The sun was high in the sky, its golden flas burning intensely, making the training field of Strax and his companions shine with a brilliant light. The sumr heat seed to weigh heavily on the air, causing sweat to drip down the foreheads of those training, but it didn't seem to bother Strax. He was in his usual state, unhurried, muscles taut like ropes, his eyes alert. The freshly cut grass and the flat terrain were the perfect setting for the combat about to begin.
In front of him, Samira stood with her greatsword, a confident smile plastered on her face as she observed the dragon-man with a mix of respect and challenge. The massive blade glead under the sunlight, sparking with every movent she made.
"Any news on Rogue?" Strax asked, his deep voice calm but steady. He knew the answer could be vital, and he was more than ready for anything.
Samira took her position, the tip of her greatsword resting on the ground as she prepared for the attack. "I do," she replied, her tone serious but not losing its provocative edge. She knew the fight would be intense, and Strax wouldn't be easy to defeat, but that was part of the fun.
"What is it?" Strax repeated, his eyes focused on every movent Samira made. He didn't completely trust his other sources of information, so he sought the truth in her words.
With a quick motion, Samira advanced, spinning her greatsword in a fast arc aid at Strax's side. Her steps were swift and coordinated, but Strax moved with even more precision. He raised one of his dragon claws to intercept the blow, feeling the blade of the greatsword slide smoothly against the strength of his claw, but not scratching it. Samira's sword was strong, but Strax was bigger.
She didn't retreat. Her smile widened as she jumped back, preparing for the next attack. "She's grown our guild a lot, Osiris," she said, not losing focus. The tension of the fight made her voice more intense, more grounded. "Now it's stronger than ever."
Strax raised an eyebrow, his gaze narrowing slightly as he blocked another strike from Samira with the claw of his other hand. The speed of her attacks didn't allow him to ask more questions, so he waited for the right mont to press.
"How much has it grown?" Strax asked, his voice emotionless but with a clear hint of curiosity.
Samira took advantage of the opening he gave, making a swift move with her greatsword, aiming for Strax's chest. Once again, he blocked the blow with his claw, making the blade snap against the tal of his dragon form. The force of the strike was imnse, but nothing Strax couldn't handle. He was used to the strength of his wives, and Samira was no different.
"It's got a thousand mbers," she said, her words coming out casually, as if delivering a simple report, but Strax knew this was more than just an update.
A thousand mbers. That ant Rogue, his ally who now led the Osiris guild, had gained even more power and influence. That was either a big threat or a big opportunity, depending on how Strax chose to handle it.
"A thousand?" Strax murmured to himself, feeling the weight of the answer. His eyes glead with fierce intensity, and he stepped forward, his claws extending as he prepared for the next exchange of blows.
"Don't underestimate Osiris's strength," Samira said, her eyes sharpening with a competitive gleam. She advanced again, now more aggressively, seeking any weakness she could exploit. She spun, leapt to the side, and launched another blow with all her might.
Strax, however, was prepared. With a slight shift in his posture, he leaned to the side, letting the blade scrape against his skin without even touching him. He used his claws to grab the greatsword, forcing it downward, and then moved in with a powerful punch that Samira had to block with her arm. The impact of the punch echoed across the field, and Samira took a step back, breathing heavily but smiling from the adrenaline of the fight.
"I underestimated you, Samira," Strax said, with a tone of respect as she quickly regained her stance.
"And you're still far from defeating ," she replied with a defiant smile before launching herself again.
They continued exchanging blows, their battle a fluid and dynamic dance. Samira was agile and skilled, with a combat style focused on speed and power. She knew how to wield the greatsword to her advantage, her fighting style requiring brute force but also precise control over every movent. Strax, on the other hand, used his inhuman strength, his dragon claws as natural extensions of his arms, and his experience made him difficult to hit.
The training field was starting to be covered in a fine dust, the result of both of their strikes, with the sound of tal clashing against tal resonating in the air. The sky above was clear and cloudless, but the heat of the battle only grew with the frenetic pace that was taking over the field.
With every new move Samira made, Strax displayed his defensive skill, his body moving with surprising grace for soone of his size. He avoided her blows with ease, but that didn't make him relax. On the contrary, he was growing more focused, trying to understand her tactics.
The fight continued intensely. The training field was being transford into a true battleground, with the footprints of Samira and Strax scattered across the earth. Sweat stread down both of their faces, but Strax, with his superhuman endurance, showed no signs of fatigue. He was in a state of absolute focus, every movent perfectly calculated, each defense and counterattack a demonstration of his mastery in combat.
Samira advanced once more, her greatsword cutting through the air with impressive speed. She spun her body with agility, aiming a precise strike around Strax's neck. But he was faster. In a nearly imperceptible movent to the human eye, he raised his right claw, intercepting the greatsword in mid-air. The tal made a loud crash as it was blocked, but Strax didn't move an inch. His physical strength was such that Samira's blade, despite its size, felt like a re piece of iron against the might of a dragon.
With a satisfied smile, Strax pushed the greatsword to the side, causing Samira to lose her balance for a mont. Seizing the opening, he took a step forward and landed a quick strike with his other claw, hitting the side of his opponent. Samira was thrown back, rolling on the ground, but she quickly got up, her face marked with a challenging smile.
"You're strong, Samira, but not enough," Strax said, his voice calm but with a tone of respect. He wasn't underestimating her skill, but he knew he had the upper hand in this fight.
Samira raised her gaze, a competitive gleam in her eyes. "You're still far from defeating , Strax. Don't think you have so easily."
She gripped her greatsword with both hands, already preparing for another attack. But Strax, with his usual calm, simply observed her for a mont. He didn't move, not in a hurry. He already knew the fight was over. He had control.
With an impressive burst of speed, Strax charged forward, his human form vanishing for a mont before reappearing in front of Samira. He crouched slightly, his claws cutting through the air with lethal precision. Samira didn't have ti to react before Strax blocked her greatsword once again and, with absurd strength, disard her, sending the blade flying far away.
The greatsword fell heavily to the ground, and Samira found herself without her primary weapon. She stepped back, now with a serious expression. Even with imminent defeat, Strax didn't give her ti to recover.
He advanced again, but this ti, instead of attacking, he stopped just a few centiters from her, his dragon claws lightly pressing against Samira's shoulders, immobilizing her without the slightest difficulty.
"It's over, Samira," Strax said, his voice deep and calm, but with unwavering authority. "You did well, but the war to co requires more than what you can offer alone."
Samira stayed silent for a mont, still panting from the intensity of the fight. She looked at him, accepting her defeat with a sigh. "I see," she replied, her eyes softening a bit, but the defiant gleam still present. "I didn't expect to be beaten so quickly."
Strax stepped away from her, retracting his claws and allowing Samira to regain her composure. She picked up the greatsword from the ground and, without another word, moved to the side. Her posture showed respect, though still a bit frustrated.
Strax, on the other hand, didn't seem satisfied at all. He had won, yes, but sothing in the back of his mind wouldn't let him feel completely at ease. What was coming wouldn't be easy, and he knew that. The world was changing quickly, and he needed to act before it was too late.
He turned to Samira, who was already starting to catch her breath. "Send a letter to Rogue," Strax said firmly. "We'll form an army with rcenaries and guild mbers."
Samira looked at him with a curious expression. "Why such an urgent alliance all of a sudden? What's going on, Strax?"
He stared back at her with a serious gaze, his eyes deep and calculating. The truth was, he was starting to sense that sothing much larger was about to unfold. Sothing that would test all limits of power. Sothing he needed to anticipate.
"Because sothing big is going to happen," Strax replied, his voice now carrying a palpable tension. "Let's just say that a lot is going to unfold, and I need power." Strax spoke with a calm smile toward his wife.
"Shall we go?" he asked, summoning a sword. "You're not going to give up so easily, right?"
