"Mika, you can’t be greedy, there’s a fixed amount for each al, and if you eat too much now, there will be none left for the next al,"
Mina said with the air of an adult, patiently instructing.
Although she herself was not very tall and was just a little girl, she acted exceptionally mature and sensible.
"Here, take this and eat,"
Su Mo, seeing the situation, handed over the paper bag filled with fruit.
For a mont, many children eagerly looked over.
"No, this absolutely won’t do, we haven’t properly hosted our guests, how can we take sothing from them?"
Mina shook her head incessantly.
"Why worry about those things?"
Rose took the paper bag from Su Mo’s hands, imdiately pulled out so fruit, and handed them out to the children present.
"Thank you, sister!"
The children present joyfully accepted the fruits.
"Rose, sister, this isn’t right,"
Mina was montarily at a loss for words.
"It’s okay, it’s all minor matters,"
Rose replied with a smile.
Just then, a little girl about seven or eight years old shouted, "Sister, Xiao Ruo has peed again, the diaper’s soaked through."
"Sister, Little Mila has pooped, it’s in her pants..."
.....
"Haven’t I taught you all?"
Mina said, hands on her hips, a bit angrily.
However, after scolding, she hurriedly went to help, although she was a bit overwheld at the mont.
"Let’s give a hand,"
Su Mo turned his head and said to Rose.
When Rose heard what Su Mo said, she looked at him more intently. Most people would be put off by these issues, but she was surprised Su Mo was willing to help.
"Yeah, okay,"
So the two of them stepped forward to lend a hand.
...
A mont later, after being busy for a while, they finally managed to take care of these trivial matters.
"Go wash your hands and feet and head to bed," Mina called out.
Following her command, the children obediently ran towards the washroom.
At this mont, Mina’s grandfather, holding two cups of clear tea, ca over and said, "Co, have a cup of tea."
"Thank you,"
Su Mo and Rose accepted the tea.
Turning to Mina, her grandfather tiredly said, "You entertain the guests, I’m going to rest."
"Grandpa, you go rest,"
Mina quickly nodded.
After Su Mo took a sip of tea, he casually asked Mina during their small talk,
"Mina, are your father and mother not at ho?"
Upon hearing Su Mo’s question, Mina’s face, usually filled with optimism and innocence, imdiately dimd, and she softly replied,
"They sacrificed themselves a year ago."
"I’m sorry,"
Su Mo’s expression stiffened, and he replied with a bitter smile, not realizing his casual remark would hit a sore spot.
"It’s okay, I’ve gotten used to it,"
Mina lifted her head and responded with a brilliant smile.
Rose reached out her hand and gently touched Mina’s head, moved as she said, "Hey, how can you manage such a big family all by yourself?"
Lowering her head, Mina said, "It’s not just . My brother works outside and sends so money back. Although grandpa’s health isn’t good, he used to manage the recycling departnt and had a decent salary, but he had to retire recently. Most importantly, I’m now an official combat mber, which cos with a substantial stipend and benefits. At least their school fees can be halved, and if we can just hold on for a few more years until they grow up, everything will be alright."
"You didn’t join the army just to support them, did you?"
Su Mo asked thoughtfully.
"No, I actually quite liked it."
Mina said sowhat insincerely.
Rose shook her head and said, "If there were a choice, who would want to fight to the death on the battlefield. Let’s not talk about that. Mina, do you have plans tomorrow?"
"Not really, I’m on vacation lately."
Mina explained.
"How about this, why don’t you take us around Green Gore City tomorrow? Of course, we won’t let you do it for free."
Rose tried to ask.
"You don’t need to pay, Rose. You guys saved , and I was just wondering how I could thank you."
Mina quickly waved her hands and replied sincerely.
"All right then."
Seeing Mina say this, Rose did not argue further.
Su Mo pondered and then said, "Since we’re going to go shopping with Mina tomorrow, instead of running back and forth, could we stay here?"
"That should be fine, but it depends on Mina, right?"
Though Rose was a bit surprised, she thought about it and found it plausible.
"That’s definitely not a problem, I’ll clear a room for you right away."
Mina agreed without a second thought.
"No need to go through all that trouble, we’re not picky, we can just sleep in the living room."
Su Mo replied very casually.
"How could that be okay?"
Mina kept shaking her head.
"We’re not here to cause you trouble; the living room is fine, you have wooden floors here, and they’re quite comfortable to sleep on. If you insist on clearing out a room for us, we’ll just leave."
Su Mo said with a smile.
"Su Mo is right."
Rose agreed, noting that moving all the children to make room would indeed be cumberso.
"Okay then, just give a mont, and I’ll prepare so bedding for you."
After listening, Mina hesitated but finally agreed and went towards the room.
Su Mo pretended to be utterly bored and began examining the objects piled up inside the house. From what he could see, the quality of the items in the house were slightly better than those in the yard, but still not valuable at all.
Of course, except for the items specifically requested by the Fake Owner, the Swallower, which must be imnsely valuable if it showed interest in them.
But to put it bluntly, if it weren’t for the Fake Owner, the Swallower’s reminder, Su Mo would probably consider them junk.
Rose noticed Su Mo’s keen interest in the remnants of junk piled in the house and asked with so confusion,
"Is there sothing wrong with these things?"
"No, I’m just looking around."
Su Mo’s heart skipped a beat; it was no surprise coming from Rose—he only showed a slight interest, and she imdiately beca alert.
"I thought you had found sothing special."
Rose said with a laugh.
"How could there be anything? I just noticed a few collectibles that seed alright and thought about buying them."
Su Mo replied awkwardly; he was now feeling a bit caught between a rock and a hard place. If he claid he hadn’t noticed anything and later asked about acquiring that device, it would seem highly suspicious.
Having heard Su Mo’s remark, Rose sunk into thought.
Su Mo’s heart began to lift slightly, and he secretly thought,
"Could Rose also have noticed sothing?"
Just then, Rose looked up, revealing a relaxed smile, and said to Su Mo, "I didn’t realize you’re not only strong but also quite sharp. Are you planning to help Mina under the guise of being interested in so items?"
"Uh, this..."
Su Mo’s expression beca increasingly unnatural.
"It’s okay, I’m not against it; on the contrary, I think it’s a good idea."
Rose’s gaze softened even more as she looked at Su Mo.
