-Ethan-
(A few days later)
I'm spiraling a bit, to be honest. The whole Abyssal Abomination thing still has rattled. Seeing SkullGreymon standing there, all that's left of Greymon after I forced it... it's a ntal image I can't shake. So, yeah, finding a way to get stronger is a bit of an understatent. It's a necessity.
I glance at my stat spread. It's all over the place. I've been dumping points mostly into Agility and Strength, hoping that would make a one-man wrecking crew. Turns out, that's not how this works. I need so balance. And, frankly, I need so better gear. That ans Supply Boxes.
"Alright, then let's rip these boxes open," I say, trying to inject so enthusiasm into my voice. My mind fills with images of god-tier weapons, impenetrable armor, maybe even a way to reliably control Digivolution. A guy can dream, right?
I plop down on the couch in the Digi-Ho, focusing on the Digivice. It's ti to play the lottery. "System, open all Supply Boxes," I say, tapping the screen. Please, no more Gazimon Digi-mories.
The Digivice screen starts scrolling through the rewards.
[Digi-Coin: 20]
[Digi-mory: Gazimon]
"Seriously?" I groan. "Another Gazimon? I'm going to have an army of these things."
[Digi-Coin: 90]
[Digi-mory: Hagurumon]
[Digi-Coin: 120]
[Digi-mory: Goburimon]
…
The list continues, a litany of coins and forgettable Digi-mories. It's like the System is actively mocking . I see the others in the corner of the Digi-Ho. Gatomon is shaking her head, and BlackGatomon is sharpening her claws. I wonder if she is getting tired of just sitting around.
Then, sothing catches my eye.
[Digi-Modify: Seed of Durability (Blue)]
"Okay, that's… sothing," I mutter. At least it's not another Digi-mory I'll never use. A little extra defense could be useful.
…
[Digi-mory: Tsukaimon]
…
I'm about to resign myself to another round of disappointnt when the screen flashes.
[Dual Rayguns - A pair of rayguns that shoot beams. (Purple)]
"Alright! A weapon!" I pump my fist. Finally, sothing that isn't a minor stat boost or a disposable Digimon. Dual Rayguns, huh? I wonder how those work.
But the System isn't done yet. The screen flashes again, this ti with a golden glow.
[Ballistamon - Level Champion has been acquired (Gold)]
"Sweet!" Another Champion-level Digimon to add to the team. I glance at Agumon and Gabumon. Maybe I can get these two to evolve. I'm glad they're finally getting so friends. I'm still working on getting them to evolve.
The screen flashes again.
[Crest of Destiny - A special item has been acquired (Gold)]
My jaw drops. "What? No way!" I exclaim. "A Crest of Destiny? I did not expect this."
Crests… I rember those. From the ani, right? Symbolic trinkets amplifying inner strengths, allowing Digimon to hit those crazy-powerful Ultimate forms. I wouldn't have to rely on that cursed necklace anymore.
[The Crest of Destiny allows two Digimon to reach Ultimate Level,] the System states.
"Huh," I mutter, processing the information. Only two? I had hoped I could find a way to push all my Digimon to the Ultimate stage. Gatomon and BlackGatomon would probably get it.
"I guess I am not complaining."
My attention drifts back to the new Digimon I got, Ballistamon. I got so caught up in the Crest that I almost forgot about him.
"Okay, System, release Ballistamon," I command, a little more enthusiasm creeping into my voice.
With a flash of light, a hulking figure materializes in the middle of the Digi-Ho. Ballistamon stands there, easily seven feet tall, a walking tank made of tal and muscle. Its thick, red and blue armor plates form a near-impenetrable shell, and its tallic arms are massive, ending in grey, armored bracers. Atop its head sits a prominent horn, grey and imposing.
[Ballistamon]
[Level: Champion]
[Type: Machine]
[Attribute: Vaccine]
[Special Move: Horn Breaker, Heavy Speaker]
[A heavyweight Digimon with a thick tal shell and overwhelming power. It appears belligerent at first glance, but Ballistamon's gentle personality favors peace over conflict, and it never attacks of its own accord. Even so, if a fight breaks out it becos a champion of unparalleled power, swinging around its strong arms to eradicate foes. Its heavy armor and incredible power offer high potential for both offense and defense. Ballistamon's forte is unleashing attacks that utilize its power and kill in a single blow if they land. Its massive body is its downfall, however. Slow in mind and body, it does poorly against fast and nimble foes. Heavy Speaker demolishes opponents with low-frequency sounds emitted from the speaker on its chest. This technique hides the power to crush rocks and shake mountains, and only grows as it gets hungry. Furthermore, Ballistamon is proud of the horn on its head—the cornerstone of its close-range attacks—and hates for anyone to touch it carelessly. Its signature move is Horn Breaker, whereby it uses its horn to gallantly throw its opponent.]
"Whoa," I breathe out.
"Hey there, Ballistamon," I say, walking toward the giant. "Welco to the team. I'm Ethan."
"Greetings, Ethan," Ballistamon says, its voice surprisingly gentle for such a massive creature. "I am honored to join your ranks."
"Don't ntion it," I reply, grinning. "We're gonna have a blast."
I turn to the rest of the Digimon, who are watching with varying degrees of curiosity and excitent.
"Alright, everyone," I announce, "this is Ballistamon. Ballistamon, et Gatomon, BlackGatomon, Agumon, Gabumon, Cutemon, and MailBirdramon."
Gatomon nods regally. "Welco to the team, Ballistamon. We could always use so extra muscle."
BlackGatomon smirks. "Just try not to break anything, slowpoke."
Agumon, ever the eager one, bounces forward. "Aweso! Another friend to train with!"
Gabumon, a bit more reserved, offers a shy smile. "It's nice to et you, Ballistamon."
Cutemon, eyes wide with wonder, hops closer. "You're so big, chu~! Are you really strong?"
MailBirdramon, perched on a nearby table, simply lets out a chanical chirp in acknowledgent.
"It is a pleasure to et all of you," Ballistamon replies, bowing slightly. "I look forward to fighting alongside you."
It's actually a pretty heart-warming sight, everyone welcoming the new guy with open arms... or paws, or whatever. It's a nice change from the usual monster-of-the-week chaos.
"You know what?" I say, grinning like an idiot. "I think this calls for a party! We need to properly welco Ballistamon to the team!"
"A party?!" Agumon shouts, practically vibrating with excitent.
"Yeah! Let's celebrate!" BlackGatomon adds, a rare mont of genuine enthusiasm shining in her crimson eyes.
A chorus of cheers erupts, and I can't help but laugh. Ti to get this party started!
