Cassius plopped down on a tree trunk beside the hog, pulling a gleaming knife from his storage ring.

The blade caught the firelight, flashing dangerously as he set to work with smooth, precise movents. Each stroke sliced cleanly through the hide, peeling it back to reveal the glistening pink at beneath.

"Big and juicy...Just like how a girl look so much more prettier after removing her clothes, this hog looks so much more delicious without it’s skin and fur on."

He murmured, his voice low and satisfied, like an artist admiring his canvas, while Julie, hovering nearby as the ice cream maker continued to churn lazily behind her, felt a spark of excitent ignite.

Her eyes fixed on the blade in Cassius’s hand, and her fingers twitched with anticipation. She straightened her posture, puffing out her chest as she stepped forward towards him.

"Hey, Cassius..." She called, a confident grin spreading across her face. "Let help with that, skinning the hog, I an."

She patted her chest with her palm, her tone brimming with pride.

"I might not know much about cooking, but blades...That’s my specialty. They don’t call the Whispering Blade for nothing!"

Her eyes sparkled, her grin turning cocky as she gestured grandly toward the hog.

"So, let take a crack at it, please. I’m a master with a dagger. Watch turn this thing into art."

Cassius raised an eyebrow, his lips twitching in amusent.

But before he could say a word—

"NOOO!"

Skadi’s head snapped up so fast it was a miracle her neck didn’t break. In a blur of motion, she launched herself in front of Julie, her feet skidding against the dirt as she threw her arms out wide, shielding the hog like a mother wolf defending her cub.

"Over my dead body, Captain!" She barked, her voice cracking with panic. "You are not laying a single finger on this hog!"

Her eyes were wide with alarm as she glanced over her shoulder at the carcass, her voice trembling.

"I-I already took its life once, and I swore I’d make it a tasty, glorious al, not...not whatever you’d turn it into!"

Julie froze, her jaw dropping as Skadi’s words sank in.

"W-What?!"

She shrieked, her face flushing crimson. She then stomped forward, her hands clenching into fists as her voice climbed higher with every word.

"Skadi, you little puppy! It’s just cutting the pig! I’m not gonna poison it by using a knife! What do you think I’m gonna do, slice it into confetti?!"

Skadi shook her head so vigorously her hair whipped around her face.

"YES!" She yelled back, her arms still spread wide as she stood protectively in front of the hog like so heroic guardian statue. "I don’t know how, Captain, but you’ll find a way to ruin it! I can feel it in my bones! One second it’s fine, and the next it’s ruined like...like your stew last week!"

Julie recoiled like she’d been physically slapped.

"How dare you bring that up!?" She shrieked, pointing an accusatory finger at Skadi as her voice wobbled between rage and wounded pride. "That stew burned because Aisha distracted by summoning that damn glowing snake! You can’t bla that on !"

Aisha, sitting cross-legged a few feet away, smirked and sipped her tea without looking up. "Should’ve been able to multitask, ’Whispering Blade.’" She said dryly, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

Julie spun on her heel and jabbed a finger at Aisha.

"Not helping!" She barked before whirling back to Skadi. "You think I’m gonna butcher it into oblivion, huh? You think I can’t handle a simple skinning job?!"

"...Well newsflash, Skadi, I’ve cut down wyverns midair! I think I can handle a dead hog!"

Skadi gasped in exaggerated horror, clutching her chest like Julie had just insulted her ancestors.

"That’s even worse! You’re used to hacking! This isn’t a battlefield, Captain!...This is a sacred kitchen operation! Your blade as no place here!"

Hearing this accusation, Julie whirled toward him, her face flushed red with indignation as her voice cracked.

"Cassius! Back up here! You know I can handle a blade, I’m the whispering blade, for crying out loud! Tell her she’s being ridiculous!"

Skadi’s head snapped toward Cassius, her eyes pleading as she clasped her hands together. "Don’t let her do it, Master! Please! The hog deserves better!"

Caught between them, Cassius exhaled slowly, his lips twitching with suppressed laughter as he looked from Julie’s blazing eyes to Skadi’s trembling, desperate pout.

"You three are sothing else." He said, his tone amused as he wiped his knife on a cloth, his eyes twinkling with mischief. "It’s always fun having you around. Never a dull mont with you lot bickering like this."

He tossed the hide aside, his movents casual as he began marinating the at with a blend of frostleaf and moonpetal syrup, the spices crackling faintly as they touched the hog.

"Fun?" Aisha let out a loud harumph, her voice sharp as she crossed her arms, stepping closer to Cassius, her expression indignant. "What, you calling us a bunch of clowns or jesters dancing around for your amusent?"

She demanded, raising an eyebrow, her posture stiff with offense.

"Is that what we are to you, Cassius?" Her lips twitched, her eyes betraying a flicker of amusent despite her tone. "Your personal cody show?"

Cassius laughed, his voice light as he shook his head, his hands rubbing spices into the hog’s at, the savory aroma mingling with the campfire’s warmth.

"Nah, you’re not clowns or jesters." He said, his tone teasing as he glanced at Aisha, his eyes glinting with mischief. "But co on, you’ve gotta admit it’s hilarious."

"Three of the most powerful people on the continent, arguing over a pig and a packet of sugar like it’s a battlefield...Who else has this kind of chaos? It’s exactly what makes you all so great."

His grin widened, his hands steady as he coated the hog with a shimring glaze, while Julie and Aisha both crouched down in silence as their faces burned red.

Neither dared to say a word. They simply stared at him with a indignant gaze, knowing deep down they really were just a chaotic little bunch.

Heroes to the world, but in this mont, nothing more than a pair of sitting idiots.

Cassius then glanced at Julie, noticing the persistent spark in her eyes, he decided to allow her to help.

"Alright, Julie, since you’re so set on helping." He said, his tone encouraging as he set the marinade down, his hands now spreading a final layer of marinade over the hog, the spices glinting in the firelight. "I’ve got a task for you. Sothing perfect for your skills."

"Really?" Julie’s eyes lit up, her voice bursting with enthusiasm as she leaned forward, her hands clasped together. "Really, Cassius? What is it?" She asked, bouncing on her toes, her tone bright with excitent. "I’m ready to help! Just tell what to do!"

Her shoulders straightened, her earlier frustration forgotten as she awaited his instructions.

Aisha’s expression on the other hand shifted to panic, her voice sharp as she darted to Cassius’s side, grabbing his shoulders, her eyes wide with alarm.

"No, Cassius, you can’t do this!" She exclaid, shaking him lightly, her tone urgent. "You know she’s gonna ss it up! Whatever it is, Captain’s gonna turn it into a disaster! Don’t give her any tasks, I’m begging you!"

Her hands tightened on his shoulders, her posture tense as she glanced at Julie, who frowned in response at the blatant disrespect from her subordinate...
