Now reading: Chapter 842 - 429: Master of Nature from Diary of Guarding Monster Girls, a Fantasy novel by Bahrain.

The Master of Nature is not part of the camps of justice or evil; He is neither friend nor foe to either side, never partaking in the conflicts between Pantheons, and refuses to sign any alliance treaties.

He has and only ever has one camp—[Nature].

Anyone who is against nature is against Him, and anyone who is with nature is with Him.

As everyone knows, trying to stay out of the conflict between colossal beings generally involves so special reason.

Either one is too insignificant to be noticed, or too powerful to be provoked.

And the Master of Nature, this taciturn elder, has nothing particularly special.

Except for one thing—He can fight.

Oh, my apologies, I misspoke.

He can fight very well!

With the most imposing physique among all Ancient Gods, His strength stands at the pinnacle among all Divines.

To this day, the Master of Nature remains the most adept in physical combat in the entire world, unmatched!

So, those divines—are they turning a blind eye? Or do they just not want to be beaten to pulp by branches?

This, indeed, remains unknown.

And seemingly having thought of the sa thing as the Cold Winter Goddess, the Spring Bud Goddess looked at the broken tree roots and sighed, "Such a benevolent existence, yet fallen to such a state... Sacrificed Himself, yet remains unknown to the world."

"He willingly sacrificed."

The Goddess of Cool Sumr’s eyes drooped, fiery red pupils flickering with fervent flas, yet her tone was unusually flat as she negated, "And He never needed anyone’s gratitude."

In fact, the Master of Nature was not killed by anyone.

This is improbable from a common sense perspective, for one holding the authority of [Life] is virtually impossible to be forcibly killed by others.

Not even the Sun God at his peak could accomplish that.

Therefore, the truth could only be one—the Master of Nature willingly sacrificed.

And the origin of the matter requires tracing back to an earlier past, when the otherworldly Divine invasion almost led the entire world to the brink of destruction.

Then, with the solar flare’s descent, after the most tragic "Disaster of the Sun," the two continents, though rged together, rely fused at the most superficial level.

At a deeper level, perilous hidden dangers remained, where the Laws of the two worlds clashed at the intersection, generating a fearso annihilation effect.

Over ti, the Gods gradually perceived the problem—you cannot rge what fundantally differs, even if temporarily blended, change was impossible.

The opposing forces from the two worlds, in their conflict, would spawn a terrifying destructive power that annihilates all Life.

This mutation ultimately reached its peak at the Early Stage of the Era of Faith, with several life-forbidden zones erging worldwide.

Moreover, those zones were rapidly expanding, and it wouldn’t be long before the world faced destruction.

Back then, the Goddess of Prophecy made a dreadful prophecy—if left unchecked, the world would beco a dead zone within a century.

The fusion of powers from the two worlds required ti, the Gods could evade the crisis, but the mortals living in the world were bound not to wait for that mont.

In the mont of crisis, the Master of Nature silently stepped forward.

No rousing declarations, no bargaining conditions, just like an old tree standing firm in a storm.

Faced with the end-of-world crisis, this powerful Divine, destined not to be affected, stood before mortals.

He proactively chopped down His own trunk, divided it into dozens of parts, transforming into several dozens of saplings, cast into all life-forbidden zones of the world.

On that day, mortals witnessed nurous teors streaking across the sky.

Saplings, towing a verdant tail fla as they fell, descended toward each forbidden zone.

Those dreadful forces, though capable of inflicting horrifying damage upon the saplings, could not prevent them from rooting and sprouting.

Each sapling grew out roots, deeply embedding into the Earth, so piercing the magma layer, others extending to the seafloor.

Nurous enormous root systems interlinked, extracting the clashing forces, converting them within themselves, and then feeding them back into the Earth.

This process was akin to filtering poison with a body, painful and slow, each conversion bearing innurable tornts, painfully wearing down their own strength.

The roots would wither, the branches and leaves would wilt, but new parts would imdiately grow.

Yet, the elder of trees spoke no words, silently sacrificing Himself, letting His countless root systems delve into the almost collapsing world, binding and lding the two broken continents together.

The Master of Nature succeeded.

Just like a mother stitching up a child’s torn wound.

After eighty years of excruciating transformation, He successfully averted a crisis that would have destroyed all mortals.

But simultaneously, He paid the price, falling into an "eternal slumber" lasting thousands of years.

His consciousness dispersed among countless saplings, His original form left as an empty shell.

Though to outsiders, the Master of Nature had sacrificed Himself to save the world—though the majority of mortals He saved remain unaware of this.

But in the eyes of the Natural Pantheon, He was rely slumbering.

Because before the Master of Nature completely entered slumber, He left behind a phrase—"Nature, eternal."

Has He fallen?

Or is he slumbering?

Though the Master of Nature’s consciousness has dispersed between heaven and earth, incapable of responding to prayers, no longer manifesting miracles, yet, His original form and the avatars of each sapling remain firmly rooted in this world, mostly revered as Holy Trees, worshiped by people.
