The demons both relaxed, but the giant dragon was the only one tangled up in confusion.
Valentina tilted her head in bewildernt, blinking incessantly in doubt.
"Huh? How could this happen..."
Outside the door, the only magical fluctuation belonged to Bishop Evelyn. Valentina almost sniffed all the air out of the mansion but couldn't detect anyone else's scent beyond the door.
Could it really be just one person out there?
But this isn't right!
Could I be mistaken?
"This is really strange, it's impossible... There's clearly a dangerous aura outside the door!"
With a signal from Flora, Valentina scratched her head and walked to the door.
After opening the door to let Evelyn in, Miss Hungry Dragon slamd the door shut and pressed Evelyn against it.
Stop!
"Hmm... huh?" Evelyn furrowed her brow, trying to raise a hand to push Valentina away, but controlled herself as it reached halfway.
Sniff sniff.
Valentina circled around Evelyn in puzzlent, examining her closely, sniffing incessantly, almost just short of reaching out with her hand.
After a thorough investigation, Valentina finally concluded—Evelyn truly was without issue.
As for why there was a misjudgnt, it was probably due to being too tense, ssing up her perception.
Once Evelyn was finally "cleared" and free, she didn't waste ti, turning towards Kreti, who was folding her arms in the corner with a "this doesn't concern " look.
She nodded slightly towards her and said slowly, "Would you kindly join in the room privately? I have sothing I wish to discuss with you."
Evelyn's intent was clear, she was here for Kreti.
"You're looking for ?"
Kreti raised an eyebrow, looking at Evelyn, who inexplicably singled her out, and retorted, "Do I know you? I believe I've never seen you before."
To the demon's prickly deanor, Evelyn calmly responded, "You probably don't know , but I know you... as 'Profane Whisper' or perhaps 'Noble Blood Thorn,' am I right?"
"Oh?"
Upon hearing those titles after a long ti, Kreti's eyes narrowed slightly, looking at Evelyn with increasing vigilance.
This person actually knows !
I've been confined for so long, and yet soone outside still rembers !
You so-called righteous beings, don't you have better things to do!?
Can't you handle actual business?
Why do you keep an eye on a confined demon like all day?
However, while Kreti was secretly grumbling, she couldn't help but feel a bit pleased.
Hmm hmm~
They still rember my renown!
Indeed, it seems I'm quite famous after all.
They must be furious about the great achievents I made back then!
It's very much a case of "Who in the world doesn't recognize ?" satisfaction.
Kreti puffed up her chest, taking her ti to speak over Flora's words with a sense of pride.
See!
You two, especially that damn demon, take a good look at !
I'm not soone to be easily bullied!
The demon's tone returned to its forr haughty style, arrogantly saying, "Since you're so concerned about , you must have a connection with , right? Hatred?"
"There is indeed a slight connection between us."
Evelyn nodded, quietly looking at her, and said calmly, "My parents died because of you."
A blood feud, a mother's death... quite a standard trope.
"Heh heh, haha, just as I thought."
Kreti had no intention of being intimidated by the other's attitude; on the contrary, she licked her lips seductively.
Her expression increasingly satisfied, she stepped forward and leaned down, whispering closely to Evelyn's ear, "So, this pitiable orphan who lost both parents, are you here to seek revenge?"
Her whisper lingered gently by Bishop Evelyn's ear, attempting to pull her into past mories.
Blood vengeance.
Eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth.
Killing and being killed, endless cycles of revenge, at any cost.
This originally was an unspoken rule among hunters but gradually spread throughout every corner of the world.
Demons were fond of this rule.
In this pursuit and being pursued, demons could feel imnse pleasure.
Kreti similarly enjoyed it, finding happiness in the avengers' suffering.
She was a demon.
Despite being an eccentric loner, demon blood still coursed through her veins.
Provoke her, anger her, then watch her rage powerlessly—
It's a rare delight!
However, this ti, Kreti misunderstood sothing.
She missed a crucial detail for the current situation.
"You're mistaken."
After listening to Kreti's words, Evelyn gently shook her head and softly said, "I am not here to seek revenge, quite the opposite, I am here to express gratitude."
Yes.
She wasn't here to seek revenge; instead, she ca to offer a thank-you banner!
Kreti blinked blankly, her poised stance and brewed emotions disrupted.
"Thank... ?"
???
? Being thanked?
Sothing's not right!
Have I ever done anything good in my life?
Miss Devil was bewildered.
She even turned her head in confusion to look at her companions—hey, did you guys also hear her say sothing wrong?
Please tell yes.
Otherwise, this doesn't make sense!!?
Valentina blinked and quietly shifted her gaze aside—soon locking eyes with the fourth jar.
