Every path leads to death.”
Li Ruiqi stared at the map, unable to figure out how to make use of the area.
Zhou Lie said with a smile, “Why think so much?
Give the young ones so freedom to perform, and there might be so unexpected surprises.”
….
On the eastern side of the Qilong Plain battlefield, the Alliance Army began to advance bit by bit.
Xiao Wen’s forces started to be squeezed, just as he had anticipated.
As the battle dragged on, their firepower began to weaken, lacking in stamina.
Once the firepower weakened, the casualty rate increased, and Qian Chengxue’s troops began to suffer heavy casualties.
In the communication channel, reports from various team leaders kept coming.
“Third group, the eighteenth squadron has lost more than half.”
“First group, seventh cha squadron, more than half destroyed.”
…
anwhile, Qian Chengxue, who was in reserve, could no longer stand by.
She initiated contact with Xiao Wen over the communication channel.
“Commander Xiao Wen, how about letting Su Mo and I go up and help?”
“No need.”
“But it seems the battle is turning against us, they are almost upon us,”
Qian Chengxue calmly replied.
“No worries, pass my command, all units orderly retreat backward, shift the defensive line back, and continue the delaying battle!”
Xiao Wen imdiately issued the order to everyone.
“Understood!”
The crowd responded in unison.
Thereupon, Xiao Wen’s front began an orderly retreat while still engaged in battle.
Su Mo watched Xiao Wen’s actions with so confusion.
This could work temporarily, but eventually, they would have nowhere to retreat to.
In the Freedom Alliance Forces, Putmi, holding binoculars, watched every move Xiao Wen made.
General Emaya said, “Their behavior is abnormal.
We’ve pushed them so hard, yet they don’t fire the nuclear bomb and keep retreating instead, plus those two third-generation chas aren’t joining the fight either.”
“Let them retreat.
I want to see just how far they can go.
As for those two third-generation chas, if they dare show up, I wouldn’t mind obliterating them.”
Putmi’s eyes were bloodshot.
Emaya took a deep breath as she spoke sternly.
“This cannot go on, we’ll take so troops and launch a surprise attack on their command center, behead their leaders.”
“Are you confident?”
“No confidence, but has our Freedom Victory Guild ever been afraid?”
Emaya’s gaze was resolute.
“Alright!”
Putmi nodded in agreent.
Emaya then turned to Gegil and said, “Let’s go!”
“Hey, hey, when did I agree to go up?
If you want to die, don’t drag into it!”
Gegil grumbled, but his body honestly followed her.
…
Then, a squadron of second-generation Silver Light chas, highly mobile, split into two groups and maneuvered around both sides of the battlefield.
Emaya’s strategy was simple: a two-pronged assault.
At the rear of the 16th Legion, Su Mo lay in a chair, his eyes closed, resting while listening to the conversations on the communication channel to stay updated with the dynamics of the war.
Just then, Ma Qi’s urgent voice suddenly ca over the communication channel.
“It’s bad, the right flank defense area is under attack by an elite cha squadron, we can’t hold much longer!
The lead is a third-generation cha!
It has broken through, Commander Xiao Wen, be careful, they’re probably heading for you.”
At that mont, Xiao Wen responded in a firm voice, “Keep it together, hold your lines.
We’ll handle the enemy who’s broken through.”
No sooner had he finished speaking than a huge explosion sounded within the camp, a crimson figure burst in at an incredible speed, slaughtering like a god of war, with none of the chas able to withstand it.
“Su Mo, it seems sothing has gone wrong.
I’m going to save Xiao Wen, you stay here and stand by,”
Qian Chengxue told Su Mo before launching her Yuan Demon cha and charging forth.
“Wait for …”
Su Mo was about to start his cha to follow and assist, when suddenly Lin Zinuo’s urgent voice ca through the communication channel.
“Su Mo, where are you?”
“What’s the matter?”
Su Mo asked, slightly startled.
“Out of nowhere, many Second Generation chas appeared on our side, each with formidable combat power.
Our brothers and sisters are getting killed one by one; we can hardly hold on anymore,” Lin Zinuo’s voice sounded almost tearful, this being the first ti she witnessed so much death and injury among her own people.
“I’m coming right away!”
Su Mo had a bad feeling; knowing that Commander Xiao Wen had specially arranged Quian Chengxue’s troops on the left wing to protect them, they shouldn’t be facing such a fierce attack.
Su Mo violently thrust the control stick forward, and the Slaughter Blade cha, like an awakened beast, charged out.
It wasn’t long before Su Mo reached the left wing battlefield.
There, rows of Silver Light chas were moving in high-mobility S-patterns, interweaving and slashing towards Lin Zinuo’s group with Alloy Blades in hand, sweeping past like blades of death.
Crack!
One by one, Green Shield chas were cleaved at their critical points, crashing down as they were struck.
Su Mo frowned; the combat ability of these surprise attackers was in no way comparable to the cannon fodder they faced before.
At that mont, Sun Li and Chen ng, piloting the Second Generation Black Steel chas, attacked a leading Silver Light cha.
The gray Alloy Spear pierced fiercely through the air.
Unfortunately, it was useless.
The Silver Light cha swiftly flipped over in the air to dodge the attack and directly landed both its legs on the shoulders of Sun Li and Chen ng’s chas, pushing off powerfully.
Sun Li and Chen ng awkwardly lurched forward.
“We can’t beat them, call back so of the troops from the front to encircle and eliminate them,” Chen ng said breathlessly.
“No, Commander Xiao Wen ordered that no troops in each defensive zone may reposition or retreat on their own.
It would collapse the entire frontline.”
“Then what do we do, should we just go for it?”
Chen ng was prepared to risk everything.
At this mont, Su Mo’s eyes narrowed; the cha’s maneuvers very much resembled those of the woman who had tried to pry open his cockpit last ti.
So, Su Mo maneuvered the Slaughter Blade towards her.
“Su Mo is here!”
Just as Sun Li was unsure what to do, she saw the swiftly approaching Slaughter Blade and excitedly exclaid.
Emaya imdiately noticed Su Mo barreling towards them and without hesitation, she gave the command,
“Block him!”
Suddenly, a mixed force of Green Shield chas and Silver Light chas fearlessly charged forward, accompanied by so chanical dogs.
Su Mo’s eyes narrowed, and he imdiately slowed down, waving his beam saber to cut down the attacking enemies.
He made sure not to slice too many at once, lest he exploded too many chas equipped with Strong Magnetic Bombs like the last ti.
Indeed, as Su Mo slashed down one of the Green Shield chas, the enemy cha exploded, releasing a red thunder light.
Su Mo’s cha hesitated slightly, then he quickly controlled his cha to distance himself.
Emaya’s lips curved slightly; she wasn’t foolish enough to attack without preparations.
She had installed a large number of Strong Magnetic Bombs on various chas and chanical dogs.
If Su Mo dared to massacre her forces, she would dare to pile them up and send them to their deaths.
Of course, she thought Su Mo wasn’t that foolish to fall for that, but if he didn’t, he would be overly cautious during the fight.
This way, Emaya could slowly wear down Su Mo.
Just as Su Mo had wiped out a wave of enemies, Emaya waved her hand, and a crowd of surprise attackers surged forward.
Su Mo, seeing the endless stream of enemies, knew their intent and internally vowed resolve.
With every enemy that ca, he would kill another, eager to see who would falter first.
Thus, Su Mo rapidly typed a series of commands, making the Slaughter Blade cha charge at the enemies with great speed, striking down foe after foe, swiftly retreating after each kill to avoid traps.
….
Three hours later,
Su Mo’s hands were nearly numb, with chanical debris everywhere; he couldn’t even rember how many enemies he had destroyed.
But the enemies kept coming as if they were infinite.
Su Mo’s breathing grew heavy; he wanted to strike down Emaya desperately, but she was guarded by chas equipped with Strong Magnetic Interference Bombs.
Then, Commander Xiao Wen’s voice ca through the communication channel.
“All units, retreat imdiately!”
Su Mo’s heart sank; the main force was retreating.
If there were no mishaps, they must have been overwheld.
He had hoped to find an opportunity to strike down Emaya, but it seed he would have to give up.
At that mont, Emaya received a prompt from York.
“General Emaya, the enemy’s forces have begun to retreat,”
Hearing this, Emaya commanded in a grave voice,
“We retreat as well!”
If the frontline defensive forces retreated, she couldn’t afford to stick around any longer; she wasn’t ready to et a hero’s death just yet.
