Li Xian observed his body through inner vision, fully digesting the Essence of Heaven and Earth. The rit of the Food Essence Realm was perfected, and signs of the Tai Su Realm had begun to show. Consuming ’Yellow Nine Ginseng’ beca an urgent matter.
After fleeing for several days, he was over a hundred miles from Brocade City. Hidden within the vast sea of people, how could the Luo family of Brocade City find him. With everything seemingly stable, and Wen Caishang, Yihetang Manor, and others yet to find him, it seed unlikely that they could trace his whereabouts.
"With Su Qiuyu, Zhao Zhiyuan, and others pressing so tightly, I have managed to shake them off. While luck played a part, my experience with escaping... I suppose I’m not entirely inexperienced."
Feeling slightly smug, his mind was sowhat at ease. He plotted the consumption of ’Yellow Nine Ginseng’. Recipe·Golden Light: Drink Golden Scale, swallow Nine Ginseng, eat Yellow Dew. For drinking Golden Scale, it must have scales and a tail, embodying the nature of fish in water. To swallow Nine Ginseng, there must be no mixed light...
Li Xian pondered: "If it’s a room rented at an inn, gaps in the doors and windows would inevitably let mixed light in. With people coming and going, interruptions are unavoidable. When swallowing Yellow Nine Ginseng, you mustn’t move or touch mixed light..."
He said, "I need to lease a residence. Only by hiding within a secluded house can I be undisturbed."
By this ti, he had arrived in ’Fanjing City’, located in the northeast of Qiong Heavenly Mansion. In a few days, he could enter Chongling Prefecture. Li Xian marveled at the vastness of the region; even one mansion of Qiong Heavenly Mansion was enough for frequent travels back and forth.
The Aristocratic Families held power by occupying land, monopolizing resources, and the common people endured silently, which was very painful. But as the land was vast and resources abundant, even in chaotic tis, the population density remained high.
Li Xian patted his pouch, calculating the remaining silver. After searching all over his body, he found only "thirty-seven" taels, which was ample for travel and lodging, allowing occasional indulgence in drinking and eating at, and living with flair.
He needed to use this silver to arrange a suitable place for consuming ’Yellow Nine Ginseng’. Wandering around, he found several vacant courtyards that t his requirents. Inside, there were secret rooms, free of mixed light, and quiet and tranquil.
Li Xian thought: "If I could sneak into the secret room of a residence and calmly consu, that would be best." However, even though the courtyards in the city were vacant, they already had owners. People cleaned and patrolled daily, and although Li Xian could easily hide using his Lightweight Skill, being discovered during consumption, when movent was impossible, would be catastrophic.
If he left the city to find a cave for consumption, exploring the mountains and waters, and searching through geomancy, would also consu effort. Moreover, with ’Demons’ rampant, disturbances would be unavoidable.
Consuming ’Essence Treasure’ especially attracts demons. Li Xian selected a residence located in the eastern part of the city, in a very secluded location.
After careful consideration, he realized that ordinary thods would not allow him to use this residence. So he devised an alternative plan, directly heading to the clothing pavilion, using all his remaining money to buy fine clothes, hair ornants, sachets, jade pendants...
It didn’t take long.
Li Xian was rejuvenated. Dressed in silk and satin, he looked elegant and free-spirited, handso and bright, with an ethereal temperant. The hair ornant and red birthmark were uniquely striking; as he stood, people glanced and whispered, and won stared in a daze.
His Pure Yang Body added an extra allure.
Li Xian was very satisfied with his reflection in the mirror: "My deanor truly resembles that of a noble young master." He headed straight for the residence in the eastern city, pausing quietly in front of the vermilion gate. Passersby on the street saw him and whispered. So in tea houses and inns recognized the residence’s owner and sent word.
It wasn’t long before a middle-aged man ran up, clasping his hands, saying, "Young master, are you interested in this house?"
Li Xian nodded and said, "This young master passed by and found the scenery here nice. Go call your master!"
Not long after.
A man in fine clothes, with a large build, approached. His na was ’Tian Fu’, a mber of the ’Tian family’ in this city. This house had been on sale for years; soone would occasionally view it or inquire about the price, but a sale never completed.
Seeing Li Xian, Tian Fu was montarily stunned. With the young master looking indescribably handso and standing tall, how could he underestimate him? He quickly stepped forward, saying, "Young Master, do you want to buy house? There’s a ’Drunken Spring Inn’ nearby, shall we go there to discuss?"
Li Xian said, "No need, let’s talk inside the house." Tian Fu joyfully said, "Sure, sure!" and led the way, opening the vermilion gate.
Tian Fu said, "This residence is warm in winter and cool in sumr, with a large area. Alas, if not for living with my family recently, helping with family affairs, I’d be reluctant to sell."
Li Xian nodded slightly at a large stone he saw. Tian Fu said, "Young Master might not know, this boulder has quite a history, it’s..."
Li Xian said, "How could I not know. This boulder is yellowing on the east, and green on the west. Its texture is smooth, neither jade nor stone. It feels like amber from afar, with a pine resonance up close. This is ’Jade Pine Stone’."
"If I’m not mistaken, your Jade Pine Stone ca from the base of Su Mountain."
Tian Fu exclaid, "How did the Young Master deduce that?" Astonished by Li Xian’s insight, his speech revealed an uncommon background.
Li Xian laughed, "Of the world’s rare stones, none surpass those from Su Mountain. Of the world’s rare pines, none surpass those from Su Mountain. I have an uncle in this trade; how could I not know?"
"Ah!" Tian Fu said, "Young Master... then... what’s your surna?"
Li Xian laughed and shook his head: "I’m here to buy a house, not to discuss family ties. Better to keep it unsaid. If I’m interested, I will buy. Just lead the way."
"Sure! Sure!" Tian Fu felt respectful, observing Li Xian’s deanor, appearance, and temperant—all impeccable, likely from an illustrious background.
The two strolled shoulder to shoulder. Passing each courtyard view, Li Xian spoke knowingly of their symbolic anings, displaying taste and learning. Tian Fu was impressed; though familiar with the landscape’s general intentions, he couldn’t articulate like Li Xian.
They toured for over a quarter-hour, passing through the canal in the courtyard. The channel, about three zhang wide, had fake stones and plants on both sides... imitating Bishui River. Given the chaotic tis, local families felt deeply endangered but also harbored ambitions of seizing power.
