Chapter 1152: Chapter 863: The Deal (Second Update)

Actually, Su Mo had thought for a long ti before coming up with a compromise, renting the Star Destroyer to the Federation under the na of a third party. This way, the Star Destroyer would have a permit, equivalent to a license, so he wouldn’t need to keep earning contribution points. It also helps resolve the Federation’s crisis while allowing him to earn a substantial profit.

“No worries, as long as we’re willing to grind for it, we can eventually gather enough contribution points. The Federation never lacks manpower.”

Alles said, slightly excited.

Hearing this, Su Mo silently let out a sigh of relief.

“What model of Star Destroyer can you rent, and how’s its performance?”

Alles promptly asked.

Su Mo hastily explained, “It’s the Star Destroyer called Phantom Flower, with top-notch performance. It’s definitely better than the one the Imperial Army has.”

“Isn’t that one from the general store? Are you that close with the old man?”

Alles was quite surprised.

“Uh, we’ve got a bit of a relationship.”

Su Mo replied, slightly embarrassed.

“Wow, the old man is notoriously difficult; he never deals with anyone. No one has ever succeeded in getting close to him.”

“That’s right, that old guy is really hard to talk to. Honestly, if there were another option, I wouldn’t want to rent his ship.”

Su Mo kept nodding in agreent.

“No matter, as long as we can rent a Star Destroyer, no price is too high. We just need to get through this critical period, buy so ti, and our entire operation will co back to life. By then, the Federation will have its own Star Destroyer fleet.”

Alles’ eyes suddenly sparkled with anticipation.

“Uh, that’s exactly what I was thinking.”

Su Mo didn’t plan on renting long-term either, it was a perfect match. He was originally wondering how to make up a reason to say long-term rental wasn’t possible.

“By the way, what are the terms of the lease?”

Alles raised his head to ask Su Mo.

“500 billion Star Coins a year, plus two types of rare ores, specifically Cruiser Superalloy Ore and Gamma Kilo Ore.”

Su Mo said with a bit of a guilty conscience, wondering if he might be overcharging.

Alles frowned, pondering sothing.

Seeing this, Su Mo’s heart started to drum, wondering if his price was too high or if so trick had been discovered.

The two ores he requested were actually precisely what was in the Federation’s resource depot. Su Mo knew this because he had sent them back from Ceres, knowing they were in very limited supply.

“Council President, if you…”

Su Mo was about to suggest negotiating a lower price.

Just then, Alles replied, “The price is a bit lower than I expected. I thought that old man would at least ask for a hefty sum at this critical mont. Whatever he asks for, we would have to swallow it.”

Hearing this, Su Mo was tempted to give himself a slap. His heart wasn’t ruthless enough after all.

He lacked the qualities of a profiteer, mainly because he had so qualms about renting to his own country. If it were to soone else, he’d definitely gouge them.

“Haha, actually, the initial offer was quite high, but I bargained with him for a long ti.”

Su Mo replied with a slightly forced smile.

“I knew it, you worked hard. This ti you’ve made another significant contribution; the Federation won’t forget your efforts.”

Alles patted Su Mo’s shoulder sincerely.

“It’s what I should do, but Council President, renting this ship also requires…”

Su Mo decided to go all the way, to avoid being exposed or any accidents.

Before Su Mo could finish, Alles smiled and said, “You don’t need to say it; I understand. Renting sothing always requires a deposit, especially for such a top-tier Star Destroyer. I’ve seen the Phantom Flower myself, and it’s not an ordinary Star Destroyer; it’s worth at least a trillion Star Coins, if not more.”

Su Mo’s heart jumped; he almost wondered if he was truly the old man’s long-lost grandson.

Had he bought it at a low price with half-credit and half-purchase? It seed way too easy.

“Uh, yes, the deposit is indeed a headache?”

Su Mo replied with a cough, thinking about how to lower the deposit amount. The Federation surely couldn’t afford a trillion Star Coins, after all.

“Hold on.”

Alles stood up and walked to a special compartnt in a bookshelf behind him.

He took out a very unique black box.

Su Mo was puzzled, not understanding what Alles was doing. Could it be that the box contained a trillion Star Coins?

Alles handed the black box to Su Mo and solemnly said, “Take this back to that old man and tell him it’s the deposit.”

“What is this? Can I open it to take a look?”

Su Mo asked curiously.

“Don’t open this box. It contains a Negative God Fragnt, and opening it would be dangerous.”

Alles warned earnestly.

Upon hearing this, Su Mo’s eyes widened, and the Fake Owner·Swallower inside him stirred.

Had Alles not been in the room, it would probably have co out by now.

“This….”

Su Mo imdiately felt like he had a hot potato in his hands.

“Don’t be surprised; although the Negative God Fragnt is dangerous, its value is extrely high. As far as I know, Star Ring City has been pouring a fortune into acquiring these fragnts. Of course, we’re not going to sell to Star Ring City. That would be foolish. Anything that Star Ring City is relentless about acquiring must be sothing truly good and is our path forward, although we’re currently unsure of its use. We will soday unravel it all.”

Alles said to Su Mo solemnly.

“Uh~ You’re right, Council President. I’ll take it. I’ll handle it and bring it to you tomorrow. Rest assured, I’ll get it done and won’t disappoint you.”

Su Mo promised with determination, steeling himself to take the Negative God Fragnt.

But he sowhat regretted ntioning the deposit. He’d just given himself a real headache with a hot potato.

“I trust you; the Federation’s future relies on you.”

Alles responded with confidence, the gloom in his heart completely dispelled.

Monts later, Su Mo walked out of the office.

It was finally settled. The Federation’s crisis should be resolved, and he also got the permit, so he didn’t need to keep earning contribution points. According to Alles, he’d rent it for two or three years at most, and once the Federation developed its own Star Destroyer, the ship would be returned.

Additionally, he had acquired two materials for building the cha, leaving two more to go, bringing him a step closer to success.

However, whenever Su Mo thought about the cost of building the V-series cha, he got a headache. Where could he find a trillion?

Just as Su Mo reached the corridor corner.

Zzzt Zzzt!

Suddenly, the lights above flickered on and off.

The hidden caras were also entirely disabled.
