Chapter 869: Chapter 666: The Passage of Ti (Part 2)
Just as the car set off not long ago.
Mai Han frowned slightly, his expression turned a bit grim, and he spoke softly to the driver: “You took the wrong road, didn’t you?”
The driver, glancing up slightly, replied calmly.
“General Mihan, the road is correct. Soone important wants to see you.”
“Who is it?”
Mai Han squinted his eyes.
“There’s no need for you to ask more. You’ll naturally know when we arrive.”
The driver had no intention of explaining further.
On a usual day, Mai Han would have taken action without a second thought. But sothing seed to have crossed his mind, so he held his composure.
Half an hour later, this inconspicuous taxi drove into a very large estate and stopped in front of a standalone villa.
“General Mihan, we have arrived. You may get out of the car.”
The driver said lightly.
Mai Han opened the car door and walked towards the villa ahead.
Guarding the villa’s entrance were four strong n in black suits and sunglasses. For so reason, Mai Han instinctively felt these four were dangerous.
As soon as Mai Han stepped inside the villa, the door behind him closed automatically.
In the forefront of the living room stood a chair, upon which sat a figure draped in a black cloak, obscuring his appearance.
On either side stood heavily ard strong n.
“Major General Mihan, welco ho.”
The cloaked figure emitted a chilling voice.
“Who on earth are you?”
Mai Han squinted his eyes and asked warily.
“You don’t need to know who I am. You just need to know that from today, you no longer serve Lulavi, but instead. Lulavi has already handed you over to .”
The person in front remarked nonchalantly.
“Why should I believe it? And even if what you said is true, why should I serve you? How do I know if you’re qualified?”
Mai Han replied cautiously.
The person before him gave a sly smile and said: “Let tell you, I am a survivor of the first Heavenly Cup. Do you think I’m qualified? Now you only have two options: submit or die.”
Mai Han suddenly felt himself targeted by the strong n nearby. He could sense that if he refused,
in the next second, they would rush over and tear him apart.
Mai Han’s expression twisted for a mont, then he gave a wry smile and said: “I am willing to submit and serve you, my Lord.”
“Good, you’re a smart man. It wasn’t in vain for to co all the way from Star Ring City to save you.”
The figure responded, seemingly pleased.
“However, I have a request: you must help hide my identity. The special hidden Genetic Potion Lulavi injected into is running low, and I’m in constant danger of exposure.”
Mai Han took this chance to make a request.
Upon hearing Mai Han’s words, the figure laughed piercingly.
“Haha, there’s no need to be so nervous. The potion Lulavi gave you is a special hidden Genetic Potion we all use, effectively concealing the Negative Energy Virus. Unless you foolishly go to Star Ring City to make trouble, the Federation’s technology can’t detect it.”
After hearing this, Mai Han frowned tightly and said: “No, didn’t the Federation develop new detection equipnt, and didn’t your people do sothing to it?”
“The only instrunts capable of detection are in Star Ring City, and such equipnt is not for sale. Star Ring City would never let others use it. As for the Federation’s new instrunts you ntioned, they fundantally can’t detect anything. My people haven’t tampered with anything from start to finish; it’s just your guilty conscience almost gave you away.”
The figure before him replied with a hint of mockery, teaching Mai Han a valuable lesson.
Mai Han’s face twitched fiercely after hearing this, and he replied softly.
“Lulavi didn’t tell the situation, so how would I know if it might be discovered.”
“Tsk tsk, well, let’s not dwell on that. As long as you serve well in the coming days, you won’t lack benefits. But if you pretend to cooperate while secretly opposing, you should know the consequences.”
The figure coldly warned with a sneer.
Although Mai Han felt extrely indignant inside, he dared not show it. This guy could place spies within the Federation’s deviant departnt, truly demonstrating remarkable ability.
Judging from his tone, his status is probably even higher than Lulavi’s.
“Understood. May I know how to address you, my Lord?”
“You don’t need to know who I am. When I need you, you will naturally receive orders.”
“Yes.”
….
In the suburbs of the Imperial City.
Inside a new industrial park.
Two groups of people were in a standoff.
Sun Li, furious, pointed at the troublemakers before her and said: “There are over a hundred factories here, and everyone operates like this. All our emissions are compliant, so why are we the only ones fined?”
The lead man in enforcent attire scoffed and said: “Just because you say it’s compliant doesn’t make it so. Clearly, you’ve exceeded the limits. Also, we’re enforcing the law. If you’re unsatisfied, you can appeal, but until the result is out, you are not allowed to operate.”
Tang Yao, usually good-natured, couldn’t hold back any longer and said: “Chen Jia, I think it’s because you failed to flirt with us sisters last ti and are now deliberately causing trouble for us.”
“You can’t simply talk recklessly. Be careful, or I’ll sue you for slander.”
Chen Jia replied unceremoniously.
“You!”
Tang Yao and her sisters were livid with anger.
“Enough with the nonsense, seal the place up. Anyone who dares obstruct will be dealt with as resisting the law.”
Chen Jia ordered bluntly.
