Still, Admiral Burke did ntion that she was one of one—and if anything, they probably tracked down everyone else who was involved in the sa trial just to see if they obtained the sa regenerative ability.

Kaley pointed to another set of folders, "What are those? Journals?"

Ilana scratched her head, "I would assu so but it's from different people, dead and alive."

"What?"

"It seed like so of them wrote on their personal laptops or tablets to gather their thoughts and for those who had already passed, this could be a nto for their relatives. There are entries from Jennifer and Rachel as well—though the Admiral's and Ella's were kept private for obvious reasons."

I chuckled, "So they really allowed us to take a peek?"

"Sothing like that… I actually didn't do much hacking, more on talking to the right people and having proper exchange."

"Does the Admiral know though?"

"That's what I'm not sure of. Technically, leaking governnt files among others is still very illegal and could cost us our heads, and if they included the Admiral's personal files besides the Senator's, which also technically counts as personal files, we wouldn't be talking here today."

"That still doesn't answer if—"

"Maybe 50/50? He kind of knows to so degree but he just put trust on the people he put in charge of it."

Browsing around, I was surprised to see files regarding the people evacuated to the island of Hawaii but I quickly beelined to the records regarding Kadena Airbase, a US base in the Okinawan Prefecture.

From a simple list, I fished out a few nas from the existing locals—and even from the deceased and missing—and unfortunately, the nas of my extended family mbers weren't there.

While I was 100% sure that they'd be alive to this day, I was hoping for the tiniest bit of info from them—like if they were allied with the said groups—but they either flew under the radar or holed up from the safety of our mountain.

Still, the nas I fished out from the list were great acquaintances, but not so far as to call them friends—though if the situation called for it, I wouldn't think twice about absorbing them into my fold.

At this point, Kaley and Ilana were just watching the sa screen as I did—though Kaley would glance at my face—though after finding crumbs of nothing, I just didn't find the motivation to look through everything else that was left to look at.

Ilana turned to again, "Umm… then why haven't you asked to look into them yet?"

I stood up and thought positively, "That's actually a great idea, I have so in this album right here…"

It didn't take long before Ilana started browsing through my photo album, but it also didn't take long before her eyes widened from what she saw.

Mashiro-san would always go fishing with Aibara-san but that's different from going to the main cities."

"The motherfucker definitely sneaked out and sneaked in the Kadena Airbase…" I trailed as I pinched my glabella.

At this point, I didn't even know whether to laugh or cry so I just fucking did both. No one, I an, NO ONE could fucking imagine the frustration I was feeling by not hearing or seeing them all this ti—and even though they could definitely take care of themselves, I just wanted proof that they were still alive.

So yeah, it didn't take long before I started laughing like a maniac because one giant weight ca off my shoulders, even if coming upon it was due to fucking luck.

I could've looked through the shit we stole myself and co upon the sa image, but yeah, Ilana rolled a crit or a Natural 20 and solved one of the biggest problems weighing down. However, Ilana was definitely looking for a reward because the motherfucker started taking off her clothes at 3 fucking PM and beckoned us both to ravage her in my bed.
