Capítulo 1250: Chapter 949: Victory Day

At that mont, a sound of footsteps was heard.

Soon after, the prison door of Su Mo’s cell was opened, and Angelo walked in with a bottle of strong liquor in one hand and a pack of barbecue in the other.

“Brother.”

“You’re here.”

Seeing that it was Angelo, Su Mo quickly sat up.

“I brought a good bottle of liquor, let’s have a drink.”

Angelo said with a sowhat somber expression.

“Brother, you don’t look so good.”

Su Mo observed Angelo closely and asked.

Angelo didn’t answer Su Mo. He just opened the bottle, poured them both a glass, raised his glass, took a big gulp, and then exhaled deeply.

“It’s hard to feel good.”

“Is it because of the conflict between the Prison Soldiers and the chanical Guards?”

Su Mo tentatively asked.

“You already know?”

Angelo was slightly taken aback and looked up at Su Mo.

“How could I not know? I was there at the ti. I’m telling you, those chanical Guards were way out of line. I was just about to ask you, did that AI · Prisoner suddenly get a mood swing? What’s been up with it lately?”

Su Mo replied, taking a bite of a skewer.

“Don’t even ntion it, Prison Director Fezack specifically went to find that guy, and I heard they had a big argunt. I’m telling you, we’ve been fed up with that thing for a long ti. It wants to control everything and always tries to overshadow us, it’s driving us crazy.”

Angelo angrily thumped the table, almost breaking it.

“Cough, cough, take it easy, don’t get mad. I’m just a bit puzzled, weren’t we told that Prison Director Fezack’s authority was supposed to be similar to that of AI · Prisoner? Then how co it feels like it’s the boss? Isn’t the power distribution a bit quirky?”

Su Mo asked curiously.

After so hesitation, Angelo whispered to Su Mo: “There’s a reason behind it, do you rember the ruins we explored?”

“I rember.”

Su Mo nodded in agreent.

“The reason the old prison exploded back then, causing such a severe accident, destroying half of Endless Deep Space Prison, and killing all the experintal personnel, was because the previous Prison Director couldn’t resist the temptation of the Negative God Fragnt and caused a tragedy by touching it recklessly. It was thanks to that AI · Prisoner responding in ti that the disaster didn’t spread further. The prison was later rebuilt, and a new director was selected, but because of the previous incident, Prison Director Fezack’s authority was reduced. Therefore, in so sense, AI · Prisoner is the true controller of this prison.”

Angelo quietly shared so confidential information with Su Mo.

“I see.”

Su Mo was also startled.

“You have no idea how frustrated we are. It’s supposed to be AI serving people, but here it turned out that we’re serving it. It goes about doing whatever it wants, and we were working so hard to develop the ruins just to find the lost items and present them to Lord Icaroya to prove that we’re okay, hoping to get back the lost authority. But as you saw, that moron snatched it away.”

Angelo replied, feeling extrely aggrieved.

“Don’t be mad, let’s eat, let’s eat…”

Su Mo awkwardly consoled Angelo, initially thinking of asking him to speak to Fezack to see if there was sothing that could be done about the AI · Prisoner. Judging by how things look, he’s better off keeping his head down.

The next morning, Su Mo was sound asleep in bed.

He was sleeping soundly when Long Ke hurriedly woke him up.

“Brother, wake up, don’t sleep!”

Su Mo opened his eyes and asked, “What’s going on?”

“It’s ti to work. I know you don’t have to work, but who knows if those chanical Guards will go crazy.”

Long Ke forced a smile at Su Mo.

Su Mo imdiately snapped to attention and quickly got up, saying, “You’re right, makes sense.”

Just then, several chanical Guards approached, causing a sudden tension among the crowd.

But to everyone’s surprise, the chanical Guards didn’t harm anyone. They rely stated chanically, “Preparation ti: 30 minutes. As long as you don’t exceed the ti, you won’t be punished.”

Then the chanical Guards left.

Leaving behind a crowd of prisoners looking at each other in surprise.

“What’s going on?”

“Not sure? Really true?”

“Best to move quickly.”

Su Mo was also puzzled. Had the chanical Guards had a change of heart?

With many questions in mind, all the prisoners left the cells and headed to the work area.

Not long after, they arrived at the work area.

A chanical Guard announced to everyone, “All rules restored to previous state, increased workload canceled. Do not slack off, or punishnt will be severe.”

“Great, finally back to normal.”

Hearing the latest directive announced, many prisoners imdiately cheered.

The originally composed faces of the Prison Guards eased slightly, although they still didn’t look too happy.

Upon closer inspection, many soldiers present were reluctant to get too close to the chanical Guards.

Though the matter had passed, the ntal hurdle had yet to be overco.

Su Mo took a long breath as he watched, appearing as if the storm had finally subsided. Prison Director Fezack must have given that guy a real talking to, and the matter was perfectly resolved.

At this mont, Long Ke, feeling assured, approached Su Mo with a smile and asked:

“Brother, it seems there’s nothing more to worry about. Can I grab sothing to eat?”

“You sure know how to pick a mont. Why didn’t you co to mooch off when things were so tightly managed a few days ago?”

Su Mo said, both annoyed and amused.

“Hey~ Brother, I wouldn’t dare. Those chanical Guards wouldn’t chop to pieces.”

Long Ke replied with a sly grin.

“Go ahead, eat. You’re lucky to have covering for you; that’s why you’ve got sothing to eat. Others probably won’t get to eat in their lifeti.”

Su Mo joked with Long Ke in good spirits.

“Not so, in five days it’s Victory Day. Everyone will have a day off then; both soldiers and prisoners can feast for a day.”

Long Ke said while eating.

“This is the Interstellar Era, and there are still holidays like that?”

Su Mo said in surprise.

“Yes, it’s a Star Ring City regulation, once a year, and the celebration is quite significant. Just think, if even a place like ours can benefit, how important must this holiday be! Brother, I’m telling you, this is the day we look forward to the most each year.”

“What’s this holiday about anyway?”

“Ask , who should I ask? We can’t figure out its origin. Probably celebrating the victory of so war.”

Long Ke couldn’t articulate further.

“Forget it, asking you is a waste.”

Su Mo didn’t dwell on it.

“Co on, Brother, that’s a bit unfair. I know a lot as it is. It’s just that Star Ring City isn’t like other civilizations; they keep a lot of things secret, and you can’t really figure it out. Honestly, I suspect that Star Ring City does this intentionally to create a sense of mystery, so no one dares to ss with them.”

Long Ke said confidently.

“Nonsense, it doesn’t need to create any mystery at all, it’s already mysterious enough! Who would dare to ss with it, they’d have to be out of their minds.”

Su Mo rolled his eyes in exasperation.
