39: Chapter 39: Giving Up 39: Chapter 39: Giving Up “There’s a problem, ga over.

Notify everyone to act according to the plan, we’re pulling out,” York said as he glanced at his bracelet for the ti.

It was almost the designated ti, so he turned and spoke to his team.

“Understood!”

All the special forces aid their guns at the captives and then began to retreat slowly.

When they reached the periter, York said to Kani, “Detonate the bomb.”

“But Jeddo’s squad hasn’t pulled out yet.”

“Radio them, give them 30 seconds to take out the enemy.”

York glanced at the ti on his bracelet.

“Okay.”

Kani responded.

Seconds ticked by, and soon the 30 seconds were up.

“Pull out!

That’s an order.”

York looked at his bracelet again.

The zombie tide had likely begun its assault on the city, it was ti to retreat!

Kani and the others had no choice but to follow orders.

On the third floor of the gymnasium, squad mbers one by one were killed by Su Mo, including two more who arrived later and also fell victim.

A five-man squad was entirely wiped out, and to their death, they couldn’t understand how.

The team leader losing a hand-to-hand combat was one thing, but in shooting, they were completely taken down, and it was four against one.

Hiding behind Su Mo, Lan Xi was stunned.

Su Mo was almost shooting blindly, without really aiming, but his accuracy was surprisingly high.

Thinking about how formidable Su Mo was, Lan Xi couldn’t help but excitedly exclaim.

“Too impressive!”

However, they were unaware that danger was quietly approaching.

Just then, a tir bomb installed at the base of the gymnasium flickered its lights and turned red.

Boom~~~

A huge blast erupted!

But because the number and yield of bombs installed were insufficient, only one-third of the huge gymnasium collapsed.

The intense shake made Su Mo and Lan Xi sway, unsteady on their feet.

Rows of steel structures and pieces of glass above their heads fell down.

“Be careful!”

Lan Xi instinctively stretched out his hands and pushed Su Mo away.

Boom~~~

The enormous steel structure directly buried them both.

As the dust settled, Su Mo crawled out of the crevice, his body only slightly cut by the shattered glass.

Whereas Lan Xi was hit by the massive steel structure in his lower body, his blood soaking the floor.

With a grim face, Su Mo squatted in front of Lan Xi who, facing death, managed a feeble smile and weakly said to Su Mo, “This ti, I didn’t betray you, did I?”

Looking at Lan Xi’s bitter smile, Su Mo’s heart clenched.

His lips parted and his fingers squeezed tightly, wanting to say sothing, but in the end, he didn’t.

At that mont, Lan Xi slowly closed his eyes, hands falling, his life completely fading, exiting the ga.

Su Mo slowly stood up, moved forward, and buried the body.

He then took a deep breath, and beneath his calm face, a hint of anger surfaced.

At that mont, he was thoroughly enraged.

Casually removing his backpack and dropping it on the ground, keeping only his weapon, he charged out swiftly.

Right then, Su Mo’s mind was simple: take them all out regardless of their reasons for attacking the safe zone.

In any case, they must die.

—————-

In the ruined city, dark masses of zombies approached from the distant horizon, flooding in like a tide.

Players still in the city looking for treasures were flabbergasted.

“What’s happening?”

“Run!”

Unfortunately, it was too late, and they were overwheld.

On the outskirts of the gymnasium, York led the remaining team mbers, sprinting towards their designated destination with a sowhat troubled expression.

A training exercise that should have been foolproof had unexpectedly suffered casualties, losing an entire squad.

At this mont, a nimble figure was approaching rapidly.

Like a cold, venomous snake, it fixed its gaze on its prey.

When he closed the distance, the shadow raised his M92F automatic pistol and aid at the last team mber.

Bang!

Instantly, a team mber was hit in the left leg and fell to the ground.

He then clutched his left foot and cursed convulsively.

“Damn it, I’m hit!”

York’s heart sank, if he wasn’t mistaken, a master was targeting them, they had run into tough resistance.

He raised his gun and sprayed bullets toward Su Mo, shouting deeply.

“Zac, carry him, everyone speed up the retreat!”

“Yes.”

Zac imdiately helped his teammate.

But Su Mo gave them no chance; he leaped forward, rolled over on the ground to another cover, and then stood up and shot at Zac once again.

Bang!

Zac’s left leg was also hit.

Zac staggered and both he and the injured teammate fell to the ground.

“Asshole!”

York glanced over, his eyes turning sharper.

This ti they had truly run into tough resistance; it was clear that their opponent was aiming to injure as many of them as possible and wanted to keep everyone behind, indeed a very arrogant and dangerous enemy.

If it weren’t for the limited ti, with a massive swarm of zombies sweeping in, York would have really liked to test himself against this opponent.

So, he pulled out two smoke bombs, removed the pins, and threw them, all while grinding his teeth and giving the order.

“Abandon rescue, retreat.”

The teammates on the side were reluctant, but they had to follow the order, running toward a steel structure building in the distance.

As York retreated, he kept an eye on the smoke-covered area, confident he could kill that guy on the spot if he dared to co out.

However, unexpectedly, that guy didn’t follow them.

Instead, large numbers of zombies began to appear in the distance, attacking like a tide.

Seeing this, York turned and accelerated towards the building.

At this mont, in the sky above, several transport helicopters descended from high above, lowering rope ladders.

York and his team climbed to the top of the steel structure, and one by one, the team mbers began to orderly climb onto the transport helicopters.

Soon, the first transport helicopter was filled, and it ascended into the sky.

“GO!

GO!”

York kept urging the team mbers to get on, not knowing why but his heart was growing more restless, a very unpleasant feeling lingering in his mind.

Soon the second transport was also filled with people.

“Climb high, go!”

Just then, Su Mo suddenly appeared from the side of the steel frawork.

He raised his automatic pistol, aiming at the rotor hub of the ard helicopter, and opened fire viciously!

Bang, bang, bang~~

Every shot hit its mark!

Crack!

Instantly, the rotor of the transport helicopter malfunctioned, and the whole helicopter lost control, swaying wildly before finally crashing down into the dense horde of corpses below.

Boom~~

A massive explosion burst into flas skyrocketing into the air.

York’s expression grew even grimr; he turned around and swept his gun toward Su Mo’s location, covering the remaining team mbers as they evacuated.

Soon, the remaining team mbers boarded the last helicopter.

Kani anxiously said to York, “Coach, it’s ti to go.”

Just as York reached out to grab the rope ladder.

Bang!

The sound of a gunshot rang out again, this ti hitting the rope ladder.

York pulled back his hand; he clearly understood the opponent’s motive.

They could have easily shot him, but they chose not to, clearly wanting to use him to trap everyone there.
