*************************************

I'm standing on an uninhabited terrace a few kiloters from the Solus Temple building where I found Delia, watching as the damned place slowly burns.

The fire probably won't manage to destroy the place completely since it's too big a building.

But at least it will render it unusable.

I'm sure no one has been able to recognize us or follow us in our escape, as I had my perception inhibitor on full power.

Furthermore, most of the people we encountered were more interested in sprinting towards the fire to extinguish it than they were in watching two strangers hurry by on the street.

The rest of the people simply looked at us curiously for a few monts before averting their gaze in another direction.

Delia is behind , still unconscious, leaning against a wall a few ters away from where I am.

She is still naked, covered only by a blanket, as I prefer not to move her body too much until she wakes up, since I am not sure if she still has internal injuries.

Once she wakes up, I will give her back her clothes and objects, which I found among the belongings of one of the disgusting beings that locked her in that cage.

At least most of them.

Blue Wind was not in the possession of any of the three kidnappers.

But I was still able to find her, thanks to the tily confessions of several sinners.

The talking spear was in a vault where there was a small treasure.

The damned wretches of the Solus temple priests have attitudes and practices that seem more typical of pirates, thieves, and murderers than of people who are part of the most important religion in the kingdom.

'Hmm, I believe that the best course of action to ensure they won't pursue Delia again would be to destroy the remaining temples in the capital...

Even if that may take days...

I wish there weren't so many temples...

But I can't let them go on as they are...

Based on what I heard from the first three n I purged, apparently the Solus temple usually eliminates anyone who might pose a threat to their influence...

That being the case...

Haa...

They themselves have sealed their fate by turning Delia into their target...

I should have seen this coming...

It has been several days since the Solus temple people seed very interested in Delia's work...

I was stupid...

I should have been able to avoid this...

Maybe I should have tried to be with Delia and Alessia at each and every mont of the day...

But that wouldn't have been good for them or for , as all people in a couple need to have the possibility to get away from their partner from ti to ti, no matter how much love they have...

Besides, I needed to get stronger quickly...

Sothing I couldn't do if I stayed with them in the clinic, wasting hours and hours of valuable ti...

Nobody knows what plans the Drial Cenit's king would be hatching...

Thanks to the information he probably obtained from Beatrice several days ago...

The spy should not have escaped ...

That was definitely my fault...

Maybe it would be better if we left the capital for a while...

But Delia is very enthusiastic about the clinic...

It would be unfair for her to have to sacrifice her pure dreams for a group of corrupt people...

No...

The ti when I had to be careful not to bother certain people is over; now it's ti for the rest of the people to be careful not to bother or my loved ones...

If I have to burn and destroy each and every one of the buildings of the Solus temple of the capital...

Then so be it...

I don't lik-'

"W-where am I?" suddenly says a raspy, hesitant voice behind , interrupting my musings.

"Delia! You're finally awake. You had worried sick," I say, turning around in a hurry and rushing to my girlfriend's side.

"E-Emir? What are you doing here?! You can't be here, Emir..."

' - Am I dreaming?... It doesn't make sense for Emir to be here... but if he really is here... I... feel so dizzy and weak...'

"... You have to leave. There are very bad people here. I- I'll distract them sohow while you get out of here." Delia babbles awkwardly as she turns her head, unseeing, in the direction where I was only monts ago.

The terror in Delia's voice and mutilated face rekindles the irrational fury I felt only monts ago as I slaughtered the people responsible for hurting my girlfriend.

'The temples in the capital are not enough for the Solus temple to pay for this...I'm going to eliminate each and every stupid temple in the kingdom.'

"Delia, don't worry; you're safe now..." I say, placing a hand on the girl's shoulder, who gasps as she feels the touch of my hand.

'#@@*&%#@ I will eliminate them very slowly... this is unforgivable... They have to suffer while dying.'

' - Thank goodness... then Emir is safe... why is it so hard for to think... I... I... feel so strange'

"... I've taken you out of that disgusting place. You can start he- healing y- yourself now."

The final words I utter are halting, as I suddenly feel nervous about the possibility that even Delia, with her miraculous healing abilities, might not be able to recover from these horrific wounds.

'Her precious eyes... and her ear... can Delia regenerate lost limbs with her abilities?'

But that's a stupid thought.

I know what a Saint's healing abilities can do, at least from stories and legends, and that's why I know Delia shouldn't have any pro-

"I can't. I... I feel strange and... I feel so weak," Delia says, as she clutches at my hand with trembling hands, and panic makes her voice shake.

' - This is so weird... no matter how hard I try, I can't get the spell to heal to appear in my mind... and my body... It's like I'm moving soone else's body instead of mine.'

Panic quickly rubs off on .

'This is my fault... How could I leave her alone?!... I'm an asshole!... no... I have to c- calm down... What's going on here?... Why can't she heal herself?'

Then I was struck by a detail that had escaped my attention until now, due to the relief I felt when I realized that she was still alive.

[Emilia Lvl 32] [Class: None]

Delia still has her na changed to Emilia, as always when she goes to work at the clinic.

But she doesn't have any classes activated.

Emir: !!!

Without wasting a single mont, I start activating again each and every class that Delia should have activated in her status.

As soon as I start doing so, Delia regains a bit of composure and her hands stop shaking.

"Greater healing!" the fox girl suddenly exclaims, and her body is completely enveloped in a blinding golden aura that prevents from seeing her for a few monts.

When I am able to see her again, Delia is perfectly healed.

Her eyes and ears regenerated, as if my girlfriend had never received any wounds.

Even the dried, caked bloodstains in her hair and skin are gone.

'So this is the healing power of a legendary class... It's definitely sothing that can only be described as miraculous.'

' - How lucky I was to et this man... his very presence gives strength... I... until a few monts ago, I was so helpless... How can it be that just being a few re seconds near him gives so much security and confidence? Thank you, God, for having put Emir in my path'

Then Delia throws herself into my arms and hugs tightly, as if she fears that I am going to disappear from one mont to the next.

Her movent causes the blanket wrapped around her body to fall to the floor, leaving her beautiful, naked body completely uncovered.

But in this place it's just her and , so there's no danger of anyone seeing the fox girl's body.

I instantly hug her back, and we stay like that for several minutes, enjoying each other's touch.

But my mind, now that the problems finally seem to have been solved, begins to ponder less important questions.

'Did Delia just use her healing spells without chanting?'

"Delia... How did you do that?" I ask, not letting go, marveling at the peace I feel being in my girlfriend's arms.

"Do what?" she asks in a shaky voice, and I realize she's crying, even though I can't see her face.

"Using Greater Healing without reciting the entire chant," I say, tightening my embrace around her as I begin to give her soft, delicate kisses at the base of her neck and on her right shoulder.

"I don't know... sohow I felt like I didn't need... the entire chant for the magic to work anymore... I guess... it's... all thanks to you," she says between sobs and starts crying harder as she clings to like I'm her only support in the world.

'Don't worry, Delia. I'm going to make sure you don't have to go through this ever again... those damn Solus temple bastards have their days numbered.'

' - I need to control myself! Emir mustn't see crying... After all he has given , the least I can do is try to make him always see with a smile on my face... but his embrace is so warm... and I felt so lonely in that horrible cage... I... I just need a few more minutes to calm down.'

After several minutes, Delia finally calms down a bit and releases to look at my face.

Then her face twitches with concern as she sees practically painted red from all the blood that has been splashed on while performing the purging operation.

"Emir! You're covered in blood!..." she says as she begins to inspect my body with a worried expression.

'I love you, my dearly, lovely, and clueless Delia... How could it be that you rushed to embrace without even seeing ?'

"...Why didn't you tell you were hurt?"

"I'm not hurt. This isn't my blood..." I say, a little nervous about what I'm about to tell her.

'I know Delia is very attached to her religion... but even she has to understand that, this ti, the Solus temple people deserved to be punished, right?'

"... Delia... let's just say I had to forcibly remove you from that place, and I... killed most of the people in that building in the process. I'm sorry."

That's not exactly the truth, but Delia doesn't have to know exactly what happened.

It's better for her to think that I had no choice but to take out those vermin if I wanted to rescue her.

That way she won't have to worry too much about what I did.

However, she's probably going to worry and feel guilty anyway.

' - How weird... I'm sure I should feel sad about those people... I an... surely not all the people in that building were evil... but Emir is the person God sent ... If Emir did those things... surely he was following the will of the Solus God.'

"It's okay... I'm sure what you did was the right thing to do," says Delia, as I watch her frown slightly and hug again, this ti more lightly.

Emir: !!!

'This... I didn't expect this.'
