After finally escaping the chase of the Angels, Flora seized a rare opportunity and avoided the watchful eyes, luckily leaving the Abyss.

She succeeded.

Flora finally arrived at the Mortal Realm she had longed for.

She reached the Mortal Realm, which she had fantasized about countless tis using descriptions from books in the Abyss.

There was no nauseating atmosphere of the Abyss, no lurking enemies threatening life at every mont, no endless battles.

However, the real Mortal Realm was slightly different from what she imagined.

Her initial place of descent was a land filled with blood and fire.

Where her eyes could see, all was the tragic scene of war raging.

Thick smoke rolled like black Giant Dragons, spiraling into the sky, obscuring the azure sky.

Charred land lay scattered with blood-stained weapons, the Broken Blades in dead hands flickered with eerie glints under the setting sun.

The crops in the fields were trampled into a ss, what should be vibrant green now remained only wilted yellow and decay.

The roads were full of fleeing crowds, clad in rags, a ss all over them, eyes filled with fear and despair.

Behind them were laughing marauders, playfully beheading the elders falling behind, forcing others to continue fleeing.

Further away, tongues of fire licked everything.

A ravaged village was engulfed in roaring flas, wooden houses crackling and collapsing amidst the wailing.

In the ruins of the broken village, another part with black-robed eerie figures was holding so cruel ritual.

They chanted as they ignited piled up corpses.

Those remains quickly shriveled under the grilling fla, emitting creepy green fire, spreading a sinister Fallen aura.

In the flas, Flora slled a familiar scent, it was a sacrificial ritual to summon Abyss creatures.

The cries and pleas of people, the laughter of marauders, the chanting of Evil God Cultists, intertwined together.

Soul-stirring, strange and terrifying, leaving one speechless.

Blood and fire.

Slaughter and death.

This was Flora's first impression of the Mortal Realm.

This feeling was just like returning to the Abyss.

The current Mortal Realm, although lacking the harsh and bad natural environnt of the Abyss, lacking visible dangerous Demons.

Yet the ever-present fires of war and endless conflicts were no different from the Abyss.

Flora hesitated, her first reaction was thinking she was still in the Abyss, not actually in the Mortal Realm.

But deep down she knew... this was indeed the Mortal Realm.

"..."

Flora stood disappointedly among the thick smoke above the scorched earth, the setting sun elongated her shadow, overlapping with the scattered corpses.

She looked towards the village still burning in the distance, the rising smoke seed to transform into the rolling black mist of the Abyss — a fellow countryman of hers was about to be summoned.

Flora knew she had to leave.

If she stayed here, she was bound to run into that guy.

She had barely smuggled into the Mortal Realm and didn't want to be associated with such blood ritual responding lunatics.

Finally, Flora sighed and withdrew her gaze of rcy from the soon-to-die innocents.

Her figure blended into the thicker fog, quietly disappeared like a thin mist blown away by the wind.

Flora left.

She didn't know what had actually happened here nor did she understand the grievances between them.

She was not the ssenger of justice but a Demon from the Abyss.

Although Flora was naturally disdainful of slaughter, she didn't have that strong sense of justice.

The most important thing at the mont was to ensure her own safety.

As for the lives and deaths of mortals, it had nothing to do with her.

Just that, at that ti Flora didn't understand, in many cases, the developnt of things would not go according to her will.

The river of destiny is the freest.

No one can know which direction it will eventually flow.

Although Flora chose to actively avoid such things, destiny was not planning to spare her.

Half a month after Flora left, just as she was about done observing the Mortal Realm, preparing to completely blend into it... a group of people found her.

It was a well-equipped, perfectly paired squad of Holy Professionals.

They wore silver-white armor, held weapons shining with holy light, rushing towards her like a pack of wolves hunting.

"Fallen Abyss Demon! You must pay for the tragedy you caused! In the na of the Sun God, we will purify you!"

They declared righteously, adjudicating cris that she hadn't committed.

No more explanation was needed, Flora understood why they ca — they identified her as the Demon summoned by that cultist ritual.

As for whether the actual Demon was killed after the summoning or wasn't summoned successfully at all, Flora didn't know.

She only knew she beca that guy's scapegoat, bearing heavy sins.

Flora's heart was full of grievance and anger, but she didn't lose her sanity.

Not wanting to fight these people, she had no choice but to choose to flee — and was unsurprisingly continuously pursued.

To not attract stronger pursuers, Flora always kept her power at High Tier.

This led to her being surrounded again and again, escaping again and again, then continuing to be chased.

Over and over, back and forth.

Eventually, after being trapped the fourth ti, Flora finally had enough and fought back, revealing her true strength.

Those Holy Professionals with at most High Tier strength were not her match as a Legendary Enchanting Demon, easily dispatched by her.

This was the worst outco, she didn't want to conflict with the Divine Spirit Church, didn't wish to be targeted by the gods right at the start.

What surprised Flora was, after eliminating these enemies, deciding to fight with her back against the wall, she didn't wait for stronger pursuers unexpectedly.

It was like no one noticed the deaths of these foolish guys.

Whether it was the Divine Spirits who didn't care about their deaths, or simply didn't notice.

Flora waited a full half month without receiving pursuers, although confused, she finally cald down.

After burying those foolish annoying but sowhat respectable Holy Professionals, Flora left.

After this lousy start, Flora finally officially comnced her exploration in the Mortal Realm.

She altered her appearance, donned a heavy cloak, and concealed her aura.

In the coming century, Flora walked in such a mysterious guise.

She passed through bustling towns and trod on desolate villages.

Seen the luxury of nobles and the hardship of the poor.

In this wandering-like exploration, she encountered various mortals.

People hated each other, fought each other, seized others' lives.

The Mortal Realm and the Abyss were indistinguishable.

But at the sa ti, there was so difference between the Mortal Realm and the Abyss.

Love.

She witnessed parents humble themselves in plea so their child could eat a bite, saw shy yet genuine affection between young n and won, saw mutual support among friends.

And these were completely unimaginable in the Abyss.

Though Flora always claid she wished to attain love, wished to fall in love with soone, witnessing others' "love" truly left her silent.

Flora didn't understand love.

In the face of kindness extended towards her, she even felt frightened, choosing to evade.

But while constantly evading, she also grew more yearning for this unfamiliar emotion.

"Perhaps, I could try?"

Even with such a thought, she never put it into practice, backing out at crucial monts every ti.

Until one day, a change occurred.

That day, Flora encountered a youth by a lakeside.

That white-haired, handso youth bathing in the lake showed her astonishing kindness.

"Hey hey hey! Beautiful lady, nice to et you, would you like to be friends with ?"

"Who am I?"

"Oh! This lady, you're quite bold, asking for nas upfront?"

"Haha, you can call — Lake Immortal!"

"Of course, if you don't like that title, you can also call ..."

The youth aningfully curled up his lips, winked at her, and spoke his na.

"Herbert."

"Don't worry if you can't rember my na the first ti, you'll definitely rember it in the future."
