The next morning, Su Mo awoke early to an unusually noisy outside.
He got out of bed, washed up, changed into the second-generation chanical armor, and then walked out of his room to the living room.
The living room was desolately quiet.
Su Mo looked towards Qian Chengxue’s room, the door tightly closed.
He walked over and knocked on the door.
Knock, knock~
"Sister Xue, are you awake?"
Su Mo called out.
To his surprise, there was no response. He instinctively pushed the door open and discovered the bedroom was empty.
The bed was neatly made.
Su Mo was montarily puzzled—so early in the morning, where had Qian Chengxue gone?
He then took out his cellphone to call Qian Chengxue, only to find out it had powered off. His phone was quite old and he had forgotten to charge it last night in a bit of confusion.
Just then, a knock sounded at the front door.
"Knock, knock~"
Su Mo looked puzzled, wondering who would visit so early in the morning.
So, he went to the door and opened it.
To his surprise, upon seeing the visitor, Su Mo greeted him eagerly.
"Lord Li Ruiqi, what brings you here? You could have just sent soone to inform of any matter."
Li Ruiqi replied with a smile, "Your phone was unreachable, so I decided to co over myself. How about we go for a walk together?"
"Now?"
Su Mo beca even more astonished.
"Yes."
Li Ruiqi nodded.
"Alright."
Su Mo quickly agreed.
The two of them then left the house and strolled through the Upper City District, which was bustling unusually today.
Every household had their doors wide open, and scenes of relatives saying farewell were everywhere.
Residents of the Upper City District were mostly officers, and all officers, except for those directly under the control of ’Black Brilliance,’ were bound for battle; none could escape their duty.
While accompanying Li Ruiqi, Su Mo couldn’t stop wondering to himself why Li Ruiqi had co to find him. At such a crucial ti, Li Ruiqi should be in the command center coordinating, yet he had co all this way to find him.
Su Mo also felt inexplicably uneasy.
Li Ruiqi seed to notice Su Mo’s confusion and spoke with so emotion, "There’s sothing I thought it better to inform you of in person."
"What is it?"
Su Mo felt his heart tighten.
"The battlefield assignnts are out, and you have been assigned to the main battlefield as the spearhead blade," Li Ruiqi pondered before saying.
Upon hearing this, Su Mo’s lips twitched slightly. Although he had anticipated being assigned to the main battlefield, he hadn’t expected to be appointed as the spearhead, a role carrying great responsibility.
But if he had been assigned as the spearhead, then soone had to step up.
"Understood, I’m aware now."
Li Rui sighed faintly, expressing so regret, "I know this isn’t exactly fair to you. Normally, Wang Hai should occupy this spearhead position, but as you know, the compatibility between Wang Hai and the ’Dark Calamity cha’ isn’t sufficient yet. The role of the spearhead is critical and allows no errors, so I had no choice but to push you forward."
"I understand, it’s all for the Federation," Su Mo wasn’t really bothered, since the ’Fake Owner-Devourer’ had been urging him to take on the spearhead role anyway; this worked out perfectly.
Seeing the composed Su Mo, Li Ruiqi, sowhat concerned, advised, "This mission is extrely dangerous, especially for the spearhead position, which could possibly face the insect swarm’s collective assault, or worse, be targeted as an imbedded thorn. You must be extrely careful, and if you really can’t hold up, you must retreat and preserve your life above all else."
Su Mo was slightly moved by Li Ruiqi’s words, feeling that Li Ruiqi was genuinely worried for his safety.
"Thank you for the reminder, Lord Li Ruiqi, I’ll be careful. If I truly can’t hold up, I know what to do."
Li Ruiqi stretched out his hand and pressed it on Su Mo’s shoulder, "Yeah, as long as you understand that’s good. Of course, within your capability, you still need to fight bravely; the future hope of the Federation rests on us."
"Understood!"
Su Mo nodded heavily in response.
Li Ruiqi smiled and said, "It’s getting late, you should be off now. Have a smooth journey!"
"Yes!"
Su Mo saluted Li Ruiqi and turned to leave.
Li Ruiqi watched Su Mo’s retreating figure, the relaxed expression on his face slowly fading away as he sighed deeply.
Although Su Mo had gradually erged during the expedition, in reality, Li Rui and others had been paying attention to him in the Earth Cup long before.
In his heart, Su Mo was likely to be one of the main pillars of Zone Z in the future. If it weren’t really unavoidable, he would not want to place him in the vanguard.

anwhile, Su Mo walked towards the GT departnt; when he reached Area G.
The entire entrance was crowded with people.
Couples were bidding farewell to their partners with teary eyes.
Relatives were tearfully hugging their sons and daughters.
"Be careful, and don’t try to be a hero."
"You must co back alive."

Watching the farewell scenes before him, Su Mo couldn’t help but stop. He too felt quite emotional and sighed softly.
"Ah~"
Honestly, Su Mo was quite envious; at least those people had soone to see them off. He thought about how it seed he didn’t even have anyone to bid him farewell.
It seed he didn’t have anyone special to worry about either, and those who he did worry about were just like him, about to go to the battlefield.
Su Mo took a deep breath, adjusted his emotions, and was just about to head inside.
At that mont, a voice called out from behind him.
"Boss!"
Su Mo turned his head to look back and saw Sun Duoxiang running over caperingly.
"What brings you here?"
Su Mo asked with a smile. Though he asked this, he was quite pleased deep down.
"Of course, I’m here to see you off, boss. See how good I am?"
Sun Duoxiang boasted about himself.
"It’s the thought that counts."
Su Mo replied happily.
Then Sun Duoxiang, rubbing his hands, said, "Boss, if you find any good stuff, don’t forget to look out for your brother, huh?"
After hearing what Sun Duoxiang said, Su Mo’s face went blank as he replied, "You idiot, I’m supposed to lead the charge. Even if I find anything good, with your puny stature, you won’t be able to get near it. Are you trying to get yourself killed?"
"Er, let’s forget about it then. I was just joking. Take care, boss."
Sun Duoxiang said awkwardly.
Su Mo replied helplessly, "Alright, I know. Don’t think too much. If there’s sothing suitable for you, I’ll naturally let you know. Rember my words, don’t ddle unnecessarily. Safety first."
"Okay, okay, understood."
Sun Duoxiang nodded repeatedly, moved.
After giving his instructions, Su Mo turned and walked into the GT departnt.
"Boss, have a safe journey."
Sun Duoxiang called out from behind.
Su Mo didn’t turn around; he just raised his hand and waved.
Just as Su Mo walked not far inside.
