The rough voice exploded alongside the sound of the whip, causing the other slaves locked in the cage to involuntarily shiver.
They glanced with timidity and resentnt at the Guard Captain who was cursing angrily while torturing the slaves.
There was fear in their eyes, but even more so a sense of satisfaction.
Not because the slave being whipped to a bloody pulp was their enemy, but because of the current state of the Guard Captain.
At this mont, Guard Captain Karim appeared extrely miserable. His right eye socket had split open into a bloody hole, the eyeball missing, fresh flesh pulsating in the firelight.
Thick blood oozed from the socket, staining half of his fierce face red, making him appear even more sinister.
Due to his negligence in supervision, allowing the escape of the two most important slaves, he was severely punished by the caravan master!
The mysterious Mage personally gouged out Karim’s right eye and cast a special magic on his socket to prevent the flesh there from scabbing over, forcing him to constantly feel the pain of his eye being slowly pulled out.
At the sa ti, the Mage used Karim’s fresh blood to carve a bizarre crimson markings across half of his face.
This was the punishnt.
But at the sa ti, it was also a gift.
Upon completion of the crimson marking, the Guard Captain, who initially only had Middle Tier strength, was actually elevated to High Tier!
Additionally, although he lost his right eye, Karim gained a new ability—a new form of vision.

His appearance was terrifying enough by itself, and coupled with the hollow eye socket, he looked even more chilling.
The entire cell was silent as the grave, no one dared to speak up at this mont.
Not that they didn’t know how Teresa and the others escaped, but even if they did know, they wouldn’t tell this guy.
None of them believed in the benefits Karim promised.
Trust him?
One might as well believe that a god would send an Angel to save them!
Anyway, Karim certainly wouldn’t grant them freedom, and betraying them would not offer any benefits, would it?

Karim obviously knew his credibility was lacking and gritted his teeth in embarrassnt and anger: "So you won’t talk? Fine! You’re courting death then..."

But the slave, already tortured beyond recognition, did not utter a sound at the violent shaking and directly passed out.

He turned his head and yelled at the other guards outside the door: "Get the dicine now! Hurry!"
He was panicking.

When the caravan master found out, he was afraid his other eye would be gone too!
