"Xin’er, what’s wrong?" Beiming Han cupped her face and asked anxiously.
"It’s nothing, I... I’m not up for it today, I’m tired, need to sleep." Gu Qingxin desperately suppressed her emotions, turning away from him.
Beiming Han’s hand froze in mid-air, fingertips damp.
He didn’t move again, his eyes fixed on her. He stayed awake until the latter half of the night, knowing she had truly fallen asleep, before reaching out to draw her into his arms.

That night, Gu Qingxin was plagued by nightmares. In her dreams, Beiming Qianqian kept staring at her, repeatedly saying, you can love any man in this world, just not Beiming Han.
No! She didn’t want to love anyone else; she only wanted to love him!
When Gu Qingxin woke up, her head was splitting. Looking around, she realized she was back in North Garden.
Everything that happened before seed like a dream to her, still so unreal.
"Awake?" Beiming Han entered the room holding a bowl of porridge.
"Why did you bring it up? I could go down and eat." Gu Qingxin forced a pale smile.
"You had nightmares again last night, you must be feeling unwell, just lie down." Beiming Han sat by the bed, gently stirring the porridge and blew on a spoonful before bringing it to her lips.
Gu Qingxin opened her mouth to eat, noticing a red burn on his hand. She imdiately grabbed his wrist, asking, "Did you make this porridge?"
"Yes, it’s nothing." Beiming Han smiled.
"Next ti, let Aunt Zhou handle things like this."
Gu Qingxin looked at him tenderly, her heart aching terribly. No matter what happens in the future, you must take care of yourself.
"I just wanted to make porridge for you myself." Beiming Han lowered his head with a bitter smile, scooped another spoonful, cooled it, and brought it to her lips.
"It’s delicious." Gu Qingxin smiled again.
"Then have so more." Beiming Han reached out to stroke her head.
"Okay."
Beiming Han fed her the entire bowl of porridge, then Gu Qingxin asked about Xiao Yi’s condition. Beiming Han said Xiao Yi was recovering well, so there was nothing to worry about.
"I’ll go see him later." Gu Qingxin looked up and said to him.
"I’ll go with you." Beiming Han looked at her, his eyes showing a faint sadness, which made Gu Qingxin’s heart twist painfully.
She turned her eyes away and nodded, "Okay."
On the way to the hospital, Beiming Han held her in his arms. They didn’t do anything, didn’t speak, only held each other more tightly, as if trying to rge their bodies into one, to beco inseparable.
Gu Qingxin visited Xiao Yi first, then went to see her mother.
Lin Yin had gone to the restroom, and Gu Qingxin searched around her mother’s pillow for a strand of hair and quickly put it away.
She refused to believe that she wasn’t her mother’s biological daughter, but rather the daughter of that woman, Beiming Qianqian.
She didn’t want to leave Beiming Han, not at all. She and he were already one, and if they were forced apart, it would be like using a knife to cruelly cut them apart.
It would slice through not just flesh, but bone.
No, she couldn’t so easily give up on Beiming Han!
It’s unfair to him, and unfair to herself.
