"Hereby issuing a partial orange warning for the Star Domain!"
...
Looking at the news, Su Mo said sowhat surprised.
"The private conflicts are more severe than I imagined. Seems like we’ll have to be extra cautious before setting sail."
"You’re just realizing this? We’ve known for ages. Now all the experts online are advising against setting sail, saying going out is asking for death; the friction is intense now."
Sun Li appeared unsurprised.
"Talking about this makes so angry. I don’t get why the Federation isn’t sanctioning the other side. This matter is so clear, and the people are all pleading for action, yet it’s all in vain. I really can’t understand why the Council President is being so restrained."
Tang Yao was utterly perplexed.
"How to sanction? We barely have any dealings or trades with them in the first place, unless we go to war directly. But how would we fight? Go down together?"
Su Mo said helplessly.
"Large-scale conflict is unlikely. The Alliance countries are busy gathering new resources for the front lines. How can they gather if a fight breaks out now?"
Qian Chengxue shook her head.
"How is the Federation’s resource gathering going?"
Su Mo asked curiously upon hearing this.
"Though the Federation is facing difficulties, gathering so resources isn’t a problem. I heard no one dares to transport them to the front lines; that’s the real trouble."
Qian Chengxue explained the situation briefly to Su Mo.
"If it were , I wouldn’t dare either."
Su Mo stretched and replied nonchalantly. At such a sensitive ti, who would dare to stick their neck out?
Zhao Han picked up a case of beer, opened each bottle, and placed them in front of her sisters.
"Why talk about those things? Let’s have a hearty drink today, and tomorrow we’ll work hard together!"
"Sure thing!"
The sisters responded one after another.
Soon, steaming grilled at and stir-fried dishes were served, and Su Mo took a slight glance.
Almost all the dishes were at; there were hardly any vegetables. Sun Li and the rest were clearly ordering the cheaper options.
"You’re saving money for , huh?"
Su Mo teased.
"No way, we just felt like eating at today."
"Yeah, Su Mo, you wouldn’t mind us eating a little at, would you?"
...
The sisters laughed and asked.
Just then, a sleek, understated luxury hovercar slowly drove by in the distance.
Normal people would subconsciously ignore such a hovercar,
but Sun Li and the others had sharp eyes, and they marveled as they discussed.
"Look at that car, that’s a dostically made official vehicle! Don’t be fooled by its simplicity and understatent; each one costs over ten thousand Star Coins. Which big shot drove this here, for street food?"
"What’s so surprising about that? So rich folks enjoy the simple life too."
Su Mo glanced with the corner of his eye, finding nothing special about the car.
"Sothing’s not right; the license plate is federal governnt-issued."
Qian Chengxue said unexpectedly.
Upon hearing that, Su Mo got interested too and turned to look.
At this mont, the door of the hovercar opened.
An energetic old man, dressed in a low-key black robe and wearing a black round-topped cap, stepped out of the car.
Seeing the old man stepping out, Su Mo and Qian Chengxue stood up abruptly, faces filled with shock.
Sun Li and the others, on the other hand, were utterly baffled.
"Sister Xue, Su Mo, what’s going on with you two?"
The old man, with a kindly smile, walked straight up to them.
"Council President Long Ming."
Suppressing their astonishnt, Su Mo and Qian Chengxue greeted respectfully.
Upon hearing this, Sun Li and others were shocked and hurriedly stood up as well, realizing who it was.
Council President Long Ming raised his hand, signaling everyone to sit while saying warmly.
"No need to be formal, everyone sit down."
Sun Li and the others glanced at Qian Chengxue and Su Mo, too nervous to sit.
Council President Long Ming saw nobody dared to sit, just smiled without further comnt, and said to Qian Chengxue, "I’ve co to see Su Mo, I wonder if I could borrow him for a while."
"Of course."
Qian Chengxue quickly replied.
"Thank you, Su Mo, accompany this old man for a little walk."
Long Ming seed like an elderly neighbor, very amiable and without any airs.
"Sure!"
Su Mo imdiately followed Long Ming away.
After Long Ming and Su Mo walked off, Sun Li and the others scread in astonishnt.
"Oh my god, I can’t believe I saw the Council President!"
"Yeah! In the flesh!"
"Su Mo is amazing, having the Council President co to find him."
"Exactly!"
...
At that mont, only Qian Chengxue remained, frowning and silent.
Soon after, Su Mo and Long Ming walked along the lakeside towards a more secluded area, gradually moving away from the noise.
Starlight sprinkled over them, a truly gentle breeze blowing by.
Su Mo quietly stayed by Long Ming’s side, without speaking.
Long Ming gently broke the silence, saying to Su Mo, "Has everything been going poorly lately?"
"Uh, not too bad, Council President Long Ming, did you hear sothing?"
Su Mo replied sowhat awkwardly.
"With this matter making such a stir, how could I not hear? Such a huge sum of money being transferred away, of course I’d know. I considered seeing if I could help you, but unfortunately, the money went into Star Ring City’s bank, and I have no way to do anything about it. You know the nature of Star Ring City’s banks, yet we have no choice but to be connected to them."
Long Ming spoke of the matter with a seemingly amused smile.
