"Don't you already have so many of them? Wang Xiao, seriously, what are you thinking?"

Seraphina couldn't understand this man at all.

Wang Xiao shrugged, the picture of nonchalance, as if she were accusing him of stealing cookies. "I think you should be grateful I liked you enough to give you a daughter. But since you don't want her—never mind."

His hand casually moved toward her stomach, his tone almost bored.

Just like that, he was ready to terminate her pregnancy—like it was no more than canceling a dinner reservation.

"Wait—" Seraphina's hands shot out, grabbing his wrist with surprising strength. "What did you just say?"

"What?" Wang Xiao blinked at her, his face the epito of innocence, but the sly curve of his lips told a different story.

"…"

Seraphina bit her lip, her mind spinning. Did this guy just admit to liking her… and then imdiately backpedal? Was this real life?

She snorted inwardly. 'Hah. I'm the age of his mother, and this bastard's idea of liking soone is knocking them up. What kind of twisted logic is that?'

Still, she couldn't deny the truth. Knowing him, he wouldn't leave her alone, no matter how much she protested.

Her musings were interrupted when Wang Xiao's brow arched. "What are you doing?"

She stretched her body to grab her phone, ignoring his curious gaze.

"Calling Josephine to co back early," she replied, her tone deceptively casual. Her lips curved into a smirk as she added, "You wanted to sleep with both of us, right?"

She looked at him as if she were stating the obvious, doing her best to mask her nervousness and the subtle blush creeping up her neck.

"Hm?"

Wang Xiao tilted his head, his curiosity piqued as he watched her type on her phone.

Seraphina exhaled slowly after sending the text, only to find him staring at her like she'd grown a second head. "Look," she said, breaking the silence, "I don't care if Josephine hates after this. She probably already does. But you…" Her gaze hardened. "You're going to manage the fallout yourself."

In simple terms, Seraphina was well aware of the inevitable fallout. Whether it happened because she let Josephine share the bed with them—which she fully intended to trick her daughter into—or because of the eventual bombshell about her pregnancy, the damage was bound to happen.

But as long as he didn't fall out with Josephine, it didn't matter.

To be honest, she didn't believe for a second that Wang Xiao would ever let her daughter go. Despite his aloof deanor, this man was painfully territorial. Once he'd claid sothing—or soone—it was his for life.

Seraphina sighed. That's just who he is. He won't leave occupied territory. Not now, not ever.

She thought about her daughter. Josephine was probably waiting for so imaginary love, so knight in shining armor who didn't exist. But knowing Josephine's hopeless romantic streak, she must've given her first ti to this bastard—just like Seraphina had. Though, in her case, the circumstances were… different.

With all these thoughts swirling in her head, Seraphina made her decision. It was better to let Josephine fall out with her now than to let the inevitable hurt for later.

Because when it ca down to it, Seraphina would always lose.

At least now, there was sothing to lose for.

Her eyes flicked to Wang Xiao's face, studying him for a mont. And that's when it hit her—this bastard enjoyed this.

Of course, he did.

The smug curve of his lips, the glint of amusent in his eyes—he thrived on it, didn't he? This wasn't just his personality; it was his damn hobby. Purposefully terrorizing his won for fun, making them squirm, fluster, and lose their minds while he sat there acting like the king of the world.

Her lips twitched in annoyance. 'A bastard through and through.'

Seraphina groaned, rubbing her temples as if to ward off the oncoming headache. Why did she ever think there was reasoning with this man?

And worse?

Sowhere, deep down, she knew she couldn't move on from him.

He had carved himself into her mind, etched so deeply that every thought eventually led back to him. Whether it was his smug smirk, his commanding presence, or the maddening way he seed to know exactly how to push her buttons, Wang Xiao had imprinted himself far too much on her.

Her only issue?

This bastard never confird their relationship. He treated her like a subordinate, soone he could tease and toy with at will. But today, she finally realized the truth.

He was ssing with her—purposefully, gleefully—because he liked that panicked look on her face.

Her lips twitched in a mix of frustration and reluctant understanding. 'This filthy, smug prick actually enjoys seeing squirm.'

And the worst part?

She didn't dislike him. Not even a little. Despite knowing 'exactly' what kind of bastard he was, she still couldn't bring herself to hate him.

"You want more? Or have you had enough? I need to go down and prepare dinner," she said, her voice low, her half-shut eyes betraying her exhaustion. It was like squeezing water from a stone just to get the words out.

Ugh. She grimaced inwardly. She thought she'd grown as shaless as him by now, but why was it still so damn embarrassing to speak like this?

Swoosh!

Her hands yanked the white bra up, exposing the plush rabbits on her chest. The light pink nipples stood stiff, trembling like they were begging for his mouth to claim them. Read chapters at My Virtual Library Empire

Her flushed cheeks and the heaving rise of her chest betrayed the storm in her mind. If he wanted more, he better take it now.

She shot him a glare, lips curling into a frown. "Once I start dinner, don't even think about disturbing !"

Her voice wavered slightly, and she hated how weak it sounded. But still, her ssage was clear: playti was over—for now.

Hearing no response, Seraphina assud he was done. Finally, she thought, he won't milk for more today.

But the bastard's next whisper nearly made her want to fling herself off the top floor.

He wanted to do what?

In the kitchen?

— In the kitchen!!?

Her jaw clenched, and her face burned crimson. She turned to glare at him, her fingers twitching with an uncontrollable urge. Oh, just wait until she had a spatula in her hand—then he could repeat that nonsense!

But despite the ss in her mind, her body betrayed her yet again. Grumbling under her breath, she grabbed his hand and dragged him downstairs, her steps quick and sneaky. "Don't take too much ti!" she hissed as they entered the kitchen.

She slamd the door shut, locking it for good asure. Then she rushed to check the windows, drawing the curtains tightly. Her gaze darted around the room as she muttered, "The servants are still here… and my son's in the palace."

anwhile, Wang Xiao leaned against the counter, watching her with an amused smile. He didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

If a man ever wanted to know what the peak of life was, it wasn't riches, power, or fa—it was seeing a grown woman fall hopelessly in love with you.

This woman didn't even realize how far gone she was. The mighty Queen of Sylvergard, Seraphina, sneaking around and bending to his whims. She'd fallen so deep into the abyss that there was no climbing out.

And the funniest part? She was no better than her daughter, Josephine.

Both of them—mother and daughter—were hopelessly... stubborn.

Hopelessly frustrating.

And most of all?

Hopelessly in love with him.
