Anli heard Su Mo’s shout, his body stiffened for a mont, and he gritted his teeth to make the cha lower its gun barrel, firing a shot at the Black Thorn Insect that was falling in the distance.
Boom!
The huge shell exploded on the Black Thorn Insect, blasting it into a bloody ss.
However, it also affected many of the nearby people seeking refuge; they were either hit by shrapnel or affected by the shockwave of the explosion, turning the scene into sothing too horrible to endure.
At this ti, two other Type II Black Thorn Insects imdiately targeted Anli, flying toward him.
Anli’s eyes reddened as he pressed the launch button, and the firing port on the chest of the Giant Steel cha opened.
Two short-range missiles launched out.
One of the Type II Black Thorn Insects soared into the air to avoid the attack, while the other was hit directly by the missile and exploded on impact.
The Black Thorn Insect that had avoided the attack pounced toward Anli.
Anli controlled the cha to swing its Alloy Blade at it, clashing with the insect.
At that mont, the two Black Thorn Insects that had been blasted into a bloody ss were not dead; they opened their mouths and emitted an insect cry, then they both charged at Anli at the sa ti.
"Captain, be careful!"
Mina turned her head to see this scene and exclaid in horror.
"Let’s go, it’s okay, Anli can handle it," Su Mo urged Mina.
Mina could only bite her lip and continue to flee with Su Mo.
Watching Captain Anli from a distance as he faced three of them alone.
.....
Monts later, Su Mo and the others finally reached the refuge shelter. It was an enormous sloped entrance, below which lay an area resembling the structure of an air-raid shelter.
They saw about a dozen Yanas Kingdom soldiers and two first-generation chas, the Iron Guards, stationed at the mouth of the shelter, shouting continuously.
"Hurry, get inside, this refuge point is about to close!"
"We’re going in," Su Mo urged.
Mina and the others nodded and responded, "Okay."
Before long, Su Mo and the rest entered the underground shelter, which was filled with people. Looking around, it was packed with heads; there must have been tens of thousands.
Everywhere were the sounds of people sobbing from excessive fright and the cries of children.
Su Mo found a relatively spacious spot and sat down with Mina and the others.
"We should be safe for the mont."
Su Mo took a mont to observe the shelter; its ceiling was made of alloy craftsmanship, possibly offering excellent protection against attacks.
Under normal circumstances, unless specifically targeted or extrely unlucky to be attacked by a Type IV Monster, they should be fine.
The only downside was the entrance to the shelter.
If the monsters broke in through there, it would be trouble.
Mina and the rest sighed with relief upon hearing Su Mo’s words. At this ti, the children, like Little Mila, who had been tense, started crying upon hearing they were safe.
During the escape, they had been too afraid to cry, their little lips tightly held in.
Mina and the grandfather quickly squatted down to comfort each of them.
"It’s okay."
At this mont, Rose, who had been silent, walked over to Su Mo and whispered, "Su Mo, I don’t feel safe here. We’re too close to that Type III insect. It’s quite possible that the fleeing crowd might attract it here, and then this place might beco dangerous."
Su Mo’s lips moved slightly as he whispered back, "I know, but compared to other places, this is still relatively good. Leaving here now is also not realistic; it’s not safe anywhere outside."
In fact, Su Mo had been watching the Type III Black Thorn Insect, and indeed, just as Rose had ntioned, it was slowly moving this way.
Fortunately, there were quite a few chas heading in this direction, presumably to encircle and suppress it.
If they were lucky enough, they might be unscathed.
Seeing Su Mo speak this way, Rose didn’t say much else. She sighed and spoke, "I wonder how Lord Spade’s situation is? Under normal circumstances, we should have returned imdiately to protect Lord Spade."
"Don’t worry about that, Lord Spade’s situation is definitely better than ours. As soon as the situation stabilizes a bit, we’ll head back,"
Su Mo said.
"Yes, that’s all we can do for now."
Rose nodded.
In the central district of Green Gore City, on the high platform of the small palace’s rooftop.
Spade followed Beilo and the others up here. The entire building was protected by a transparent Energy Barrier, so it hadn’t suffered any damage or impacts.
Standing here, one could clearly overlook the whole besieged Green Gore City.
And they could also clearly see the culprits of this attack, the Type IV Lord Level Black Thorn Insect King and the Type IV Lord Level Black Thorn Insect Queen.
Those two Monsters were being besieged by swarms of chas in the sky above the city.
Beams and missiles filled the sky, exploding upon their AT Stance Barriers, but to no effect.
On the contrary, the Black Thorn Insect King and Queen were like wolves amidst sheep, shredding a cha with one claw, and with a sweep of their gaping mouths, a beam would instantly explode seven or eight surrounding chas.
It was basically no different from a suicide mission.
Yet even so, a large number of chas joined the battle, fearlessly charging forward.
"Lord Beilo, relying on these soldiers fighting bravely won’t be enough,"
Spade reminded Beilo calmly.
"Rest assured, Lord Spade, I’m aware of that. Soon, you will witness the mighty power of the Yanas Kingdom!"
Beilo said, her eyes full of confidence.
Right at that mont, the ground of the plazas in the four directions of Green Gore City suddenly split open.
Subsequently, four imnse chas rose from beneath the ground.
Spade looked on, also slightly surprised, as all four were fourth-generation chas, and they were all Biological chas.
The one to the east stood thirty-five ters tall, covered entirely in red armor, its elongated head protruding with green eyes and equipped with an integrated weapon system. Its right hand wielded a sharp tactile blade, and embedded in its back was a pair of Biological Wings; there was a high probability that an Insect Race creature was its base.
The one to the west, thirty ters tall, encased in layer upon layer of grey armor, bulky throughout with a gaping mouth full of daunting teeth, brandished a heavy Super Alloy axe, bearing so resemblance to the Ganks.
To the north, the forty-ter tall human-like cha had three black suppression pipes implanted into its back, its head adorned with five red eyes, wielding a Super Alloy Long Spear, and with four assisting jet devices embedded in its back.
The one to the south, thirty ters in height, its body was covered in segnts of reinforced armor, its hands like sharp talons. A pair of translucent Biological Wings were attached to its back, giving it an appearance of lightness and agility.
Spade felt slightly puzzled internally; it seed like the Yanas had a peculiar fondness for the Insect Race, eating them was one thing.
But even the majority of the fourth-generation Biological chas they used were primarily based on creatures from the Insect Race.
At that mont, Beilo proudly stated, "What you see now, Lord Spade, is the pinnacle of the Yanas Kingdom’s military power. Tearing apart the invaders will be effortless."
Spade smiled back, "Of course, I have never doubted your nation’s strength."
Of course, Spade didn’t truly believe that in his heart. Although these four Biological chas looked formidable, Spade’s discerning eyes could clearly tell that their aura was nowhere near as strong as the two Insects that had breached the city.
Nevertheless, since they had the advantage in numbers, and with the support of the surrounding troops, bringing down the enemies shouldn’t be too big of a problem.
But to crush them easily, in an overwhelming manner, seed rather doubtful.
"Then please enjoy the spectacle, Lord Spade,"
Beilo said composedly.
In the next second, the four Type IV Biological chas moved simultaneously. Pairing up in twos, they charged towards the Black Thorn Insect King and Queen in the sky.
