As expected, the Grieved Souls stopped outside the guild, the werewolves were there watching them.
Annie had theorised the grieved souls feared werewolves because of their venom which can kill even the dead.
While the Dragonals didn’t know the exact reason, they were glad their prince was safe for now.
All that was left was to wait until the 72 hours are over and see if the Grieved Souls would act then.
While waiting, Adrian sent Athi and her subordinates out, they were the scouts and assassins of the guild.
He sent them to learn whatever was happening outside and it took less than two hours to receive information.
" Things aren’t looking good, news of the Dragonewt being here has spread, it seems others are coming to see refuge as well."
Annie frowned upon hearing that, " You’re right, that isn’t good, if we receive too many guests, it won’t be long before sobody recognises us."
He nodded, " I’m afraid the vampires might be coming as well, especially considering how many people they kill when feeding."
She shook her head, " While I’m sure so of them will be haunted, that won’t be the reason."
She pulled out her book, " Feeding doesn’t count, for the sa reason a deer won’t haunt a lion.
For a Grieved Soul to be born, being killed alone is not enough, it must be a murder where the death is unjust, like doing it for fun, power or to hide sothing.
Even accidental murder counts if the perpetrator hides but feeding is a natural order of the world.
Otherwise humans would be haunted by chickens everywhere, that would be hilarious wouldn’t it? I’m kidding, the Grieved can only be born from intelligent lifeforms.
Knowing vampires though, I’m certain they’ve murdered many outside the need to feed, probably for fun."
He nodded, " I suppose that makes sense, we’re turning them down, I don’t care about building relationships or what not, vampires aren’t getting in here."
She nodded, " I wasn’t going to ask you to accept them anyways, those bastards almost killed my family eight years ago."
They both agreed that of every race, the vampires would be the ones to be turned down without question.
Should they discover the guild was owned by werewolves, a war would begin anyways so any encountered vampire would die.

Athi had five mbers of her lineage with her, all of them were Gemma, the rest who had ca along had scattered on her orders.
Currently they were in a city within the domain of the witches. It was a relatively large city with a population of over 15 million.
The six of them stood frozen on the roof of the tallest building, what they were seeing were beyond words.
Grieved Souls ran through the entire city in such large numbers the city stretching nearly 90 kilotres had turned into winter.
The death aura brought by the Grieved Souls brought back the dead as mindless zombies.
All of them marched as one heading in the direction of the city centre, exactly where the six of them were.
" Why do you think they’re heading in this direction my lady?" A female werewolf asked Athi nervously.
Athi thought about it, " The city lord is a dark witch, while she hid it from the public, it was easy to did that out.
These are probably her victims she used as ingredients for her dark magic. Considering she’s a conjuring witch.
She probably used them for a sacrificial ritual to summon a dark entity or whatever the conjuring witches summon."
Just as she said that, a witch with long unkept hair appeared floating in the air, " YOU WANT ? CO ON THEN, CO GET !"
She shouted while facing the Grieved Souls and they moved. They stopped a few hundred tres from the castle as one.
" Slwane sendulo, ngiyakubiza, yizwa iskhalo Sami, wehlike ujezise izitha zam. Vuleka." (1)
She cast a spell, space opened like a vertical slit above her head. The slit grew longer and wider until it was nearly a hundred tres tall.
Then space opened up like curtain and a single tentacle ca out. It was pitch black and covered in grease like substance.
As soon as it appeared, the sky seed to dim and a wave of dark energy spread out, the castle withered with visible speed.
" Move." Athi commanded and they jumped off running as far away from the castle as they could.
The tentacle lashed out like a whip causing the air to snap, as strong as Athi was, all she saw was a blur which was amazing considering the size of the tentacle.
" Duck." Her and her subordinates laid down on their stomachs and braces for impact. BOOOOOM.
The tentacle landed upon the thousand army of the Grieved Souls. A shockwave followed ripping the city to shreds.
A wave of corruption and rot that withered even stone ca with the shockwave turning everything it touched to dust as if aged a thousand years.
Athi stood up, she had taken her true wolf form and so did the Gemma werewolves with her.
Even then, they barely survived with most of their fur withered. Had they not been immortal.
That shockwave would’ve aged them to death. Their vitality started healing and they ran.
They found a high vintage point and finally saw the destruction caused by that attack. The entire city was gone.
All that was left were ruins and bones but it looked as if the city was destroyed tens of thousands of years ago.
The stone that ford the building had cracked and withered with black vines growing all over them.
There was a ravine that stretched beyond the walls of city going as far as 150 kilotres away.
This ravine was caused the tentacle which had disappeared. They saw the witch laughing as if possessed by madness.
The Grieved Souls still stood there as if nothing had happened, they remained unhard even by that attack.
Athi counted them and in two seconds she already knew there were exactly 936 Grieved Souls.
They surrounded the witch forming concentric circles starting with 12 in the inner layer and each layer increased by 12.
The witch tried to fly away but collided with an invisible barrier. In front of Athi’s eyes, the Grieved Souls started weeping.
