Yaling had been left neglected for a long while. She had stopped receiving visits from Shu ever since the inner disciple had thought there was a chance with Yin, but now? There truly were zero chances for that to happen again. Therefore, Yaling had been staying in her little cage without getting any attention outside of als.
Frankly, she was scared of what was going to happen to her now that she seemingly no longer served a purpose. Life had been so blissful when she just needed to take so aphrodisiac and let the resulting lust talk in her stead… Right now, she was fully aware that whatever happened next fully depended on the man in front of her.

Yaling had learned about him little by little.
To think that the man who had singlehandedly crushed her brother’s criminal group and taken her away was actually of such enormous status… It might be intimidating, but it didn’t change much for her. Whoever it was that ruled this residence, she was at their rcy.
If anything, it was a good thing that he was of such a powerful background–because on the off-chance that things went well today, and nothing bad happened… Wouldn’t it an that Yaling had beco a part of sothing greater than she had ever been?
At this mont, things might seem bad for her, but if there was one thing Yaling was good at, it was going along with the flow.
“Hello, Miss Yaling. As you can imagine, you being called here today was not for just any random reason” Anoteros spoke first. He was sitting behind an ornate, wooden desk of high manufacture–Sitting in a chair that was similarly high-end and clearly of exceptional comfort.
Yaling nodded.
She had been giving sothing to cover herself up, which hadn’t happened in a long ti... She had spent most of her ti at the residence stark naked until now.
Rather than being given a chair, she was kneeling on the ground with her hands covering her knees, listening attentively to the patriarch’s words. As the man of the house, Edrick’s words were law here, not to ntion that with his status, his words might even be law in front of the actual law as well…
He was smoking a thick cigar stuffed with dicinal herbs, drawing on it for an awkwardly long period of ti in between sentences, observing Yaling the entire ti.
This gave her plenty of ti to inspect her surroundings.
The young noble’s office was rather spacious. There was plenty of empty space, indicating that it had been put together only fairly recently, and that certain items of decoration were simply not present yet. The place was filled with books and parchnts, however.
Anoteros ford a smile as he looked at Yaling closely. She shifted her body around a lot. Her eyes were darting around, full of worry.
“Don’t be afraid, Yaling. I called you here today because I already have sothing in mind for you… I believe that you have a place as a maid in this residence” he smiled as he saw her gaze brighten.
“It’s good to know that you value this opportunity… You see, being a part of my residence is a privilege. I don’t just hire anyone to do work here. Although I did not see enough value in you at first and instead used you as an incentive for soone else… Your focus on completing the tasks assigned to you, whether or not you helped with a little bit of aphrodisiac or not–Frankly, I was quite impressed by that, and I think that there is sothing that suits you just fine…”
Edrick placed a small vial on his desk and pushed it closer toward Yaling’s direction.
“You see, not every maid has the sa job to perform… Jingyi is the headmaid and my personal maid. She is in charge of everyone else. anwhile, Muxing is the head of the nursery, et cetera and et cetera… I had thoughts to give you a rather important position, that of Jingyi’s assistant”
Yaling nodded clearly, listening to his every word.
“This ans that you would be in charge of her duties were she to be unavailable–But most importantly, because of her role as headmaid, she can not stand as much ti by my side as a personal maid should… You will be fulfilling that role, following around, carrying ssages for , and fetching what I ask for… Those sorts of things” he explained. Although the job description might not sound very appealing, being one that had to stick close to the residence’s highest authority was definitely an attractive position.
You could be certain that if a noble tended to be accompanied by the sa servant all the ti, that this servant was especially liked by said noble.
“Do you understand?”
“I do, Master!”
“You catch on quick, but before you can get this position, you’ll naturally have to prove yourself to . To do that, you’ll begin by drinking the contents of this vial in full. Do not fret, this liquid is harmless, and it is essential to you getting the position” he said, pointing to the vial in question.
Yaling wasn’t stupid. She could imagine what the option was if she did not get that position Edrick was offering, so despite feeling wary of the pink substance, she did not hesitate.
The girl rose from the ground, walked up to the desk, and picked the vial up, uncorking and drinking it all down in just a few seconds.
Surprisingly, the taste was pretty good, and it was very easy to drink.
Anoteros seed very pleased by her lack of hesitation.
Yaling wasn’t able to see much of his reaction, as sothing suddenly happened to her.
For a few monts, it felt like she was weightless.
She knelt on the ground as a most bizarre sensation spread throughout her entire body. Her vision grew blurry, all of her five senses seed unresponsive, and for a second, she truly thought that sothing bad was happening–But it only lasted a few small instants. She was just fine.
“I… I feel odd” she said. Her voice was a higher pitch than normal. It sounded much…Cuter than usual.
“Seems like it was a success. Co over to my side, Yaling, we’ll finish up. Then, you’ll officially be a maid in my residence”
Yaling did as he asked, quickly noticing that the desk seed much bigger than it had been a few monts ago…
Of course, the truth of the situation soon revealed itself.
