Ten Cyan Wind Wolves were practically a small pack.
A single wolf might not be much to worry about.
But a wolf pack was undoubtedly a terrifying force.
Any experienced hunter in the wild would rather face a tiger or leopard than a vicious wolf pack.
"So, what have you decided? Are you going, or not?"
"If you want to go, I can take you there right now."
You Yun stared at Chu Qingyun, asking.
If it had been any other Martial Artist or Assassin, she wouldn't have bothered.
But she was extrely curious about Chu Qingyun.
The fear her Martial Soul had felt that day was deeply etched into her mind, impossible to forget.
Finally, Chu Qingyun gritted his teeth and nodded. "I'll go!"
'Since I've already decided to enter the Life and Death Arena, there's no point in being picky. Better to get it over with sooner rather than later.'
You Yun led Chu Qingyun into a secret passage off the main hall.
After more than ten minutes in the winding secret passage, faint shouts and roars began to reach Chu Qingyun's ears.
He rounded a corner, and his jaw dropped in shock.
Before him was a circular cavern, nearly two hundred ters in diater and over a hundred ters high.
About a hundred ters below him was a two-hundred-ter-wide arena floor, where a masked Martial Artist was locked in a life-or-death battle with six Cyan Wind Wolves.
The cavern walls, from the arena floor all the way up to Chu Qingyun's position, were lined with tier upon tier of spectator stands.
The n and won in the stands, both young and old, all had bloodshot eyes. They pumped their fists, screaming and roaring as they stared down at the slaughter below.
"What do you think? I bet you never imagined Qingshan City had a place like this."
You Yun scanned the people in the stands, a flicker of disgust in her eyes.
"Everyone who cos here is either rich or powerful. The entrance fee alone is more than an ordinary person could earn in a lifeti."
"Everyone who enters wears a mask."
"Hidden behind their masks, they can shed their dayti facades and unleash all the darkness in their hearts."
You Yun remarked coolly.
Down on the floor below, the Martial Artist managed to kill two Cyan Wind Wolves before he made a fatal error and was pounced upon. The remaining four wolves instantly surrounded him and began to tear him apart, still alive.
Flesh and viscera splattered everywhere.
The gory, brutal scene only made the crowd in the stands more excited.
They went wild, screaming and roaring.
Chu Qingyun even saw a few people get so worked up they actually passed out.
So even grabbed nearby attendants or others in the crowd and began to have sex right there in public.
In an instant, Chu Qingyun was filled with loathing for this place.

You Yun took Chu Qingyun to an area behind the Life and Death Arena, found a man in a large dog mask, and stated her purpose without any preamble.
"A Level 7 Martial Artist? Ten wolves?"
"Is he suicidal? The one who was just torn apart was a Level 7 Martial Artist, and he couldn't even handle six."
The man code-nad Celestial Moon said with a frown.
You Yun turned her head to look at Chu Qingyun.
The items Chu Qingyun wanted to buy totaled nearly four thousand Middle Grade Primordial Stones, which ant that fighting ten wolves was the absolute minimum for him.
"Make it ten," Chu Qingyun said after a mont's thought.
'I should be able to handle ten Cyan Wind Wolves, which are comparable to Level 7 or 8 Martial Artists,' he thought.

"Fine… Black Saber, Level 7 Martial Artist, Tier Two Five-Star Vine Soul, challenging ten Cyan Wind Wolves."

Celestial Moon jotted sothing down on a form, then turned to busy himself elsewhere.
His earlier warning had just been a casual remark; he truly didn't care whether Chu Qingyun lived or died.
"One against ten… Black Saber, I have no idea where you get this courage of yours."
"If you think these Demon Beast Cyan Wind Wolves are as stupid as regular animals, you're gravely mistaken. As Tier One Demon Beasts, they possess a degree of Spiritual awareness."
You Yun said, standing beside Chu Qingyun and tilting her head as they waited.
Her graceful figure continuously drew the gazes of those passing by, but she herself paid them no mind.
Chu Qingyun turned his head to stare at the arena floor ahead. "Earlier today, I went to the Great Xia Martial Palace and got a five-win streak."
"Oh? A five-win streak!"
A glint of understanding flashed in You Yun's eyes.
She had been in Qingshan City for so ti and was sowhat familiar with the standards at the local Great Xia Martial Palace.
"Getting a five-win streak ans your combat prowess is in the upper echelons, even among Level 8 Martial Artists."
"Now that you ntion it, I'm actually starting to look forward to this…"
At that mont, a Level 6 Martial Artist in a pure black mask entered the arena. His challenge: three Cyan Wind Wolves.
Three minutes later, amid the ecstatic cheers of the crowd, the Martial Artist was mauled beyond recognition. His only achievent was severely wounding one of the Cyan Wind Wolves.
The second Martial Artist to enter also failed, dying a grueso death under the wolves' claws.
The third to go up was a Level 9 Martial Artist. By giving it his absolute all, he finally managed to kill ten Cyan Wind Wolves, but at the cost of a severely wounded arm.
"Black Saber, you're up! Get in there!"
Celestial Moon shouted to Chu Qingyun upon returning to the staging area.
Chu Qingyun nodded, walking slowly along the opened passageway and into the arena.
The corpses of the Martial Artists and Cyan Wind Wolves who had died earlier had not been cleared away; they were scattered carelessly around the arena floor.
The entire space was filled with the tallic tang of blood, a scent that sent a stimulating jolt of excitent through the crowd.
"Lords and ladies!"
"This brave warrior, code-nad Black Saber, is a Level 7 Martial Artist, and he possesses a Tier Two Five-Star Vine Soul!"
"And he will be challenging… ten Cyan Wind Wolves!!"
A man on a high platform at the edge of the arena, wearing a mask with a handlebar mustache, shouted at the top of his lungs.
His voice, amplified by so special device, carried clearly to the ears of everyone present.
"Now, open the gates and release the wolves!"
Before his voice had even faded, ten large gates around the arena periter swung open, and a cyan figure flashed out of each one.
Ten giant wolves, each the size of a calf, bounded into the arena.
Each of the giant wolves had pale cyan fur, with fangs and claws that glinted with a cold, sharp light.
Their eyes, glowing green with hunger, stared intently at Chu Qingyun as an aura of savage brutality gradually enveloped the entire arena.
The ten Cyan Wind Wolves did not charge in blindly. Instead, they advanced slowly, subtly forming an encirclent around Chu Qingyun.
"Kill him! Tear him to shreds, my darlings!"
"Eat him! Crush his skull!"
"Go on, attack, attack!"
Amid the frenzied roars from the crowd, the giant wolves let out a low, knowing growl in unison, then pounced on Chu Qingyun all at once.
