I entered the safe room and witnessed Marie held above the floor by her throat. It wasn't anyone from the list and I had not t them either. But they, they looked like . Clenching my feet I thought of attacking but they stopped in my tracks. "I wouldn't do that if I were," he spoke calmly. "You don't want to harm your team now do you? Very good now have a seat."

My anger was riled up, and I had to control it for their sake. After Marie fell unconscious, he gently set her down on the floor along with the others he had managed to subdue.

"Your team is very lively, but foolish except for that demon who noticed sothing different," he spoke softly.

"You sure have a mouth that can say all of that!" I said agitated.

He didn't respond afterward, only placed his finger on his pale lips. "You don't want to wake them up with all that anger, now do you? For now, we are waiting on other guests,"

"Did General Mynde send you here?!?!"

He slowly shook his head, "Tsk, tsk, tsk. Why would your general make a clone of you and order to take your team out," he explained. "No, he isn't that smart. I will give him credit where it's due, but this one is not it."

Silence enveloped the room only to be broken by footsteps approaching the room, two individuals stepped inside one male and the other female, one seed depressed and the seed lively. They carried peculiar items with them, but I couldn't ask.

The doppelganger furrowed his eyebrows, counting their heads, though he said nothing about it.

The depressed one spoke drearily on finishing this task so that he wouldn't have to work this much. Then the cheery girl spoke up and tried to lighten the mood. My doppelganger sighed deeply as if he knew this always happened.

Then a short-tempered woman walked in. She was dark skinned and had tight clothes on her. Her body was defined and toned, I knew she worked out, her face was smooth and round. I could see the anger in her eyes as she furrowed her brows, crossing her arms and leaned by the doorway. "When are we going to get this shit done!" she said impatiently.

"Hey Cordina, you gotta be positive and relax. Marcus got it sorted, right boss?" the cheery girl spoke.

"Well, it depends on him. Right Captain?" he said smirking at .

All eyes were on . 'I can't fight them all at once. What can I do here?' I thought to myself.

"Let's cut to the chase. You have been dealing with the wrong people and that gave you a target on your back. The Underground Network you are facing, we are also dealing with. So, we have a mutual enemy. One of our own – another copy – was killed by Maggie and you got yourself in deeper shit than I expected. Besides her, you managed to get their whole arsenal against you, even The Harlem. Shit! You even had his right-hand man go toe-to-toe with you.

"What a fucking ss you made. Then you went quiet for almost two days, and you ca back. I want to make a deal with you. You help us kill every single one of those bastards and we will let you live."

"As if you are in such a position to make offers like that!" I retorted.

"You're right, I am in no position to do so, but I have leverage. I could kill your team, starting with this angel bitch then this feisty girl here dies last. Or you could let them live and co with us. What do you say?"

"No!"

Cordina walked up to and grabbed by the throat. "You really think you have an option!" she shouted. Her face twisted even more in anger, and she looked down at her abdon, I placed my gun on her. "Don't be rash. You should think before you act," I told her calmly.

Marcus slowly clapped and the sound echoed down the hall. "I am astonished that you didn't get intimidated," he said. Then he gestured her to get away from . She reluctantly got off stood by the door and glared at .

"Most people would have pissed themselves, but it seems you are not most people," he said smirking. "Henry, Carla, Cordina, I think it's best we leave, since he declined our offer," Marcus told the trio.

"Aww man, I wanted to work with him," Carla said disappointed.

They left the room, but Marcus stood by the door and spoke to . "You want answers, et in the diner down the block if… I an, when you want to talk. I wasn't really planning on killing your team either way." He told . He then left and followed the others.

I sat on the couch near the door, thinking to myself. 'Did he need to do that?' 'What is his ga?' I asked myself but I couldn't generate a reasonable explanation. It seed too hard to do so but it was all that could be done.

Tending to my team they were all unconscious but not injured. I placed them gently on each of their beds and stayed up looking through files and any files of Marcus and his colleagues. Nothing ca up. 'Looks like Mynde doesn't know about them,' I concluded in my mind.

My phone buzzed and looked through the text that appeared.

It was from Alia, but it wasn't written by her. It was written quite differently; it wasn't informative or her asking for a mont of my ti. It read, 'I am starting to be impatient you know. When are you coming by to talk?'

Hmm. I didn't expect this either reader. It seems like Marcus ant it as an expectation rather than an option.

I needed information, so, I left my team to speak with him.

When I arrived there and entered the diner Alia was sitting closer to the back of the diner, while my hospitably host set by the table closest to the counter. Cordina sat, leaning on one of the tables by the window side eying arms crossed while Henry and Carla were chatting away by the counter. I looked back at Marcus, showing a smile moving his hand gesturing to have a sit.

"You saw my ssage?" he asked rhetorically. "Who am I kidding? You did!"

Clenching my jaws, I remained silent knowing that he wanted an emotion out of . I didn't give him the satisfaction.

"I am here. What do you want?" I asked him.

He shrugged off casually and leaned toward his head facing . "I need your help." he said under a low breath.

"Why should you after what you did?"

He leaned back into his seat, lowered his head and parted his lips. "You still hung up on that? Look it was all theatrics, intimidation tactics, if you must. I really had no intention of killing your team, I wanted to get you on my side so that you would help with a little of mine."

"Alia, what do you think?" I asked her.

"I call it bullshit," she answered.

"You heard the lady. One thing you should know about I don't tolerate bullshit," I told Marcus.

He looked back at Alia, sitting on a chair pissed about what he took from her forcefully. He then looked back at and sighed deeply.

"Looked, we got off the wrong foot, here. I sincerely apologize but I do need your help. In a few minutes Alia's ex is going to co in through those and when he sees you, he will kill everyone in this building including you. But you can help stop that -,"

Cut off by a man walking into the diner. He looked at the entrance. Then that person asked, "Alia, what the fuck is this? Who are these clowns?" he asked angrily.

I turned to look at him and the mont our eyes t; he let out a deranged laughter. I got up from the seat and faced him. After laughing he spoke, "Alia how foolish do you really think I am?" Speechless all she could utter was, "It isn't what it looks like." Slowly shaking his head, he bit off flesh from his hand and transford into a demon.

"The Harlem will not tolerate liars," he spoke in a hoarse and deep voice.

"You are not going anywhere near her!" I declared and attacked him.
