Su Mo circled around the chas, occasionally touching them and remarked, "You’re showing so much, is this just to show off your wealth in front of ?"

"Haha, you’re overthinking it. I just wanted to show you around. But if you think I’m bragging, that’s fine, though I’m not that shallow."

Xia Weiya found Su Mo increasingly interesting.

"Ahem, I didn’t say you’re shallow, but is it okay to leave the chas here? Shouldn’t they be in the hangar? You might not be able to use them when needed."

"You don’t need to worry about that, there’s a special exit channel that can lead outside Radiant City, as well as to its interior and the hangar."

"There’s such an operation?"

"Don’t be surprised, once you get promoted to the Royal Order, you’ll enjoy the sa benefits."

Xia Weiya explained to Su Mo nonchalantly.

"Uh, it’s still early, not sure if I can get promoted."

"I have high hopes for you."

"Thank you."

Su Mo coughed a bit to express his gratitude.

"Co on, let’s go up and have so afternoon tea."

Xia Weiya suggested after a short stroll with Su Mo.

"Sure."

Su Mo nodded.

Xia Weiya led Su Mo to a separate auxiliary elevator, which took them directly to the garden.

In a nearby pavilion, a servant had already prepared an exquisite afternoon tea.

"Try these, these pastries are specialties of our Laurel Kingdom."

Xia Weiya recomnded.

"Very nice."

Su Mo picked up a delicate yellow pastry, tasted it, and found it lted in his mouth with a sweet and delicious flavor.

"Have more if you like."

Xia Weiya watched Su Mo eat with interest and took a sip from her hot coffee.

After a long while, Xia Weiya spoke, "Su Mo, what do you think of as a person?"

Su Mo almost choked on his saliva upon hearing Xia Weiya’s question: "Ahem, why ask this all of a sudden."

"I just want to hear your opinion."

"Well, I actually think you’re quite good."

"A bit insincere."

"No, not at all, you’re really quite good."

"That’s fine then."

"By the way, did you invite here for any specific reason?"

Su Mo looked at Xia Weiya curiously.

"Can’t I just invite you without a reason?"

"Of course you can."

"That’s good, today is just casual chatting between friends, no tedious stuff."

"Alright."

Su Mo couldn’t quite figure out Xia Weiya’s intention but decided to go with the flow.

...

By evening, Su Mo walked out of Xia Weiya’s house carrying a bag of pastries, feeling sowhat dazed.

He really spent an entire afternoon just chatting at Xia Weiya’s place.

On the way back, Su Mo muttered to the creator-Swallower.

"Ti flies, suddenly it’s evening."

"You’re still in the mood to waste ti here. Radiant City is less than seven or eight days from its destination. Once the city is raised there’s nothing for you to do, you’d better start finding out about the Pala Fruit."

The creator-Swallower replied in a low voice.

Su Mo stopped and pondered for a while, then changed his direction.

"Where are you going?"

"Going to work."

...

More than half an hour later, Su Mo appeared in an apartnt building in Zone B4.

Following a searched address, he found a room.

Knock knock!

Su Mo knocked on the door.

It wasn’t long before the door was cautiously opened, and Luo Yue’s little head poked out.

"Who?"

"It’s ."

Su Mo said softly.

Seeing Su Mo standing at the door, Luo Yue hurriedly opened the door fully, surprised.

"Commander Su Mo, why are you here?"

"Just happened to pass by, thought I’d take a look."

Su Mo casually made up an excuse and naturally walked inside.

Luo Yue’s apartnt wasn’t large, just about seventy square ters, with almost no furniture.

Only so rather old tables and chairs.

On the table was a small bowl of thin porridge and a small dish of pickles, with a spoon placed nearby.

Su Mo looked closely and was shocked at Luo Yue: "Is this your dinner?"

"Uh, yes."

Luo Yue replied sowhat awkwardly, rubbing her hands.

Su Mo couldn’t believe it as he examined Luo Yue closely, curious: "You eat just this? Isn’t it too poor?"

"Actually, it’s not that bad."

Luo Yue answered with so guilt.

Su Mo then inspected the surroundings more carefully, finding nothing—it was really bare.

Even though his own apartnt was empty, it was only because he was too lazy to decorate.

Besides, he might be dispatched on missions at any ti and could be away for six months or a year.

But Luo Yue’s case was different, she had moved so old furniture over.

Su Mo took a deeper look at Luo Yue, only then noticing her casual ho clothes looked sowhat worn, and asked in disbelief.

"Is Star Ring City withholding your salary, or is the wage for task dispatchers too low?"

"No, no."

Luo Yue quickly shook her head.

The scene made Su Mo recall Xia Weiya’s living area—it was like heaven and earth, so exaggerated.

"Then what’s going on? You can’t be that stingy, right? Eating just this?"

Su Mo pulled up a chair to sit and inquire.

But as soon as he sat down, the chair tilted, making Su Mo jump up quickly.

"Commander Su Mo, it’s okay. The chair is usable, it’s just a bit wobbly, but very sturdy."

Luo Yue hastened to explain.

Su Mo’s mouth twitched slightly, saying to Luo Yue: "You don’t have to be that thrifty. Why save so much money—can’t take it with you when you die."

"I, I don’t have money."

Luo Yue looked like a child who had done wrong, her head bowed low.

"Where’s your salary then?"

Su Mo got increasingly puzzled, asking directly.

"Sent it back."

Luo Yue hesitated but decided to confess to Su Mo.

"Sent to whom?"

Su Mo was dumbfounded, though he had briefly looked into the task dispatcher position.

This was a coveted role, valuable for securing resources for muscle. It had always been others trying to ingratiate themselves, not sending salary elsewhere.

"Sent to our tribe, to help support the people’s survival."

Luo Yue responded with her head down.

"Wait, I thought you were from Second Birthplace-Mardon Kingdom. No matter how weak your kingdom is, you shouldn’t struggle to survive, right?"

Su Mo was confused.

"You don’t understand, the upper class is the upper class, the lower class is the lower class. Actually, the bottom of any country lives pretty tough."

Luo Yue replied through clenched teeth.

"That can’t be?"

Su Mo’s expression shifted as he spoke.
