Chapter 889: Chapter 681: Familiar Face

As Su Mo was confronting the crowd, a steady voice rang out.

“What are you doing?”

They saw a man wearing glasses and dressed in an advanced Federation uniform, leading a group of executives walking over.

“Deputy, this guy sneaked into the archive room and I caught him red-handed.”

The young man who caught Su Mo excitedly reported. This was quite a big accomplishnt.

Su Mo’s face twitched slightly, as if the situation was escalating. Even their supervisor was alard, and he was about to brace himself to explain.

But then he saw the leader’s visage and was instantly surprised.

“Obic!”

At this mont, Obic also clearly saw Su Mo and was very astonished.

“Lord Su Mo.”

“Sir, do you know him?”

His subordinate beside him was also full of surprise.

“Shoo, shoo, he’s not so spy, everyone disperse and get on with your work.”

Obic waved his hand, signaling the others to leave.

Upon hearing Obic’s words, everyone present exchanged bewildered looks and eventually dispersed reluctantly.

“I didn’t expect to see you here by chance, what are you doing here? I rember you were the supervisor of the GT departnt’s logistics.”

Su Mo curiously asked.

“Ahem, Lord Su Mo, I got promoted after returning, and now I’m serving as the deputy minister of the Federation Logistics Departnt.”

Obic replied modestly. Although Su Mo was not very well-known or flashy in the Federation now, Obic was very aware of Su Mo’s capabilities.

“Not bad, you’re getting promoted quickly.”

“Lord Su Mo, you’re too kind. Compared to promotion speed, who could match yours?”

“Enough about that, are you in charge of this bidding?”

Su Mo curiously inquired.

“Yes.”

Obic did not conceal anything from Su Mo.

“That’s just perfect, take a look at this bid docunt. The bids from this Qihe Group, what’s going on with that? They clearly lack competitiveness, so why did they win the bid? On the other hand, Chenxi Group’s goods, whether in quality, style, or price, have major advantages, but they keep failing.

Su Mo was also a bit exasperated as he spoke.

Obic smiled and said to Su Mo, “Lord Su Mo, why are you concerned with matters like this? These trivial matters are not sothing you should be worried about, but since you asked, I’ll tell you the reason. Actually, many of these projects are predetermined. Except for so extrely important ones, like ammunition, which require strict comparison, the rest just need to be qualified.”

Hearing this, Su Mo beca visibly displeased and directly voiced his opinion.

“How can you do this with a clear conscience? Is this worthy of the soldiers fighting valiantly on the front line? I still trusted you, too much really. If I were to turn around and report to Council President Long Ming, saying you’re engaging in backroom dealings, haha.”

Obic was quite embarrassed, and he said to Su Mo, “Lord Su Mo, you’re not part of this scene. There are many intricacies in this that you might not understand. Please don’t get upset, we can always work things out internally.”

“Alright, I won’t make things difficult for you. Regarding the protective clothing project today, let Chenxi Group win the bid. I’ve checked their goods, and they’re absolutely fine.”

Su Mo spoke directly without beating around the bush.

Hearing this, Obic was also sowhat troubled, as this particular contract had already been predetermined.

The head minister of the logistics departnt had directly indicated that Qihe Group was to be favored.

Seeing that Obic was silent for a while, Su Mo pressed, “Just give a straightforward answer, yes or no.”

“Yes, Lord Su Mo, since you’ve spoken, how could I not respect you? Let’s not even ntion it; during the expedition, had it not been for you repeatedly turning the tide, I wouldn’t know where I’d be dead in the starry sky by now.”

Obic replied with determination.

Su Mo wasn’t unreasonable, and he knew he might have been a bit excessive, so he coughed and said to Obic, “Thank you, I’ll owe you a favor for this. Call if you need anything in the future.”

With that, Su Mo picked up a pen from the nearby table and wrote a string of numbers on the bidding docunt.

“Alright, here’s my business card. If you wish to bid for sothing next ti, just tell in advance. I’ll do everything I can to assist you.”

Obic quickly took out and handed his business card to Su Mo.

“Okay, thanks, I’ll head out now.”

Su Mo accepted the card and bid farewell.

“Sure, I’ll see you out.”

Obic was very courteous, personally escorting Su Mo to the elevator.

After Su Mo left, several of Obic’s trusted subordinates eagerly approached him, curiously asking, “Lord Obic, who was that?”

They rarely saw Lord Obic being so reverent towards soone.

Usually, others were the ones seeking Lord Obic’s favor.

“Don’t ask what you shouldn’t ask. Go replace the predetermined winning group for the YSD-03 military dical defensive material bid with Chenxi Group.”

Obic said calmly.

“Lord Obic, you must be joking. Wasn’t that contract already predetermined for Qihe Group? It was the head minister’s direct instruction; changing it at this stage will cause problems.”

The subordinates were utterly shocked, growing increasingly nervous. Who exactly was that guy to make Lord Obic defy the head minister’s orders?

“Just do as you are told. I’m in charge of this area, so you go and do it.”

Obic maintained his composure.

“Lord Obic, we’re just worried about being reprimanded from above.”

“That’s not sothing for you to worry about. Whatever happens, I’ll handle it. And another thing, I don’t want any accidents, so before this is publicized, I don’t want anyone else to know about it. If anyone leaks it, you’ll all be out of a job.”

Obic directly warned.

“Understood.”

The subordinates answered with so trepidation.

…..

anwhile, on the other side, Su Mo returned to the first floor and walked towards the lounge area.

He saw Qian Chengxue and several others sitting there, seriously contemplating and revising the bid docunt.

At this ti, Su Mo noticed Wu Xiaoli approaching with her entourage, coming over with ill intentions and trying to show off.

“Yo, what are you guys doing? Revising the bid docunt at the last minute? How about letting sis here give you so advice?”

Wu Xiaoli teased on purpose.

“Please keep your distance; this is a comrcial secret.”

Qian Chengxue calmly replied.

“Only valuable things are secrets; what you’re doing is worthless anyway, bidding in vain.”

Wu Xiaoli retorted unkindly.

“You!”

Sun Li seethed with anger.

At this mont, Su Mo stepped forward and said with a smile, “Aunt Wu, you’re quite free, aren’t you?”

Wu Xiaoli’s expression changed slightly as she said, “Young man, I found you quite pleasing at first, but I didn’t expect you to be so tactless.”

“Thanks for the flattering, Aunt!”

Su Mo politely replied.

“You!”

Wu Xiaoli snorted coldly and turned away.

Sun Li gritted her teeth and said, “So annoying, just like a fly.”

“It’s okay, don’t let it affect us. Let’s quickly revise it once more.”

Qian Chengxue calmly reassured.
