Now reading: Chapter 680: Aurora's Little Thoughts? from Deviant: No Longer Human, a Action novel by SKuLL.

"Aurora, why are you here...?"

Wang Xiao sent Selene away, then turned to Aurora with a smile that barely hid his irritation.

She could tell. He wasn't pleased.

After a few… accidents, Wang Xiao had figured it out. Leaving shadows to guard his people was pointless if the enemy knew about them. If they were aware, they'd just slink past like sneaky little rats.

So, he made changes.

Now? Eyes were always watching. Unseen. Unnoticed.

Almost no one knew about them.

Except Anran. And now, Aurora.

That bothered him.

Aurora had gone to Anran. Anran, that loyal lunatic, showed her the way.

Another person knew his secret.

Wang Xiao wasn't worried about Anran. That woman would rather jump headfirst into a vat of boiling oil than betray him. Before? Maybe he would've had doubts.

But after he brought her back from the dead—

She was a different breed of crazy.

Younger Wang Xiao had been a bit too open, a little too open. Hell, he even rembered a stupid conversation he had with Anran once—one he barely cared about at the ti.

She had asked him the sa dumb question all won eventually ask:

"If you had to choose between saving or yourself, what would you do?"

She earned a solid beating for that nonsense. Sacrifice himself for her? What a joke.

But, back then, he had let sothing extra slip.

"If I want sothing, I'll live and take it back myself. As long as I breathe, whatever I lose—I'll reclaim. Even if it's from the pits of hell. If the universe has to be turned upside down and ripped apart, then so be it."

That was just how he saw things.

He didn't expect Anran to take it so seriously.

Then she died.

And he dragged her back.

Now? She believed in him more than she believed in heaven itself.

"Isn't it just dying?" she had laughed once. Crazy woman.

Back then, he had needed Alia's help. He didn't know shit about souls, ti limits on revival, or how the hell the process worked.

But now?

Now, he knew everything.

So, if the sa dumb question was asked again—

If he had to choose between himself and anyone else?

The answer would always be himself.

That was his trust in his own strength.

If he wasn't strong enough?

Then he'd fucking get stronger.

And now? The security asures he put in place to keep his enemies from getting too cocky—were exposed.

Aurora knew.

Was he pissed?

"Wang... Why are you looking at like you're about to beat ?" Aurora's brow twitched. This man's eyes were not looking good. She instinctively took a step back.

Wang Xiao blinked slowly, like a predator sizing up its prey. "Co closer. Tell what happened. I won't beat you."

He said it with the sa gentle tone a mother uses right before smacking the soul out of her kid.

Aurora pursed her lips before walking up to him. And then—as if it were the most natural thing in the world—she settled herself right onto his lap.

She leaned in, speaking softly. "I went to see Celestine."

Wang Xiao's fingers drumd idly against her waist.

"And?"

Aurora hesitated. Last ti, she had gone alone, saying she would bring Celestine back to see him.

Now, she had returned alone.

Wang Xiao didn't need to guess.

"She hates … That's it?"

Aurora's eyes widened. "You already knew?"

Wang Xiao chuckled. "Well, I beat Athene so many tis, she should basically consider that woman her mother. Seeing her co ho bruised and humiliated—obviously, it'd cause so resentnt."

"..."

Aurora's expression dimd. Her eyes went blank, her brain buffering.

All that stress. All that overthinking. And here this man was, completely unfazed.

She thought he'd bla her.

Turns out, he couldn't care less.

She sighed, pressing her cheek against his shoulder. "Have you planned anything?"

But Wang Xiao just smiled and said nothing.

Aurora groaned internally. This bastard didn't just get stronger—he got more cunning.

How irritating.

People thought Wang Xiao had no weaknesses.

The truth?

He simply never touched anything he couldn't control.

Be it won, power, or enemies.

If you looked at his pattern, you'd see it.

None of the won he had ever touched were stronger than him.

There was one exception—Aurora.

But from the very beginning, she never challenged him. She listened. She was honest.

Because she knew—the mont he considered her a threat, he would never touch her again.

The sa had happened with Xue Hanqin.

Once Wang Xiao realized he couldn't control her, he didn't waste energy chasing after her. Instead, he chose to wait.

Athene? Sa deal. He was stronger than her in every way, but he didn't have absolute control.

Yuriko? Sa.

So, he never tried anything with them.

Won were just a reflection of his ntality.

The sa principle applied to everything in his life.

Long ago, when he was with Seraphine, he had refused to confront Asmodemus before he was ready. He would have rather waited than rush into a losing battle.

But Asmodemus found him first.

That inevitable fight should have ended with Wang Xiao forced to flee—

If Aurora's dragon hadn't descended from the sky and chewed Asmodemus alive.

Aurora, back then, would have never directly asked about his plans. She had always been careful. She never pushed.

But now?

Now, he had outgrown her.

Now, she could say whatever the hell she wanted.

Even though she was the sa woman sitting in his arms, Wang Xiao could feel the difference.

She was more carefree.

The way she pouted her lips, as if annoyed—

It was actually kind of funny.

So he said it.

"Aren't you a little too old to act spoiled like a young girl?"

And then he grabbed her face and stretched it.

Puchi!

Aurora's face turned red. "You're older than now! You have no right to call an old!" She huffed, pressing her hand against his, making him touch her more.

Wang Xiao snorted. "And how does getting old make you any younger? You're still an old witch."

Her eye twitched.

She really didn't like that.

Aurora sighed, shifting in his lap. "Since you won't tell your plan, I'll tell you mine."

Wang Xiao raised a brow.

She smirked. "I already t with Yuriko, Naomi, and Elyria. They're willing to follow you. Once we force Athene into a corner, she'll have no choice but to reveal her real body. And then—"

She leaned in, whispering—

"You go and do what you're best at."

Wang Xiao's face darkened.

Wait.

Was this woman… telling him to rape Athene?

He pinched the bridge of his nose, sighed, then looked at her with a mix of resignation and admiration.

"Aurora…" He exhaled, then continued, "How the hell did you get Yuriko to agree? And who, exactly, is Elyria?"

Then it hit him.

This woman wasn't just lounging around looking pretty.

She had been running around, making moves.

That was—

Very good.

So good, in fact, that his hand slipped right under her clothes, fingers wrapping around those soft, perky peaks—kneading, teasing, indulging.

The feeling was divine.

If Selene wasn't waiting for him, he'd strip this old witch right here and now and remind her why she fell in the abyss to begin with.

Aurora purred, lting in his touch.

"Hmm… Elyria is the woman you saved in Maliketh's den. Rember? The one Athene took away?" Her voice was husky, sinful, her body pressing against him just right.

Wang Xiao squeezed harder, earning a pleased little gasp. "Oh... I rember."

That divine warrior woman—built like she belonged in heaven, missing only a pair of angel wings.

"You said they agreed. What do you an by that? I don't even know this one."

Aurora's smile told him everything.

This damn woman tricked them for sure.

"Elyria already has a good opinion of you since you saved her," Aurora purred. "She just wants to see your strength. Wants to et you..."

Wang Xiao snorted. "So she hasn't agreed."

Aurora looked offended. "What do you an 'hasn't agreed'? She wants to see your strength, right? Just press her down. If she can't resist, she's weaker!"

Wang Xiao's hand ca down hard on her ass.

Smack!

Aurora's body jerked, her thighs clenching around him.

Her face flushed, but she didn't take it back.

Because she wasn't wrong.

Among these immortals, 'willingness' was a flexible concept.
