Chapter 691: Chapter 557: The Dream (Extra for Silver Alliance Leader Arain) (Part 4)

You should know that when he first started working for Xiao Wen, he only made fifteen Star Coins a month, and that was with Xiao Wen looking out for him.

As for joining the GT departnt later on, he never really paid much attention to his salary.

Since the amount wasn’t large, it was directly deposited into his card.

Just as Su Mo was about to put away the envelope, Victor suddenly popped up from behind him, snatched the envelope from Su Mo’s hands with swift movents, and said with a laugh,

“Let take a look for you.”

“Hey, hey, you’re crossing the line, Victor.”

Su Mo was also a bit annoyed. Ever since he got Victor’s approval, the guy really had stopped being polite with him.

“It’s fine, we can all take a look together. If it’s too much, I’ll share so with you.”

Victor said generously.

At this mont, Qian Chengxue, Karina, and others were also curious and looked over.

They saw Victor quickly opening the envelope in excitent, pulling out the salary statent, and reading it out loud.

Su Mo

Position: Major, GT departnt reserve mber (pending review)

Base Salary: 8000 Star Coins

Full Attendance Reward: 1000 Star Coins

Extra Settlent Reward: 1000000 Star Coins

Total: 1009000 Star Coins.

“Holy shit, am I seeing this right? How can the settlent be so high?”

Victor himself was dumbfounded.

For a mont, everyone present was bewildered, including Lin Ming who was incredulous.

Su Mo was also a bit confused and said,

“Could it be a mistake? With a few extra zeros added?”

Victor flipped through the contents of the envelope and found the Star Coin exchange ticket, which indeed had the number 1009000 written clearly on it.

As Towes and others confird that the number was correct, they began to look at Su Mo differently.

“Why are you all looking at like that? I have no idea what’s going on,”

Su Mo thought to himself nervously. Although his salary was much higher than theirs, they shouldn’t be looking at him with such expressions, right? Everyone present should be well off, not to ntion Lin Ming – the Lin Family was also making a good amount of money.

“This isn’t just a problem of getting a bit more salary. Your salary grade is being paid at the Admiral level, which is the standard for people like Wang Hai. Also, the bonus amount is wrong too; I heard their bonuses were only 300000 Star Coins.”

Lin Ming said, his tone laced with a hint of envy.

“There must be a problem sowhere…”

Su Mo himself was almost at his wits’ end, feeling like he was being pushed to the brink.

“Commander Su Mo, there can’t be a mistake with the salary slip. Whatever is written is what you get.”

At that mont, the girl who was distributing the pay suddenly said, shivering.

“See, Su Mo, you’re going to get a promotion. You should treat us!”

Victor shouted excitedly, one would think it was he who was getting the promotion.

“Next ti, I have sothing to take care of and need to go,”

Su Mo beat a hasty retreat. Staying any longer would have made him the butt of jokes.

Without another word, Qian Chengxue also followed.

Watching Su Mo and Qian Chengxue leave, Karina, who had been all smiles, showed a touch of faint sadness.

“Sigh.”

Not long after, Su Mo and Qian Chengxue left the GT departnt.

Su Mo let out a long sigh of relief.

“Finally safe, it’s totally bizarre. They actually settled such a high salary for .”

“Is getting a high salary a bad thing?”

Qian Chengxue teased him with a light chuckle.

“It’s not that, it just feels strange. Sister Xue, is this salary really being paid according to the position?”

“Yes.”

Qian Chengxue nodded solemnly.

After listening, Su Mo touched his forehead which only exacerbated the headache—if this were really the case, things would be troubleso.

“Alright, stop worrying about your headache. Do you want to go deposit your money, make a good transfer back ho? I guess this is the first ti you’ve gotten your hands on so much money, right?”

Qian Chengxue asked with a smile.

“Yeah, let’s do it together.”

Curious about Qian Chengxue actually wanting to transfer money, Su Mo agreed.

“Okay, then let’s go ho first.”

Qian Chengxue naturally said this to Su Mo.

“Okay.”

Not long after, Su Mo followed Qian Chengxue back to their house in the Upper City District.

As Su Mo approached Qian Chengxue’s house, he clearly noticed a change; the entire house was very tidy.

He subconsciously glanced at the trash can.

Seeing Su Mo’s action, Qian Chengxue’s face instantly turned red, and she spoke.

“What are you looking at?”

“Nothing, nothing, I was just checking for trash, to help you take it out.”

Su Mo was also struck by a pang of conscience and hastily explained.

“Wait here for a mont.”

“Okay.”

Su Mo loitered in the living room.

At that mont, Qian Chengxue brought out a tal box from the bedroom, sat down on the couch, opened the box, and began counting sothing.

Su Mo, curious, walked over to have a look.

He was surprised to find Qian Chengxue holding a small stack of Star Coin exchange tickets, counting them seriously to see how many Star Coins she had saved.

Glancing over them, Su Mo noted that the denominations of the Star Coin exchange tickets were not large; the biggest were around three thousand or so, suggesting that these were Qian Chengxue’s wages over the years.

“Sister Xue, don’t you spend your salary normally? Why keep it all here?”

Su Mo asked curiously.

“Mhm.”

Qian Chengxue counted and responded simultaneously.

“What are you saving all this for?”

Su Mo asked, puzzled.

Upon hearing Su Mo’s question, Qian Chengxue looked up, smiled, and said to him,

“For a dream.”

“What dream?”

Su Mo inquired, astonished.

“I am hoping that one day I can save up enough money to rebuild the company I had to disband.”

Qian Chengxue spoke to Su Mo with conviction.

“Oh, I see. What made you suddenly want to start a company? Are you unhappy in the GT departnt?”

“Not exactly. I don’t quite know how to explain this to you. The fact that I sold the company, to a large extent, was out of my control—I really had no choice. And the ones I let down the most when I sold the company were Sun Li and her sisters. You have no idea how they were weeping the day I announced we had to disband. It was incredibly painful for too; we had been together for over a decade and they were just like real sisters to . Sun Li and the others even wanted to follow , regardless of anything, but I couldn’t take them with . My current job, to put it bluntly, is licking blood on the edge of a knife; I can’t drag them into this. But it’s okay. Once I have saved enough money, everything will be fine. Now I’m one big step closer to my goal.”

By the end of her speech, Qian Chengxue’s eyes were slightly moist.

“So, who are you going to send this money to?”

“Sun Li.”

Qian Chengxue replied, very happily.

After hearing this, Su Mo took out his recently received wages from his pocket and handed them to Qian Chengxue.

“Count in.”

Qian Chengxue was montarily stunned then quickly shook her head.

“No, that’s your money.”

“It’s fine, just take it.”

Su Mo replied nonchalantly; his private gig may have been docked here and there, leaving not much, just over 1.3 million. But earning more from a few more jobs would eventually add up to a good sum.

However, Qian Chengxue was different; her money was hard-earned. Relying solely on salary and rewards, how long would it take to save up enough?
