Now reading: Chapter 353 - 353 353 Unique Design from Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!, a Game novel by Dancing Eggplant.

353: Chapter 353 Unique Design 353: Chapter 353 Unique Design This was the first ti Yang Yu had seen such a Task.

The entire Task displayed a row of question marks, and its border was not distinct, showing a dim Black Iron color.

However, such a color was not the true color the Task was ant to have.

Based on Yang Yu’s speculation, the appearance of this Task was likely to upgrade progressively with the collection of clues, from Black Iron to Bronze, from Bronze to Silver, and finally to the color of a King, sothing he had never seen before.

If he could complete that Task, the reward would probably be even more generous than those of source hunt missions.

But then again, the more generous the reward of a Task, the higher the risk that accompanied it.

For instance, for the Hidden Task “Ancient Brave Lox,” each ti a player cleared one of the Underground Mazes established by Hero Lox, the reward would increase, but every Underground Maze left by Hero Lox was exceedingly difficult.

By conventional strategy thods, it was simply impossible for Yang Yu to clear any of them.

This Task, too, was likely to be highly challenging, and it might even be related to the main storyline.

Just the collection of clues alone was considerably difficult.

The Bat had completely disappeared after a few flaps; no information could be obtained from it.

In the ga process, clue gathering was also the most cumberso.

One never knew where the clues actually lay, having to continuously engage in conversations, perform carpet searches, and try various decryptions.

Now, having only eliminated a Bat from who knows where, it was anyone’s guess where the related clues might be.

Iyas seed to sense the Dark Energy on the Bat, and relying on her, it might be possible to find many clues.

But then…

The current Iyas was a complicated case.

After closing the Task panel, Yang Yu issued his next command with a grave expression,

“Get ready, we’re going to the final level.”

Slowly releasing the bowstring, Iyas returned her arrows to the quiver, her gaze never straying from Yang Yu.

She bit her lip softly, without asking anything, and silently followed behind Yang Yu.

Following the twisting stairs downward, the corner’s white spider webs, and the faint light from the walls, accentuated the Underground Maze’s haunting atmosphere.

Stepping over a spider web that lacked a spider on the ground, Yang Yu told Bai Jin and Iyas to keep so distance from him.

If they encountered any danger, he would be able to notify them to leave quickly.

Then Yang Yu descended the last step of the staircase.

The space ahead suddenly opened up, and a large circular arena appeared in front of Yang Yu; the floor of the arena consisted of brown stone blocks inscribed with writing.

The arena bore no trace of battle, nor was there anyone or any Demon there—a void of emptiness.

Yang Yu gently tossed a stone inside, and the stone bounced across the intricate floor with a Bam, echoing in the hollow space.

The stone stopped wobbling in the center.

Once again, silence fell, so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

Yang Yu turned to Iyas, “Iyas, you’re quite sensitive to Darkness, do you not sense anything?”

Finally getting a chance to speak to Yang Yu, Iyas pursed her lips and said, “No, I haven’t sensed anything…

and about that Bat from just now, it was clearly I who spotted it first, so why didn’t you ask to take action instead of Bai Jin?”

“There was no particular reason, it’s just that Bai Jin ca to my mind first at that mont, so I let her do it.”

After placating Iyas, Yang Yu once again cautioned the two of them to enter only after he called them in.

Then, he cautiously stepped into the last level of the Underground Maze.

At the entrance of the last level of the Underground Maze stood a silver giant door over five ters tall, with no fancy decorations but only black lines crisscrossing its surface.

These black lines intertwined with each other, converging in a recess in the middle of the door, resembling the phylogenetic tree of biology.

And around this “phylogenetic tree,” which looked like a circular cell, was a ring made of raised white lines, as if this “phylogenetic tree” was emitting a glow.

Outside this phylogenetic tree, there was a small light sphere, completely composed of raised white lines, forming a circle.

The two objects, one large and one small, resembled the Earth revolving around the Sun.

Yang Yu couldn’t make out the significance of these two objects, but he felt that the creator of this maze wouldn’t engage in such a aningless design, so he still committed this strange design to mory, just in case it beca relevant later.

At the center of this door, undoubtedly, was the place where the gemstone in Yang Yu’s hand was supposed to go.

All he had to do was place the “Goblin’s Divine Hand” he held into that spot, and the final boss behind that door would appear before Yang Yu.

Then he could complete the Hidden Task he longed for and inherit the legacy left behind by the Goblin Emperor.

Unfortunately, the socket was three ters high, and it would take so effort to perfectly place the gemstone there.

But now was not the ti to concern himself with that.

Yang Yu walked to the center, kicked away the little pebble he had tossed in earlier, and waved to Iyas and Bai Jin outside the door.

Only then did Iyas and Bai Jin confidently walk in.

“We haven’t seen their people, to think we may have co here for nothing.

What should we do now?”

Iyas, with an unhappy face, walked to the center to join Yang Yu.

But before she could finish speaking, Yang Yu pushed both her and Bai Jin away, shouting,

“Prepare for battle!

The enemy is right above us!”

What?

Taking advantage of the push, Iyas perford a side roll, drew her bows and arrows, fit an arrow to the string, while Bai Jin chanted a spell, weaving a Magic Shield to cushion the impact, landing steadily on the ground.

They simultaneously looked toward Yang Yu and saw three silver spears hurtling towards him.

With agile movents, Yang Yu dodged two of the spear attacks, but one spear drove straight through, slicing open his right waist.

Blood instantly blossod like a flower, staining his clothes red.

Had he not needed to push Iyas and Bai Jin away, Yang Yu would have had a hundred percent chance to evade all attacks.

However, the one above their heads was very calm; if Iyas and Bai Jin hadn’t entered the space, it wouldn’t have been possible for them to launch an attack, they wouldn’t even have appeared.

Only by stepping into danger with Iyas and Bai Jin could Yang Yu discover what was actually happening inside this Underground Maze.

Pulling out a potion and pouring it into his mouth, Yang Yu looked up at the ceiling.

At the top of this space, silvery-white threads stretched out radially, weaving into a giant net resembling a pentagram.

It looked just like a decoration, but the sharp-eyed Yang Yu recognized it for what it was at a glance – not a simple adornnt, but the nest of a giant spider.

And the master who had built this nest was watching them intently, apparently not too welcoming of these uninvited guests.
