When its head exploded, no blood ca out.
The headless corpse of the giant rat went limp like a deflating balloon. Then, it shockingly dissolved into clusters of a golden substance that floated in mid-air and slowly began to dissipate.
At that mont, Chu Qingyun's Devouring Martial Soul shot out uncontrollably and swiftly swallowed all the golden substance.
"What... what's going on?"
Chu Qingyun was completely bewildered, unable to understand what had happened.
However, before he had a chance to think, he felt a violent, scorching presence rush into his mind.
Chu Qingyun tried absorbing a bit of that power. He imdiately felt his body beco light and airy. The countless wounds covering him began to itch, a sign that they were starting to heal.
What surprised him even more was that by absorbing just a little, the Primordial Power in his Qi Sea surged dramatically, accumulating an imnse amount in an instant.
'This stuff is incredible!'
Chu Qingyun was ecstatic. He was about to absorb more when he found he couldn't draw in any more of the power.
Clearly, Ning Xue had noticed it too. She wanted to use this power to go to Xiu Lin to cultivate and break through, which was why she had made her move, actively fighting Chu Qingyun for it.
And given her strength, Chu Qingyun was naturally no match for her.
But just then, the Devouring Martial Soul in Chu Qingyun's Dantian suddenly stirred, as if it had been provoked.
The Devouring Martial Soul, which had been a chaotic mass, suddenly began to spin, transforming into a vortex. A terrifying Devouring Power erupted from its center.
All of that power—even the portion Ning Xue had already absorbed into her body—was violently ripped out by the Devouring Power and pulled into Chu Qingyun.
Even her Qi Sea was shaken. The Primordial Power within it churned violently, and she was horrified.
A small portion of the power was absorbed by Chu Qingyun's body, greatly improving his constitution. The vast majority, however, followed the Devouring Power into his Qi Sea.
The Primordial Power in his Qi Sea rose at a visible rate.
Soon, the Primordial Power filled his entire Qi Sea.
Chu Qingyun knew this was the critical mont before a breakthrough. He gritted his teeth and did his best to compress and refine the Primordial Power in his Qi Sea.
In an instant, the bloating, painful sensation in his Qi Sea abruptly vanished. The Primordial Power instantly beca much purer.
He understood that he had advanced. He was now a Tier Two Martial Artist!
After advancing to Tier Two, his Primordial Power beca purer and more condensed, taking up much less space in his Qi Sea.
But as more of that power was devoured, the Primordial Power in his Qi Sea once again rose rapidly, soon filling it completely.
'Such powerful energy...'
Chu Qingyun gritted his teeth and compressed the Primordial Power in his Qi Sea once more.
He broke through again. Chu Qingyun beca a Tier Three Martial Artist, and his Primordial Power continued to rise until it occupied half of his Qi Sea before the mysterious energy was finally depleted.
You have to understand, Chu Qingyun's Qi Sea was a terrifying expanse, ten thousand ters wide.
The power that allowed him to jump two tiers, from a Tier One Martial Artist to a Tier Three Martial Artist, would probably be enough for a normal Martial Artist with a Tier Two Martial Soul to advance to Tier Seven, or even Tier Eight!
