Devil Equinox Chapter 23: A FRIEND FROM MY PAST

"You!" I said slowly. My anger was at a point where forgiveness was not an option and that all I wanted to do was to utterly kill him. He kept taunting and ranting on things I didn't care about. After a few monts of agony I decided to listen to him.

"You know how I felt when you decided to join forces with the angels?" he asked , and I knew I wasn't ant to answer it, "I felt betrayed that my friend, the leader of the Sinister Twelve and the hope that all demons looked up to worked with angels especially that whore of the Supre Deity's daughter you call a lover."

"Why did you get killed ?" I asked him.

"Why do you ask? Was it not obvious that everyone wanted you dead? Your father gave us a task but the Demon King gave an instruction to deal with you. With my power I can't do much to you but only to immobilize you and cause you this slow torturous pain before you were going to do die. I didn't want to do it but you were going to abandon when the Vanens found us out and our ploy. You left to die, so I stopped you to let them kill you."

I said nothing because I was fuming from what he had told . I got angrier then I pulled my hand from the chain ripping it in two. The pain was imnse but my anger didn't let feel much. I did the sa to my other hand and my sword, Titan Slayer, materialized into my hand as I grasped my hand on the on the handle of the blade. I cut the chain that pierced through my chest and pulled the remaining part of it out through my back.

I was bleeding a lot and stood there for a mont to catch my breath. Demicus walked toward slowly as if taunting , provoking my anger, trying to invoke a certain emotion I couldn't figure out. He was succeeding at it though I was reminded by the Aro in my head that it is what he intended, and should I lose my temper I would have done more than kill him, but include people who were never involved to begin.

I tried putting aside my anger. It proved incredibly difficult, but instead I channeled it and used to hone my focus and to better control myself. I remained quiet while he continued speaking, becoming obnoxious and irritating.

He noticed that his action was ineffective and stopped dead in his tracks. His face seed to develop a dire seriousness. He was no longer joking. "Very well, I must admit Ravedos you have changed," he said. He sighed out loud and opened his mouth, "It is ti to end this!" I exclaid.

Then he rushed . We were fighting each other, causing collateral damage to buildings all around and inside the one we stood. Our fists collided multiple tis, but we had to fight through the pain. I would miss my shots and he would because of a simple fact that we would dodge each other's attacks, breaking chunks out of pillars, creating in the walls and floors, even going through buildings.

The fight was indeed invigorating until he stabbed in the stomach with his blade, pulling closer to . He then pushed away while taking out his sword. I groaned at the pain and grabbed my stomach, putting pressure on the wound.

"This wasn't going to be a fair fight,"

"All this to stab in the end? You aren't who I rember anymore. You died to the day you betrayed ,"

"Ha! Look at the one who is speaking. Are you still hung up on that? After what you did to ? You don't know how it felt to be left to die,"

"You don't get it do you, I expected to be betrayed by the others not you. And to think you still see it as getting away. I needed to give myself a bit more ti before attacking rashly. However, you were always hard-headed to understand anything. I could've saved us both but your selfishness killed us. You don't how that felt now do you?"

"No, no, no! Liar! Everything you say is false that's not you. You would betray us in a blink of an eye if it ant saving your own skin."

I knew I had him where I wanted him. My sword materialized and I clutched it in my hand, then dashed toward him and slashed him. He blocked it with his hand and then I kicked him in the abdon into another building.

As he was flying, I rushed toward him and jumped in the air before striking him down into the pavent. He hit the ground hard and bounced back up into the air. I then used my montum to spin myself in proper alignnt so that I would kick sending him into another building.

When he crashed I ran toward to not give him a chance to recover. And I jumped and used my knees to hit him in the chest. I had him gasp out for air before I could grab him. "You are right about one thing, I have changed," I whispered in his ear before I tossed him to the side.

He laid there in the floor breathing. I walked up toward him then I felt a fist connect with my jaw. It had little power so it just barely moved my head. I turned my head toward my new attacker and it was Dante. His presence had surprised since I didn't expect him to be there. "What are you doing here?" I asked him incredulously.

"I think you might want to look out!" he said alarmingly. I was about to process what he ant by that, when Demicus tackled into the ground and sat atop giving a barrage of fists. I could only block him but Dante helped out of a pinch.

He wasted no ti and shot Demicus off of . He stopped mid-attack and fell onto his side. I was relieved for that mont. Dante helped up on to my feet. "That was close don't you think?" he asked a rhetorical question though he was the one who had put in the situation.

"What the hell are you doing here?" I asked vexed.

"Well I was minding my business and I heard destruction taking place and rushed here as fast as I could to get here. Then I bumped into you and that demon attacked you and I shot it,"

"He is not dead you know that, right?"

By so twist in the fucking plot, a chain impaled in the leg and fell onto one knee. Dante saw it and imdiately cut it with his sword. I get back on my feet and turned around to see Demicus slowly rising using his own chains.

I knew that our fight wasn't over and this was about to be intense.

Author: Hey guys it is I. Writing this story is quite tricky and these fight scenes are not the easiest to wrote either. This story is definitely an intricate one I have to take care to write but I am doing this for the love of it.
