-Ethan-

I strode into Stark Industries with Olivia by my side, and the lobby hit with that sleek, futuristic vibe. Polished chro glead under soft, recessed lighting, and holographic displays flickered with various corporate logos. It felt like walking into a sci-fi movie, a world away from my dusty apartnt.

"Pretty swanky, right?" I asked Olivia, a grin stretching across my face.

"Indeed," she replied, her eyes scanning the room with an almost imperceptible nod of approval. "Tony Stark certainly has a knack for aesthetics, even if his fiscal policies are sotis… adventurous."

We took the elevator up, a silent ascent that whisked us to the upper floors. When the doors swished open, the hum of machinery and the scent of ozone filled the air. Tony and Peter were huddled over a workbench, a ss of wires, circuit boards, and various tools spread out around them. Peter, ever the ticulous one, was holding up what looked like a half-finished helt, probably a prototype for so new tech. Tony, anwhile, was gesturing wildly with a screwdriver, explaining sothing with his usual animated flair.

"Hey, guys!" I called out, a smile firmly in place. "Hope I'm not interrupting anything important."

Tony glanced up, his eyes imdiately locking onto Olivia. His mouth opened slightly, then closed, a subtle flicker of surprise crossing his face before his usual confident smirk returned.

"Well, well, well," Tony said, his gaze lingering on Olivia for a mont longer than strictly professional. "And who might this dazzling individual be, Ethan? Don't tell you've finally upgraded from just Digimon to actual, you know, people."

Olivia just offered a cool, elegant smile, completely unfazed by Tony's antics.

"Tony, Peter, this is Olivia Adele," I said, stepping forward. "She's my primary backer for DataStream Dynamics."

Tony raised an eyebrow, a playful glint in his eye. "Primary backer, huh? I thought I was being backer enough for you, kid. You know, five percent of Stark Industries? Pretty solid backing, if you ask ."

"You're an investor, Tony," I clarified. "Olivia is helping get things moving on the ground, connecting with research labs and all that. It's a different kind of backing."

Tony nodded slowly, though his eyes narrowed almost imperceptibly as he subtly gestured with his free hand.

[JARVIS: ACCESSING PUBLIC RECORDS. SEARCHING FOR OLIVIA ADELE.]

Huh, I thought, Tony's definitely curious about Olivia. Not that I bla him; she's got that mysterious, 'I know more than I'm letting on' vibe.

Tony's eyes went wide, and his confident smirk vanished, replaced by genuine shock. His gaze flicked from Olivia to a tiny, almost invisible earpiece in his ear.

[JARVIS: DATASTREAM DYNAMICS' PRIMARY BACKER, OLIVIA ADELE. EXTENSIVE HOLDINGS IN REAL ESTATE, TECH STARTUPS, AND GLOBAL COMMODITIES. UNLISTED PHILANTHROPIC VENTURES. ESTIMATED NET WORTH: SIGNIFICANTLY HIGHER THAN PREVIOUSLY TRACKED INDIVIDUALS OPERATING IN THE PRIVATE SECTOR. NO PRIOR PUBLIC FOOTPRINT.]

Tony actually whistled, a low, impressed sound. He looked at Olivia with an entirely new level of respect, almost awe.

"Wow," Tony said, a rare note of genuine surprise in his voice. "I have literally never heard of you, and that's… unsettling. In a good way, mostly."

Olivia simply smiled, a knowing glint in her dark eyes. "I prefer to operate without too much fanfare, Mr. Stark. Efficiency over celebrity, you might say."

Tony extended a hand, his usual swagger replaced by a more formal, almost deferential air. "Tony Stark. A pleasure to finally et you, Ms. Adele. Though I admit, I'm a little miffed my highly intelligent AI didn't red-flag you sooner."

Olivia shook his hand firmly, her grip confident. "The pleasure is all mine, Mr. Stark. And rest assured, I keep my affairs in order." There was a subtle steel in her voice, a quiet authority that clearly established her as his equal, if not his superior, in the world of high finance and influence.

She then turned her gaze to Peter, who had been watching the exchange with wide eyes.

"And you must be Peter," Olivia said, her voice softening slightly. "Ethan has told quite a bit about your brilliance."

Peter, a little flustered, quickly nodded. "It's, uh, Peter Parker, ma'am. It's really nice to et you, too. Your coffee at The Daily Grind is... unique."

I stifled a laugh. Peter, bless his heart, was probably still traumatized by Olivia's "special blend."

"Yeah, well, Peter here is also pretty brilliant," I said, giving Peter a light pat on the shoulder. "And thanks to Olivia's connections, Project EDEN is moving at warp speed."

Olivia gave a slight, satisfied nod. "Dr. Aris and her team at YGD are quite impressed with the blueprint, Ethan. Their simulations confirm its viability."

"YGD, huh?" Tony mused, tapping a finger on his chin. "Yeah, I've heard whispers about them. Smart people, no doubt. Though, if I'd done it myself, I'm sure I could have made it better, faster, stronger. Just saying." He shrugged, a playful smirk returning to his face.

Olivia's smile didn't waver, but her eyes held a calm intensity. "This isn't a competition, Mr. Stark. It's about collaboration, and achieving a shared vision."

Tony held up his hands in a gesture of surrender, though his eyes still sparkled with mischief. "Alright, alright, truce. No need to get all serious, Ms. Adele. Just a little friendly rivalry. Builds character, you know?"

"Speaking of building things," I said, eager to shift the topic, "what exactly are you two working on over here?" I gestured to the workbench, littered with components.

Peter's face lit up. "Oh, we're building the first physical prototype for the EDEN VR headset! It's super early stages, of course, but it's a proof of concept."

Tony picked up a monstrous contraption from the bench. It was a bulky, almost comically oversized helt that looked like a deep-sea diving suit fused with a motorcycle helt. Wires sprouted from every seam, and the visor was a thick, opaque screen.

"Behold!" Tony announced with a flourish. "The future... in its ugly, embryonic stage. This baby covers your entire head, blocks out all external stimuli, and, theoretically, imrses you completely in your digital playground."

He handed it to . The thing had so serious heft, probably weighed a good ten pounds. It slled faintly of solder and new plastic.

"It's... certainly substantial," I said, trying to lift it with one hand and failing. "Looks like sothing out of a bad eighties sci-fi movie."

"Hey, don't knock it until you try it," Tony retorted. "It's functional, kid. That's the important part. It proves the core principles. The sleek, stylish version you're dreaming of is still a few design cycles away, but this clunker gets us there."

Peter nodded eagerly. "Yeah, once we get the power consumption down and miniaturize the components, we can start thinking about the aesthetics. But for now, it's a solid first step."

I hefted the headset, a heavy, clunky beast. "Okay, so this definitely isn't winning any fashion awards," I joked, passing it back to Tony. "I'm thinking more sleek, you know? Like, sothing that doesn't make you look like you're about to deep-sea dive in your living room."

Tony just snorted, taking the headset. "Details, details. We'll get there, kid. First, we prove the concept, then we make it pretty. That's how innovation works."

"I get it," I said, nodding. "Baby steps. This is still, like, a huge leap forward for 2009 technology, so I can't complain too much. It's a promising start."
