With that, she gave the group a final nod and pivoted sharply on her heel. Her elegant black suit’s coat fluttered behind her as she strode off toward her ride. Agents Hugh and Oren followed in silence.
And just like that, the old guard exited.
Leaving Kaiden with his newly acquired chaos duo of mad creator and frenetic destroyer.
As Nyx watched Grace’s rapidly departing form, she couldn’t help but murmur under her breath, "Well... If there’s one thing we can say for certain, is that our ho life won’t be boring."
"It wouldn’t have been boring even if it were the male bodyguards with us! We just acquired a freaking sand feline, and the four of us never got bored in each other’s company before!" Luna scoffed, sending Kaiden a glare for having invited this pair of oddballs into their ho.
"Let’s give them a chance! They seem like nice girls," Aria whispered, more hopeful than confident.
Bastet, as always, simply yawned—unbothered, unfazed, and unconcerned by the mounting tension between the old team and the freshly added wildcards. She sprawled across the nearest sun-ward crate like a lounging queen, tail swishing idly.
Kaiden stood at the center of it all, watching Rae excitedly jab Riven in the ribs while the latter muttered about circuit insulation and adaptive plating materials. Behind him, his Valkyries exchanged varied looks of disbelief, doubt, and sothing dangerously close to resignation.
And yet, for all the chaos and conflicting energy, he couldn’t help but grin.
This... This was the start of sothing new. Maybe a little volatile. Maybe a lot insane.
But it was gonna be a banger, he could tell.
As the group slowly started toward the bunker’s main entrance, Kaiden’s eyes lingered on the horizon. He knew that the stakes had risen incredibly high from one mont to the next. His decision to subjugate Bastet on stream was gonna have many pros, but a great deal of cons as well...
The world had watched them.
They had seen him.
Be that as it may, it’s already been done. His na was spreading like wildfire right this mont, and now that they had returned triumphantly, there was one thing left to do.
Celebrate.
"Alright, team," Kaiden called out, drawing everyone’s attention as the tal doors of the bunker hissed open behind them. "We’ve got a party to throw. Desert dungeon victory. New teammates. And... let’s just say, I’ve got a plan."
Rae perked up instantly. "A plan plan? Or a ’content creator’ plan?"
Kaiden winked. "Both."
Luna rolled her eyes. "Oh no."
Nyx grinned. "Oh yes."
Aria blinked with concern, creasing her brow. "Is it dangerous, Kai? Maybe we should lay low for a bit..."
Kaiden stepped backward into the bunker’s shadowy threshold, his silhouette frad by the sunlight behind him.
"Lying low sounds smart, my beloved Aria, you’re perfectly right," he said while flashing a grin. "But you know what they say... strike the iron while it’s hot."
He raised a hand dramatically as his grin deepened. "So, my gorgeous Valkyries..."
"It’s ti we..."
...
The group moved inside, the heavy tal doors hissing shut behind them, sealing them away from the harsh outside world. The bunker’s interior was spacious and cool to the skin, though not at all cold enough to be a bother, especially to people who invested a few extra points into their Vitality stat.
Kaiden made his way to a plush sofa, sinking into its depths with a contented sigh.
Aria, ever the needy soul, imdiately settled onto his left thigh, while Luna, with a similarly needy wiggle of her delicate butt, claid his right.
Bastet, true to form, had already fallen asleep outside the bunker entrance in a stretched-out, lazy pose, a picture of feline tranquility.
Nyx, humming a cheerful tune, positioned herself behind Kaiden, and her skilled, submissive hands began a shoulder massage that lted away any lingering tension in her man’s fra. Life, for Nyx, seed to be a continuous series of delightful surprises these days. A happy little massage was the least she could give Kaiden for having changed her life so drastically, the Space Valkyrie thought.
Across from them, on an identical sofa, sat Riven, her attention consud by the glowing screen of a tablet she held. She occasionally adjusted her glasses, becoming the perfect picture of focused intensity, clearly imrsed in whatever intricate data or schematics filled her display.
On the armrest next to her, Rae lounged with an easy confidence with her bright eyes scanning the new faces before her. She wasn’t shy about her scrutiny one bit, openly studying Kaiden, Aria, Luna, and Nyx with a nonchalant yet curious expression, as if assessing their various attributes and quirks. Her gaze lingered on each of them in turn, her confident deanor betraying no concern that they were all perfectly aware of her blatant staring. She seed to be a woman who gathered information as she pleased, without apology.
Rae’s voice, sharp and to the point as ever, cut through the comfortable silence. "You do know we’re not your buddies but your bodyguards, right? There’s no need to sit us down for a chat... In fact, I believe it’s quite unprofessional... not that I care, of course." She finished with a dismissive shrug.
Kaiden simply smiled in return, his fingers finding their way toward two amazing destinations, where he began stroking Luna’s and Aria’s thighs to make himself feel even more at ho. "I’m perfectly aware that it’s unprofessional," he replied as his gaze t Rae’s.
"But my hope is that while you remain our bodyguards, we can eliminate the usual stiffness that cos with the job... We’re not your usual clients, truth be told, and based on my initial impression of you two, I’d say that neither are you ladies the old-school stone-faced bodyguard types... Anyhow, all I wanted to say is that if you’re going to be present in my ho all the ti, I’d like to be able to relax with my girls in earnest. I don’t want to walk on eggshells to remain professional with our guards."
A wide, approving grin spread across Rae’s face. "Already loving my first client," she declared. "My training didn’t prepare for this, but I’m down."
Then, without another word, she slapped Riven on the back of the head with a force that sent both her glasses and tablet tumbling to the floor.
