At her question, both Joy and Julie looked up.

And the mont they did, they were startled by the sight.

The massive golem stood silhouetted against the sky atop its floating platform. From this clearing, with the trees no longer obstructing their view, the sheer scale of it was overwhelming.

For a heart-stopping second, both won tensed for battle.

Julie’s hand flew to her sword, the blade sliding from its sheath with a familiar shing.

Joy’s fingers crackled with magical energy, her weapon beginning to materialize in a shimr of light.

"Wait! Wait, wait, wait!"

Aqua rushed forward, waving her arms frantically.

"Hold on! Don’t do anything!"

They paused, confusion replacing battle-readiness.

"We’re not under attack!" Aqua exclaid. "That thing above isn’t an enemy weapon or anything like that! It’s—"

She gestured wildly at Aisha, who was stuffing her wand into Skadi’s mouth to stop her from biting her.

"It’s Aisha’s spell! She was just showcasing her magic, showing off her talent! And that golem up there? The flying one throwing rocks..."

"...That’s all her doing!"

Aisha’s head popped up from beneath Skadi, her face covered in wolf slobber.

"Yes! Captain! It was all !" She shouted. "I was the one who did it! It’s my beautiful magic!"

She turned back to Skadi, shoving at the wolf’s massive head.

"Did you hear that, you stupid mutt?! It was not an enemy! Now let go! I’m not an attacker!"

Skadi paused mid-nip, her eyes blinking innocently.

"I already knew that." The wolf said calmly.

"What?!" Aisha’s eye twitched. "Then why the hell are you biting ?!"

Skadi’s tail wagged as she simply said,

"I simply wanted to fight with you, Aisha. I need exercise."

"YOU LITTLE SHIT!"

Aisha yanked her wand free and pointed it directly at Skadi’s face.

A bolt of energy shot forth, slamming into the wolf’s side and making her yelp.

Skadi scrambled backward, but Aisha was already on her feet, chasing after her and firing spell after spell.

"Hold still! Don’t run, you dumb mutt! I’m going to tear you apart into pieces!"

Skadi yelped and darted away, Aisha in hot pursuit, explosions blooming behind them as spells missed their mark and slamd into the ground.

Julie watched the chaos unfold, then slowly brought a hand to her forehead, groaning.

"Goddammit, Aisha...Goddammit."

She rubbed her temples before she went on to say in frustration like she was a overworked boss,

"I’ve told her so many tis. So many tis! If she’s going to practice her magic, she has to inform first. Or inform soone! Anyone!"

"Because every ti she does sothing, it’s explosive!"

She threw her hands up in frustration.

"You don’t know how many tis people have been woken from sleep thinking an attack was happening, only to realize it was just Aisha practicing her spells! It’s too much!"

She balled her fists like she was going to punch soone as she added,

"I just want to steal that wand from her and lock it up until she learns how to behave like the commander she’s supposed to be!"

Carla, however, seed entirely unconcerned with the administrative headache Aisha caused.

Her cold, sharp eyes scanned the area—the trees, the sky, the empty field.

Before—

"Then the sudden loud noises here...it’s not from an enemy."

She turned to Aqua, her expression disappointed.

"...Then does that an that there’s no one we have to fight? It’s just us?"

Joy’s face fell as well. She had been in the process of conjuring her weapon, and now it flickered and faded as she realized there was no enemy to use it on.

"Tch." She clicked her tongue, looking away in frustration. "...I really wanted to battle."

"Sa." Carla nodded grimly. "I thought there might be bandits to slaughter."

"Or a rcenary group." Joy added. "A trained one would be better since it would much more satisfying to see all their efforts at survival go to waste under my axe."

Aqua stared at them both, her expression caught sowhere between dismay and disbelief.

They were both so...bloodthirsty. So eager for violence. It was honestly a little terrifying.

But then a thought struck her, and her eyes lit up.

"Leaving aside the whole attacker situation..." She said excitedly. "...let tell you sothing even more shocking! Sothing that will definitely blow your minds!"

Before anyone could respond, she barreled forward.

"I just learned that my brother is actually a genius at theoretical magic!"

She clasped her hands together, beaming.

"You might think I’m joking, but I’m really not! The reason Aisha over there went from being a beginner advanced mage just a year ago to suddenly becoming an Archmage now?"

"It’s because my brother Cassius taught her!"

Both Joy and Carla froze.

Their heads swiveled toward her.

"Wait." Joy said slowly. "Hold up. Are you telling that Aisha is an Archmage right now? I’m pretty sure she wasn’t at that level a year ago."

"She’s young too." Carla nodded slowly. "It’s not common or rather it’s extrely rare to see an Archmage that isn’t old yet."

Neither of them were specialized mages, but they both used magic regularly—Joy with her holy hamr, Carla with her blood magic.

They knew enough to understand just how significant this was.

And in response, Aqua nodded vigorously.

"It’s most definitely true! Just look at that spell up there!"

She pointed at the floating golem.

"Sothing like that? Only an archmage could do sothing like that! And the best part? It’s a spell that my brother constructed! He formally created it for her!"

She puffed up with pride as she added,

"Apparently Aisha has been taking lessons from him here and there, learning things. And just from that alone, she got boosted all the way to archmage level!"

"How amazing is that?" She bead at them.

She waited for their reactions, expecting joy, excitent, perhaps a bit of healthy amazent at her brother’s genius.

Instead—

Joy and Carla just stared at her.

For a long, uncomfortable mont.

Then they turned to Julie with Joy asking,

"Is that true Julie? Did Aisha really beco a Archmage with Cassius’s help?"

Julie wanted to give a joyful answer since it was rather good news.

But the mont she is a how they were staring at like they wanted to hunt her down, she didn’t reply with words and instead just nodded her head

Getting the confirmation they were waiting for, slowly Joy and Carla looked at each other.

And sothing snapped.

It was like watching a dam break.

Fury. Frustration. Every negative emotion they had been holding in suddenly erupted to the surface.

A golden hamr materialized in Joy’s hand, blazing with radiant light, as her face twisted into an expression of pure rage.

Carla’s hands filled with blood-red daggers, her eyes going wild.

Before Julie or Aqua could react, Joy spun around and brought her hamr down onto a nearby boulder.

Boom!

The rock exploded, fragnts flying everywhere.

She raised the hamr again and again, smashing everything in reach—boulders, the ground, anything solid enough to break.

"This isn’t fair!" She roared, bringing the hamr down with earth-shaking force.

Carla, anwhile, had darted toward the treeline.

Her daggers flashed, and trees began to fall.

Slash! Slash! Slash!

She sliced through trunks like they were butter, her movents savage and uncontrolled, her face a mask of berserker fury rather than her usual cold assassin’s deanor.

She was slaughtering the forest.

And just like that, both of them destroyed everything around them with abandon, their rage finding release in wanton destruction.

Julie stared, utterly horrified.

"What—what are they doing?!" She shrieked, turning to Aqua. "Why are they breaking apart the area like this?! Have they gone crazy?!"

"I an I already knew Joy has a screw loose in her head. But not to the extent that she starts smashing rocks all of a sudden!"

But Aqua didn’t react like Julie did and just watched the chaos unfold with a reluctant smile tugging at her lips.

"I’m pretty sure they haven’t gone crazy." She said thoughtfully. "It’s probably because they can’t handle the fact that my brother is suddenly a genius mage who can create Archmages that they’re acting out like this."

She watched Joy pulverize another boulder.

"I an, Joy’s already frustrated with Cassius. She’s been trying to apprehend him, but no matter what she does, she can’t keep up."

"Every ti she thinks she’s caught up, he rises even higher, leaving her in the dust."

She winced as a boulder crack in half nearby.

"She’s been holding that frustration in for a while now."

She then glanced toward Carla, who was thodically dismantling what was left of the treeline.

"And Carla?" Aqua shrugged. "She’s also quite competitive with him, in her own way. Apparently, she’s not the biggest fan of my brother’s guts."

"So hearing that he’s even more amazing than she thought, probably pushed her over the edge."

"And it seems..." She chuckled despite herself. "...Carla has found Joy’s way of venting very effective. She’s joining in on the destruction."

While Aqua found the entire situation genuinely amusing—Julie was absolutely not having it.

Her eyes tracked the destruction like a rchant watching their coin purse get lighter by the second.

"Wait, hold on—" Her voice rose in panic. "Even though this is outside, this is still property of the Holy Guard! You can’t just destroy it like that!"

She took off at a sprint toward the chaos with the intention of stopping it all.

"Stop it! Stop it, you two!"

She pointed at Aisha, who was still chasing Skadi and blasting craters into the ground.

"Stop fighting! This isn’t so kind of demolition ground!"

She then spun toward Joy and Carla.

"And you two! Stop smashing the rocks and cutting down the trees! They’re all part of the property! Do you have any idea how much it costs to—"

Thump! Smash!

"—Oww!"

Julie’s foot caught on sothing—a crack in the earth, probably from one of Aisha’s stray spells—and she went down hard, face-first into the dirt.

Aqua winced sympathetically, while Julie pushed herself up imdiately, rubbing her nose where it had smacked the ground.

"Dammit!" She snarled, her face red with a mixture of pain and fury. "I already struggle to walk normally, and now you’ve put cracks everywhere!"

"I swear to God, I’m gonna catch every single one of you and give you punishnts if you keep running around like—"

She was off again, chasing after the chaos-makers and shouting threats.

Aqua watched her go, chuckling to herself.

’Poor Julie.’ She thought, though her smile betrayed her actual amusent. ’She’s got her hands full with this lot.’

She glanced around at the destruction.

Te craters from Aisha’s spells, the shattered boulders from Joy’s hamr, the felled trees from Carla’s rampage, the scorch marks from Skadi’s near-misses.

Then she muttered under her breath.

"It’s a good thing Auntie Maria isn’t here. She’d be just as panicked as Julie over there."

She could picture it perfectly—Maria wringing her hands, fretting over the property damage, trying to corral everyone like they were unruly children while she was the only adult present.

The image made her smile fade slightly, replaced by sothing softer.

’I wonder what Auntie Maria is doing right now.’

A small smile returned to her face.

’I hope she’s having fun with Lady Diana at the hospital.’
