My head still throbbed. The Destroyer's beam had clipped , and the Beetlemon armor had already dissipated, leaving feeling small and powerless against Loki and his tal puppet. Loki's smug face was the last thing I wanted to see. Then, a blinding flash of light erupted from Thor's position.
BOOM
The ground shook, sending a jolt through my battered body. I shielded my eyes, but the light was too intense, too bright. It felt like looking directly at the sun, but instead of pain, there was a strange, warm energy. I blinked, trying to clear my vision.
When my eyes adjusted, Thor stood there, no longer the disheveled mortal I'd seen earlier. Gleaming armor, the familiar red cape, and Mjolnir held high. He was back. The God of Thunder. A wave of relief washed over , so strong it almost knocked over.
"Thor!" I heard Sif's voice, a mixture of awe and joy.
The Warriors Three, who had been struggling against the last few Frost Giants, dropped their guard, their faces splitting into wide grins. Relief, pure and unadulterated, rippled through our small group. This was it. The tide had turned.
Thor, his eyes blazing with righteous fury, didn't waste a second. He pointed Mjolnir at Loki, a torrent of lightning already gathering around the hamr. He wasn't just angry; he was livid. I saw the raw, unrestrained power of a god unleashed.
He wasn't just fighting for Asgard anymore. He was fighting for the innocent lives Loki had threatened, for the betrayal he'd felt. Mjolnir sliced through the air, a glowing blue projectile.
CRACK!
It slamd into the Destroyer, which moved to shield Loki. The impact sent a deafening clang echoing across the desert, but the Destroyer held its ground. Loki, ever the cunning one, used the automaton as his personal bodyguard.
Loki, a sly smirk returning to his face, retaliated with Gungnir. A green energy blast shot toward Thor, who deflected it with a swing of Mjolnir. Then, Loki thrust the Casket of Ancient Winters forward.
A wave of freezing cold washed over the battlefield, a biting chill that made my teeth chatter even from a distance. Thor roared, pushing through the icy blast, trying to close the gap. But every ti he lunged, the Destroyer was there, a solid, unyielding wall of enchanted tal.
Their exchange was a spectacle of godly power. Lightning crackled, green energy beams flashed, and icy winds whipped across the desert. But Loki, hidden behind the Destroyer, remained untouched. The automaton was an impenetrable defense, a shield that absorbed every blow Thor threw. It was a stalemate, a frustrating dance of power and cunning.
The Destroyer, a hulking tal beast, deflected Thor's attacks with ease, a silent, unyielding guardian. Loki, safe behind its tallic shell, continued to trade blows with Thor, a wicked grin plastered on his face.
I knew I couldn't just stand here and watch them fight. My Digimon needed to clear the field. Greymon and Garurumon were already moving, their roars cutting through the desert air.
They were true brothers, covering each other's backs.
Greymon, a blur of orange and blue, charged toward a cluster of Frost Giants.
He unleashed a Nova Blast, a torrent of fire that engulfed the ice creatures.
Garurumon, close behind, followed with a Fox Fire, freezing any survivors in their tracks.
They were a perfectly balanced duo, a storm of fire and ice, ensuring no Frost Giant got too close to the civilians or SHIELD agents. MailBirdramon soared overhead, a dark silhouette against the fiery sky. He circled the battlefield, his plasma cannons spitting blue energy at any regrouping Frost Giants.
PEW PEW!
The Frost Giants, already disorganized, scattered further under his relentless aerial assault. Ballistamon, a massive red and blue tank, lumbered into position, creating a defensive line. He slamd his body against a crumbling rock formation, reinforcing it.
CRUNCH!
He emitted a low, rumbling Heavy Speaker tone, the ground vibrating under my feet. It was a clear ssage: no one passes. He shielded the terrified SHIELD agents and civilians, a living wall of tal and good intentions. They were holding the line, giving Thor and room to breathe.
I watched the Destroyer, its tallic body shimring. That flicker, that brief mont before it fired its beam. It was the key. Loki was controlling it through Gungnir. If I could disrupt that connection, even for a second.
It was a long shot, a desperate gamble, but it was all I had.
"Gatomon! BlackGatomon! Distraction!" I yelled, my voice amplified by the Beetlemon armor.
Gatomon, a streak of white fur, launched herself toward Loki, her purple-gloved paws flashing. Lightning Paw, a rapid flurry of precise strikes, aid directly at Loki's face. She wasn't trying to hurt him, just keep him busy.
BlackGatomon, a dark shadow, followed, unleashing a wide Darkness Wave.
It wasn't a focused attack, but a spreading blanket of dark energy that forced Loki to twist and turn, deflecting it with Gungnir. He had to defend himself, even if only for a second. That second was all I needed.
Loki parried Gatomon's lightning-fast jabs with Gungnir, a flicker of annoyance on his face. BlackGatomon's darkness wave forced him to step back, but he recovered quickly, his eyes darting between the two feline Digimon. That was it. That micro-second of distraction, that subtle shift in his focus from Gungnir to his attackers.
I saw the opening.
The Destroyer's visor, usually a steady, orange glow, seed to waver for just a breath, like a pixelated screen glitching. The connection, invisible but palpable, between Gungnir and the Destroyer, it wasn't perfect. It was a thread, not a steel cable.
I channeled everything. The Human Spirit of Thunder coursed through my circuits, turning my body into a living conduit. Electricity sparked across my blue-and-yellow armor, a raw, crackling power. I aid my horn, feeling the surge build, focusing all that chaotic energy into a single, precise point.
This wasn't about brute force. It was about finding the seam, the weakness in his command. It was a digital attack against a magical construct, an elegant hack against an ancient firewall.
"Lightning Blitz!"
A concentrated bolt of pure electrical energy shot from my horn, a blinding spear of blue light. It scread across the desert, a line of intent, direct and unforgiving. The beam slamd into the base of Gungnir, right where Loki's hand gripped it.
CRACKLE!
A violent shockwave erupted from the point of impact, tearing through the air. The Destroyer shuddered, its tallic fra vibrating with an audible hum. I saw the green light of Gungnir flicker wildly, the connection between it and the Destroyer sputtering like a dying circuit.
The Destroyer's movents beca erratic, jerky, like a puppet whose strings had been cut. Its visor flashed red, then orange, then white, a chaotic display of overloaded systems. For a terrifying second, it spun in place, completely uncontrolled.
Then, a blast of raw, untad energy erupted from its visor, a wide, sweeping wave of destructive force. It wasn't aid; it was a pure, desperate discharge, tearing through the sand, scorching the ground.
"Loki, move!" Thor roared, pushing his brother out of the blast's path.
Loki, his face montarily stripped of its smugness, recoiled, a flicker of genuine alarm crossing his features. His control was broken. My attack had worked. The Destroyer, for now, was a runaway train.
My Beetlemon form was still up. I could feel the energy coursing through , the thunder ready to leap from my fists. This wasn't a ga anymore. The Destroyer was a ticking ti bomb.
BOOM!
A massive bolt of lightning, thick as a tree trunk, slamd into the Destroyer's chest plate. Thor. He wasted no ti. The lightning crackled, montarily overriding the machine's systems. The Destroyer's visor glowed a frantic red, flickering like a dying light bulb.
"Now!" I roared, my voice a distorted thunderclap through the Beetlemon armor.
I didn't need to tell Gatomon and BlackGatomon twice. They were already moving, two blurs of white and black against the chaos.
"Lightning Paw!" Gatomon yelled.
CRACK!
She struck the Destroyer's leg joint, a vulnerable point in the armor. It sparked violently, a shower of digital shrapnel flying into the air.
"Corrupted Ring Empowernt!" BlackGatomon shouted, her dark energy amplifying her claws.
SLASH!
She raked across the Destroyer's other leg, gouging deep furrows in the tal. The Destroyer staggered, its movents even more disjointed.
The Warriors Three and Sif were on it too. They didn't hesitate, seeing Thor's fury and my Digimon's combined assault. It was a beautiful, synchronized attack.
Sif, with a fierce cry, drove her sword into the Destroyer's shoulder.
CLANG!
Fandral and Hogun followed, their blades finding purchase in the exposed joints, exploiting the weaknesses my attack had created. Volstagg, with a bellow that shook the desert, slamd his axe into the Destroyer's back, a heavy, crushing blow.
CRUNCH!
The Destroyer groaned, a grinding shriek of tornted tal. Thor, seeing the opening, gathered another massive charge of lightning. He channeled all his rage, all his power, into a single, devastating strike.
"For Asgard!" he bellowed.
ZAP!
The lightning hit. Directly into the Destroyer's head. The force of it was incredible, a blinding white explosion that swallowed the entire automaton.
It happened fast. Too fast. One mont, the Destroyer stood defiant, a tal monstrosity. The next, it was gone.
KA-BOOM!
The sound was deafening, a concussive blast that sent stumbling back. Shrapnel rained down, glowing red-hot. The very air shimred with residual energy, slling of ozone and burnt tal.
Where the Destroyer had stood, only a smoking crater remained. The sand was fused into black glass, still radiating heat. Pieces of twisted, lted tal lay scattered across the desert, no longer gleaming, no longer threatening. Just slag.
Loki stood there, frozen. His mouth hung open, Gungnir forgotten in his hand. His face, usually so composed, was a mask of pure disbelief. I saw a flicker of sothing else there too, sothing that looked like fear. His ultimate weapon, destroyed. Just like that.
