Chapter 1135: Chapter 846: Deep Pit

Su Mo turned his head and glanced, but didn’t pay much attention, continuing to handle his business. He had already locked onto the tasks he chose.

More than an hour later, Su Mo received the 123 high-value tasks as he wished, but he wasn’t happy at all.

Because it was far from what he initially expected, completing all of them would only earn him over 3 billion contribution points.

Just as Su Mo was about to leave.

A sudden commotion erupted in the distance, and the scattered people in the hall retreated to the sides.

Su Mo turned his head to look, feeling puzzled, what was going on? What day is it today?

He saw a group of Imperial generals wearing different chanical armors, surrounded by a crowd of well-dressed Imperial nobles walking in first. Leading them was a hunched old man, with a full head of white hair, a cybernetic left eye, and a gloomy expression.

“Boss, so many Imperial soldiers, they’re not here with good intentions, could they be coming to trouble us?”

“Probably not, they’re not coming towards us. But sothing’s not right, who’s that leader? Looks quite dangerous.”

Su Mo shook his head and said.

Sun Duoxiang looked carefully at the old man, and his eyelid twitched as he said.

“Damn, isn’t that the Galmotos Empire’s Chancellor, Sico?”

“Is this guy famous?”

Su Mo curiously asked.

“Of course he’s famous, this guy is ruthless, wielding imnse power in the Galmotos Empire. Anyone who offends him ets a bad end. I know him because soone from the Alliance once cursed him anonymously on the Star Ring Forum, but sohow he found them. Then, on the Star Ring Forum, he livestread skinning and turning them into living specins, the kind that won’t die.”

Sun Duoxiang explained with lingering fear.

At this mont, another group of high-ranking officials walked in, each wearing different styles of clothing, and unsurprisingly, they should be high-ranking officials from various Alliance countries.

Su Mo was slightly stunned, unexpectedly seeing a familiar face.

Among the people from the Alliance walking in, he saw the figure of Vice Chairman Ithlin. Her expression was tense, giving off a strong sense of oppression.

The visit of these two groups represented the presence of both major factions.

This kind of lineup would make anyone tremble and retreat, so it’s no wonder that the scattered people in the hall dispersed in terror.

Sun Duoxiang, with his heart pounding, said to Su Mo with a face full of relief, “Boss, good thing I listened to you and didn’t continue blocking the door, otherwise we’d be making headlines today.”

Thinking about how he almost blocked so many big shots, Sun Duoxiang broke into a cold sweat.

Su Mo didn’t reply to Sun Duoxiang, just kept staring at them.

He was very curious about what this group was up to. However, he had no intention to get involved.

This group was currently the center of a storm; getting involved would only cause trouble for himself.

But it didn’t matter, as Su Mo had the Heavenly Sin Armor to eavesdrop on their conversation from a distance.

Both groups arrived in front of a special service counter on the left side of the hall.

The counter was empty, with no staff present.

Sico turned his grim face towards Ithlin and the others, and said, “Are you here to witness the great historical mont of our Empire?”

“Sico, don’t be too pleased. You can buy Star Destroyers, but that doesn’t an we can’t.”

Ithlin replied calmly and steadily.

“Heh, you think you can? As far as I know, your contribution isn’t enough!”

Sico said with utter confidence.

“Even if it’s not enough, we can try. Where there’s a will, there’s a way.”

Ithlin replied with determination, slightly furrowing her brows.

At this mont, a fat man, wearing a high-ranking officer’s uniform of Star Ring City, with a big belly, greasy hair, and weighing over two hundred pounds, walked slowly over. Several subordinates followed behind him.

A subordinate smartly dressed in noble attire, standing beside Sico, respectfully said.

“Lord Sico, the Arcav supervisor is here.”

After hearing this, Sico no longer paid attention to Ithlin, as the business was the priority.

He arrogantly said to Arcav, “I am here on behalf of the Galmotos Empire to buy a Star Destroyer. Our contribution value is sufficient, and we’ve brought the money.”

At this point, other mbers from the countries accompanying Ithlin couldn’t sit still and also spoke up, “We are also here to purchase a Star Destroyer, and we’ve brought the money.”

Arcav wore a playful smile on his face and spoke to the crowd.

“You might have misunderstood sothing, huh?”

“Misunderstood what?”

Sico’s face darkened, asking unhappily.

“A Star Destroyer isn’t sothing you can just buy like groceries, even if your contribution value and money are sufficient. First, we must check if Star Ring City has any extra Star Destroyers. If there aren’t any, they’ll have to be produced on demand, and producing on demand requires getting in line. Mind you, Star Ring City’s military production lines are quite busy.”

Arcav replied with a sly, insincere smile.

These words caused an uproar among everyone present.

Sico’s eyes turned increasingly gloomy, deeply displeased, as he felt like they were being ssed with.

At this mont, the envoy of the Yanas Kingdom, Yaji, quickly said, “Lord Arcav, we will make a reservation. We are willing to queue.”

“You have even less qualification. To queue, the prerequisite is that your contribution value is sufficient to apply. After all, Star Ring City has its rules.”

Arcav replied with a smile.

Sico squinted his eyes, quickly adjusting his mindset and said, “So, we can reserve then? 100 billion Star Coins, right?”

“Of course, you can reserve. However, as the military supplies officer of Star Ring City, there are so precautions I need to explain to you beforehand. Just to avoid being accused of negligence. The 100 billion Star Coins are for the Star Destroyer’s hull structure alone, excluding various equipnt. I would personally suggest opting for selections, such as the power system selection, radar device selection, launch port selection, armor selection…”

Arcav casually ntioned dozens of large selections.

Hearing this, Sico’s old face twitched, thinking that if anyone else said such things other than a high-ranking official of Star Ring City, they would’ve been taken down and chopped multiple tis.

“May I ask how much these selections would cost?”

Sico asked, holding back his emotions.

“That depends on the standards you choose. Selections also vary in quality. The ordinary level would add about five billion Star Coins. A bit better would be one or two billion, and there’s no upper limit for the best.”

Arcav talked about it as if it were the most normal thing ever.

At this point, Sico felt like burning flas in his heart, extrely angry.

They initially agreed to 100 billion Star Coins, but according to this guy’s selections, getting it without spending two or three billion more seems impossible.

However, they had no leverage, only able to look at the situation with no choice.

He suppressed his discomfort and asked, “If I place an order, how long will it take to receive it?”

“The Star Destroyer’s craftsmanship is very complex, taking about two or three years, which is fast. If it’s slower, ten years isn’t unusual, and that all depends on this.”

Arcav said with a smile and did not forget to rub his fingers.

Sico’s subordinate whispered quietly in his ear, “Lord Sico, he wants a kickback.”

Sico nodded slightly, indicating he understood, but did not agree to it verbally.

The main issue was that the waiting ti was too long.

In two or three years, interest might have faded.

And most importantly, he found this Arcav too slippery, not very reliable. If he took money but didn’t deliver, it would be a major issue.

Arcav was in no rush, looking at Sico with a smile, appearing to have him completely figured out.

Ithlin and the others, hearing this, collectively breathed a subtle sigh of relief. If purchasing Star Destroyers took that long, the crisis would be temporarily averted.

From afar, Su Mo eavesdropped on their conversation, unable to help the twitch at the corners of his mouth.

He felt like this was just a trap!
