12th January, evening.

Cold mist slithered through the narrow street, brushing past streetlamps and empty shopfronts. Wang Xiao walked casually, hands in pockets, as if he had simply finished buying groceries.

He really had left Zhenxi and the rest of the won to sort it all out on their own.

A soft voice followed him.

"Where are we going now?"

He didn’t answer.

Barefoot steps slapped gently against the pavent behind him, sticky, unsteady, almost wet-sounding.

People passing by stared.

First at him.

Then at the girl trailing him barefoot.

Small, thin, and pale. Midnight hair sticking out like she crawled out of a grave. Her dress was a torn ss of red silk and shadow, as if woven from night itself.

And then... she grabbed both her breasts with both hands.

"Why do these things bounce so much when I walk?" she complained, lifting them again. They were far too big for her petite fra, bouncing like two soft lons trapped under torn fabric. "Do all bodies do this? It’s annoying. They jiggle every ti I breathe."

A woman gasped.

A man choked.

A child’s mother dragged him away.

Wang Xiao’s eyelid twitched. "Put your tits down."

"But they feel weird," she said honestly, squeezing them once more as if testing ripeness. "When I was just a soul, nothing moved. Now everything jiggles. I don’t like it."

"Then stop fondling yourself in public."

She reluctantly lowered her hands, only halfway.

Her deep red eyes glimred under the streetlight, bright like a predator’s gaze. She walked with the awkward stiffness of soone using soone else’s limbs.

"Wang Xiao," she murmured, voice soft but filled with sothing vicious, "how is Eveline?"

He kept walking. "Good enough."

"Is she suffering?"

That earned her a glance.

"Probably. She wanted to inherit everything after her. You should’ve seen her face when I gave her a real inheritor instead."

A slow smile curled across the girl’s lips, too sharp, too pleased to belong to a face that young.

"Good," she whispered. "I like her suffering."

Wang Xiao stopped.

"...What?"

She blinked up at him innocently, but those glowing red pupils were filled with hunger... and close to amusent.

’Since when did this one have a grudge with Eveline?’

What the hell did he create this ti?

Under the flickering lamp, she looked nothing like the pure, untouched Yin Yue he had sculpted.

That one had been serene.

Bright.

Gentle.

This one looked like she had crawled out of the deepest ravine in the night, wearing a girl’s skin because it amused her.

Veins like shadowed vines crawled under her pale skin. Crimson thorn-like markings faintly across her dress, as if alive.

Yet she looked up at him with mock innocence.

"Why are you staring at like that?"

Wang Xiao folded his arms. "Since when did you start having opinions about Eveline?"

She shrugged casually. "I’ve always wanted to see her suffer..."

She said it like she was comnting on weather.

Then, she went right back to adjusting her boobs again.

"Ugh... they’re heavy. And they bounce. Every step. Look—"

"Stop." He glared. "Public. Place."

"But it feels weird," she muttered, still poking at them. "If you gave a body, why did you give it these? It’s like carrying two warm bags of milk."

Wang Xiao exhaled, pinching his nose. "Seriously... what happened to you, Yin Yue?"

"It’s Yin," she corrected softly.

He stared. "...What?"

She pointed lazily. "I gave the ’Yue’ part to the other one. She liked it. So call Yin."

He narrowed his eyes. "What other one?"

Yin blinked. "The white-haired girl. The body you sculpted belongs to her. She’s still inside. She’s just... quiet. Curious about you. Unsure."

"...Are you two separate?"

Yin nodded slowly, fingertips brushing the side of her temple as if feeling two minds breathing inside one skull.

"I think so. The vessel has space for both of us. Two souls with the sa structure rging... but also not rging. We’re the sa being. And also not."

She frowned slightly, then clarified with a strange, eerie calm:

"It feels like... when you modelled a soul after , my original one began getting pulled into it. Assimilating, yes... but never truly rging with the structure you created. It’s like you made a reflection of , sothing on the other side of a mirror, and that reflection beca a guide that dragged back."

Her voice thinned at the end, as though she herself did not believe the explanation, but had no better words.

Wang Xiao rubbed his jaw, eyes narrowing.

"So eventually it’ll just be you?"

"No." She smiled, softly, slowly, with an odd curl of uncertainty. "I’m not sure about that at all."

He grunted.

"Mmm."

A second passed.

She leaned forward a little, her crimson eyes lifting to his face with a faint tremble beneath the dark lashes.

"Do you not want to confirm if it’s really ?"

The truth was transparent, she wanted the confirmation far more than he did.

Wang Xiao smiled faintly.

"Only you," he said, "would hate Eveline for no reason. Co on, I’ll show you Aurora’s daughter."

He patted her back lightly, as if he was about to reveal sothing amusing.

Yin Yue lifted a brow at the casual tone.

The person he rembered never liked children, at all.

Instead, she asked, almost proudly:

"Do you want to know about my power? I feel like... if I breathe out, I could blanket this entire planet. Everything feels unnaturally strong."

Wang Xiao chuckled. "So you can use it. The other one—’Yue’—can’t use any of it. You’re the incarnation of Dark Matter right now. That’s where it’s leaking from."

He paused, rubbing his temple. "...It’s confusing, honestly. My daughter is nad Yue too."

Yin Yue nodded thoughtfully. "You can tell her to change it. Should I let her take over for a while?"

"No need." Wang Xiao shook his head.

He carved her from a transcended soul and anchored it with his own, it wasn’t surprising she could asure a planet with a breath.

If anything, soone like her should be able to peer into every corner of this universe without blinking.

But... her control clearly wasn’t there yet.

They walked for a while.

Yin Yue finally broke the silence. "How are you these days?"

Wang Xiao raised a brow. "No need for human chit-chat. I’m not one of those."

She humd softly. "You’ve beco very powerful."

There was genuine surprise in her tone, followed by a faint smile, sothing fragile and nostalgic.

To her, it felt like re days ago he struggled against beasts larger than cities. And now he walked with the calm of a man who could crush constellations in his fist.

The awe made her aware of her own heartbeat. She touched her chest lightly, startled again by the complexity of a living body, the pulse, the warmth.

Then, as she pieced everything together...

...the body she was in,

...the way he built her,

...the sensations overwhelming her,

She stopped abruptly.

And with her usual terrifying bluntness, asked:

"Do you want to fuck ?"

Wang Xiao froze.

"..."

"..."

Completely still, for one full second.

She blinked at him, repeating, "Do you want to fuck ?"

Sa tone.

Sa seriousness.

Sa Yin Yue.

"..."

Wang Xiao tilted his head, examining her face.

Baby-faced demoness, mature, overwhelming figure.

Definitely attractive.

But—

"No."

He sighed. "I didn’t create you for that. Your species aren’t even supposed to have gender."

Yin Yue pointed at her breasts.

Then between her legs.

"Then why do I have all this? If you didn’t want to fuck , why give this body?"

Wang Xiao blinked. "...Did I?"

"You did." She nodded as if declaring a universal truth. "So I presu you want to fuck . Do you prefer the back hole or the front? I feel like I possess both."

Her expression was so grave, so matter-of-fact, Wang Xiao actually felt outmatched in indifference.

He smacked her back lightly.

"Just walk. Stop saying useless things. Or I’ll actually fuck you."

"So you do want to fuck ," Yin Yue murmured, perfectly serious.

Wang Xiao shook his head.

If she kept repeating it, he might genuinely start considering it.

Then his expression shifted, solemn.

"Do you rember," he asked quietly, "what happened to you? In the trance? In the fountain? After... your death?"

Yin Yue blinked, digging through fragnted mory.

She rembered the trance.

She rembered the fountain.

Back then neither of them had ti to speak, they were both dying.

But after her death?

There was nothing.

What was a person before birth?

Nothing!

After her soul broke apart, her consciousness simply vanished into that sa nothingness.

Wang Xiao couldn’t find her.

Xue Hanqin couldn’t find her.

Her soul didn’t reincarnate, didn’t disperse, didn’t leave traces.

He had to carve her anew, from a fresh soul.

And yet, right now...

...it felt like her true soul was remote-connected to the carved one.

Two existences staring at each other through one vessel.

Entangled, and intersecting.

Neither dominant, neither fading.

And the personality walking beside him... was the one pushing harder... For now.
