Lumina stood atop the battlents of the citadel, defending their city. After the strange aura appeared, it was her job to gather the knights, form a barrier and protect the people and children from any damage. Her eyes scanned the distance, all eight of them filled with a divine glow as she silently observed thousands of miles.
[How are things looking, Lumina?]
’...The enemy this ti are different. Their aura isn’t enough to defeat our husband, let alone us.’
Various colours filled her grey vision, different from a human, Lumina saw the essence of the world to the extre.
To avoid defeat, her domain did not envelop another, but Lumina herself. Its effects improved her senses to the very limit, at the cost of taste and turning her regular sight into a monochro style.
[Are you sure?]
’I can see it... the mass of Velvet’s aura is roughly half of that strange males... and a tenth of the females.’
[Your domain is quite impressive... if not for the limitations, you’d probably be able to defeat Darling, right?]
She shifted her gaze from the Dragon Vein crater, the place that Velvet bought using her funds, to train the troops to the extre. At first, Asmodeus tried to gift it, but she insisted..., and thus beca her domain.
Lumina’s plump lips parted as she slid her tongue across them... her eyes maintained their massive scale of observation. The gold pentagrams shimring inside each ruby orb, her domain wasn’t like Asmodeus or Serena, but one that simply boosted her sight to a level beyond the mortal limits.
If she focused on a wide range, then Lumina could monitor hundreds of miles in pinpoint detail, but when narrowing her gaze. She could gain god-like abilities outside of her divinity over light, allowing her to peer into the mainland.
"He’s still flirting with that damn rmaid..."
Thus, most of Asmodeus’s secret actions and teasing of Nerim beca known to the white spider, her book of grudges and secrets growing daily.
’Why would I fight, darling?’
Sotis Serena would ask Lumina stupid questions, peeking and poking at her to learn the secrets she held. But like the past, the two won shared a rivalry. Not that they hated each other, but... Lumina saw Serena as her equal.
With a huff, she curled her sharp fingertip, the white exoskeleton creaking as dozens of spiderwebs trembled slightly and countless voices entered her ears, from the conversation of Velvet and Vinea to the discussion of rchants in the capital.
"How are you doing, Vinea?"
"Aunt Velvet... I can’t stand, my abdon feels like after that bastard has his way with us..."
"Kakakaka... yeah I get you. But it feels great when he does it. This is just miserable."
"Did we win?"
"To be honest, it was a draw at best..." Velvet’s grumble faded with a flicker of golden mana from Lumina’s webbing.
[To think you made an entire communication network in the sky, one that endures the sun, wind and rain...]
Serena’s complint brought a red hue to Lumina’s cheeks.
’Thank you for the complint...’ The beautiful arachne closed her eyes while sifting through the information, the eight arms behind her each holding a quill and paper, and then transcribed hundreds, almost thousands, of aningful conversations.
"There are people from the Mainland sneaking into our lands..." Her moist lips twisted, unhappy with their comnts. She then flicked a stack of papers using magic to the knights who guarded her. "Take this to that foxy woman."
"Y-Yes your highness!"
To the knights and people, all of Asmodeus’s wives were queens, but only one gained the title Empress. Yet in secret, people understood that the closest to dethroning Empress Serena was Queen Lumina, the snow beauty.
What made this carry more weight was that only Lumina continued competing with Serena and called her by strange nicknas.
The other won showed explicit acceptance.

Back in a massive room, with elegant fabrics and fixtures, a tall, silver-haired woman with fox ears and tails sat quietly with two children on her lap. Outside the door, six royal knights stood fully ard and ready for combat.
Inside, Yumiko and her daughter sat near the massive windows spanning most of the room, watching the empress with warm smiles.
"My lovely babies, did you miss your mother?"
"M-Mother..." Ryusei blushed as he peeked at Tsukihana, who remained in fox form, curled up on her mother’s lap. He tried to pull away, but when his mother grood him with her comb, and it brushed his little fox ears... he couldn’t help but make pleasant growls.
"Oh dear, you’re just like your father~ so cute and lovely. Mwah~ Mwah~"
anwhile, sitting quietly, while leaning her chin on both palms, and kicking her tiny feet, Ryusei’s sister giggled at her brother. Ravena was sneaky, devious and lovable... the soft, divine glow that hovered around her glossy black hair could trick anyone.
The soft white fur of Tsukihana resembled Serena’s so much that many people mistook Serena for her mother, while others wondered if Ryusei was Yumiko’s son. Because of this, the relationship between Yumiko, Yuina and Serena beca close.
"Mama... where’s dad?"
Ravena wasn’t like Ryusei, who loved his mother like a baby duck. She was clearly like Velmina and Tsukihana.
They were Daddy’s little girls.
To him, they were angels who could do no wrong. He would channel his divine aura into their bodies, strengthening their future growth while cuddling them, always bringing them toys, gifts and snacks when he ca ho... and although he was away.
He would sneak into their rooms at night, and read to them...
All his daughters and sons had gained a special ability secretly; they shared a sort of telepathic ability... which allowed them to hear things while sleeping.
So when they slept, hearing Asmodeus’s voice beca a sort of comfort blanket that protected them.
"He’s currently fighting against a nasty fish." Serena’s face twisted before she chuckled and rembered Lumina’s complaints earlier.
"Hm, the fish is bad."
"Bad fish..."
"Fish?" Tsukihana’s sleepy voice sounded from the corner.
[Yumi, how does that bastard win their hearts!? We give them so much love! And he takes all the credit and best parts!]
Yumiko’s lips parted as she watched Serena’s brows furrow. Unable to hold back, she smiled, hugging Tsuki to hide her amusent at the woman she admired acting like a jealous girlfriend.
’Don’t worry, sister... the kids love you most after darling.’
Serena turned to her while ruffling Ryusei’s hair as he struggled to escape again.
[Really?]
’Mhm!’
Since they were together so often, Serena taught both Yumiko and Yuina how to speak telepathically, although they could only cover the castle right now. It helped to hide the dirty and dangerous things from the children and build their teamwork.
"Mother... I want to see Daddy."
Tsukihana’s body puffed with white smoke like fresh snow, as her long white hair and glistening blue eyes glead up at Yumiko.
"Oh my, did our little Tsuki finally wake up?" Serena adored Tsukihana, who would often sneak into her room with Ravena and sleep at the foot of her bed. Although she tried to stop the children from forming groups and rivalries, it was impossible.
The older five typically led the younger ones.
Aurelia and Velmina seed to enjoy competing with Tsukihana and Ravena, while Ryusei suffered in the middle, since he resembled their father. The girls loved to tease and play with him.
"Mother Serena~ hug ."
"Oh goodness.... I almost lted." Serena’s fluffy tails wrapped around Tsukihana and pulled her onto her lap, while Ryusei slipped free and scurried over to Yumiko.
"Fufu, you look just like Ryuji when I first t him, cute little Ryusei~ co sit on your Mother Yumiko’s lap."
While enjoying their mont with the children, Yumiko suddenly glanced at Serena. "What happened to those humans who ca last month?"
[Oh them...]
Serena’s eyes darkened montarily as she stroked both Ravena and Tsuki’s cheeks as if their soft hair cald her soul.
[I believe they finally died a few days ago, thanks to our lovely succubus sisters and their powers... but what made laugh is their final words.]
’Oh?’
The mont Serena switched to telepathy, Yumiko realised it wasn’t a conversation for the kids to hear and joined her.
[They shouted, "Praise be, to the eternal light, Lumina." Hahahaha, did they not realise the one who flayed their skin was that sa Lumina, it was hard to stop myself from breaking them during the torture...]
Serena’s eyes narrowed the more she spoke, her aura growing more violent and less divine.
Sotis, she seed more like a vengeful goddess. But her juicy red lips remained smiling brightly for the kids.
[I told the final survivor the truth.]
Her smile twisted, becoming eerie and resembling Asmodeus.
"Ah, mother looks like daddy!"
"Hehe, Mom loves Dad so much."
’...’
Poor Yumiko’s body shivered the mont she saw her sister’s face; this wasn’t just normal anger. To think that Serena could hide her ice-cold hatred from the children in such a skilled fashion amazed her.
[In their last monts... seeing Lumina’s form, they felt such despair, fufufufufu. Then I slowly clawed out his eyes, crushed his organs and healed him... over and over and over.... until they begged for forgiveness!]
’I really can’t compare to Lumina...’
It was part of the reason other won gave up after the bishop and mainlanders ca to insult Asmodeus. Serena’s heart and atmosphere beca demonic, cruel and ruthless to anyone who stood against her.
"You really resemble him sotis, sister."
"Ufufu, don’t complint so much. You won’t get anything for it~"
Like a bear that ate honey, she smiled brightly, and all the darkness faded like fog in the morning sunlight.
That’s when her eyes sharpened, and her smile twisted slightly.
[Yumiko, soon... soon we will have another sister to train.]
The poor fox could only cover her face and sigh, wondering if her beloved could keep it in his pants or if she should cover his face with a bag.
