Now reading: Chapter 50: THE ONE WHO LEFT from Devil Equinox, a Action novel by Aro Frags.

Dawn broke in the night sky another day of being in that wretched city. I had recovered from the night before, though I had been left baffled by Maggie or whoever that was. Things aren't making sense, and the team was not enthused in our current state. Nonetheless, I had to contact Alia personally and inform her about Maggie.

When it ca to it, I couldn't help but wonder what she was hiding from. All I had been dealing with in the city is a lot obscener from what it looked like form the surface. I texted the results of the results of our progress on the list.

Imdiately she asked to et, nothing else but that. Next, she had written saying that we need to talk about sothing privately. She then suggested the diner she usually is in.

Monts later, out in the bustling, greedy, horny streets of Bronix City I arrived at the diner. Busier than ever more custors ca in for the new food item on the nu, and it is one of the best delicacies anyone could have, and the aroma caressed my nose with eccentric scents of turric and so herbs with ginger in the mix. It was a scent that would make one's mouth salivate uncontrollably.

I was not there for the food I was there for business. Alia wasn't sitting in the crowded tables, and she seed to be nowhere I could normally find her. Before I left one of the diner employees called out to , "Sir! Co this way!" they instructed.

They gestured to the back of the diner, and I went back there. When I got there, I thought a dead end or so I thought, to my right and left seed to be nothing but a wall. I sighed in frustration and a door to my right opened and Alia stood by the entrance in modest clothing. She seed to have changed her look as well since she had no makeup at all.

"Are you staying out here or coming in?" she asked. I waked inside the hidden room she had in the back quite a spacious room, but it did not interfere with layout of the diner outside. It was a lounge area for staff to sit and relax during and even after their shifts. It had a working sink, a microwave, a coffee maker, weapons for defence hidden in cupboards two black four sitter coaches, three similar black leather lounge chairs and a coffee table. At the furthest dark corner in the room was a chair ant to torture people in.

"What a nice room." I complinted. She looked at with her eyes wide and beca flustered then instinctively looked away from before parting her lips. "It's, umm, it's nothing. Can we talk about Maggie without making things weird?" she said. I narrowed my eyes and furrowed my eyebrows.

"Look Captain, shits a ss right now and you killing Maggie made things worse already. The Harlem spoke to about this, and he let go keeping his word to after that night and now he sees that you are a pest in his sche and wants to get rid of you. Reason why we are in this room, to talk without his n coming over to stop us or kill you. You're the only person who gave light and now you're going to die because of ,"

"I can handle them, let him throw all he has and I will take him and this network he created. I promised to take care of that list and I won't stop, not now."

"You don't fucking get it, Captain. I gave you that list because I had no one to help . I knew you would die doing it and just needed a simple way out. After I killed or that's what I thought happened and you being my master and all that bullshit, I actually have grown to like you. I am begging you to stop, please, for my sake."

"No, I won't"

"What are you fucking stupid you're going to get yourself killed. I don't want that."

"Alia it's now my mission to end this and take care of this network he grew. Let do this. Besides I won't die easily and even if I did die, I won't stay dead. So, wipe those tears off your face there's no need to tear up,"

"…"

"We will talk later,"

Before she could utter another word, I left her alone to deal with her emotions. Outside the room, I t the still bustling diner and amidst the crowd a cloaked figure slipped through unnoticed and dragged into the n's restroom. I was prepared to fight, but the cloaked individual took off the hood and let their shoulder length brunette hair, and they were an impeccably, lustrously beautiful woman and I knew her, "lissa?" I asked her.

She smiled and parted her lips, "My love how long has it been since we have last seen each other and yet I still rember your power?" she asked with a delighted smile.

"It has been too long," I responded.

lissa was a lovely angel and daughter of the Supre Deity, my mother though I had been long banished for that ho before her existence, so, it was not an incestuous relationship for we are not blood related. She was a noteworthy warrior at heart, her slim figure and slightly large breasts that are conspicuous and had not seen the light of day. She was at a wonderful 1.61 m tall, and her fighting prowess is wonderful to say the least.

"We must speak Ravedos, it is paramount in your endeavour which you had embarked on!" she spoke urgently.

"What is it about?" I asked her.

"It is about an angel you had co across the day before that you had beheaded in her undercover form. She went under the na Maggie, and I am sure you recall that na."

"Yes, I rember. What is this about lissa?"

"She ca and gave her report working with the human by the na The Harlem and she supplied her with all the demonic materials he needed for whatever he needed, unfortunately you had killed her undercover persona, and The Harlem is aware of this. She had reported to my mother's right hand Laderia the angel who overwatches the progress of the angel's activities. She had given Donartha the chance to take up revenge on the one that had killed though, she is unknowledgeable of you and what you had done."

"So, I must deal with a bloodthirsty angel, and The Harlem with the hands I have already at my disposal. I would be delighted if you would join to win in the upcoming battle."

"I would love to and have my body on your once more, however I must not engage in your activities unlike Tarius, I have pleaded with my mother, but her right hand, Laderia, would not allow. So, now I must take my leave my love until we death reunites us for all eternity."

"For until death reunites us once more,"

"Goodbye Ravedos."

Then she left hastefully. 'Donartha?' I thought to myself. I have never before engaged with her, and I do not recall her being around. She must be a newly instated angel in the Supre Deity's fleet of warrior angels.

"She knew how you use your weapons and yet was surprised by the gauntlets. Do you not think that is evidence enough to suggest so?" my Mind queried.

"Not at all, Mind. Many other angels have not seen use my gauntlets, and as such I cannot assu that she is the only one, but she must've been told that I use my sword and pistols only." My Body replied.

"It is plausible that she may have been told. It seems that Tarius may have been aware of such a situation and had indeed given Lendrick a detailed description of your gauntlets, though they are lacking so magic from your power to enhance them."

"Rember Mind that Titan Slayer was restored to its original condition and was hardened afterward thanks to him. Tarius was not trying to get involved in the fights we were in, but the last one two years had forced him."

"How is it that you know of this, and I have not been inford Body! Are your assumptions so absurd that you draw such ridiculous conclusions?!?"

"Silence! The both of you should rember that you are in the sa vessel and shall cooperate with each other!" Aro intervened.

"Very well, Aro. We shall COOPERATE as you say." My Mind relented.

I had to go back to my team and see where we go from here in the mission.

Authors note: Hey there reader! I know it's been a while since I have done these notes and apologies for the last chapter taking so long to be published. I needed to take a week long break from this novel, it is getting intense in the story line, I know but it does take a while to think of all this and have it typed out and I was trying to get things done for my other non-WebNovel novel. Yeah! Another novel and that one is my debut novel that I published earlier this year. I will leave the link in the comnts if you guys are interested. Until next chapter.
