Unlike Iona, who looked sowhat impassive, Vampire, as a Mind Model as well, was much livelier.

However, the personality of this little girl really left sothing to be desired.

At first, Vampire gave Fang Zheng the impression of a mischievous child, but he soon realized she was actually a proud Young Lady. Fang Zheng didn’t mind, though. To be honest, he had seen his fair share of tsundere characters; hadn’t he trained Shana in the World of Shana to be well-behaved?

Oh, co to think of it, this Vampire girl’s voice was quite similar to Shana’s. Could it be that all tsundere loli voices are sowhat alike?

Although the little one had a temper, her abilities were nothing to scoff at. Even though the Dragon Cavalry Class had almost no combat power, it possessed a quite bizarre ability—absorbing the enemy’s power!

Fang Zheng had witnessed the Young Lady boldly charge up to a Sea Mist Light Cruiser, stick her face near, and then activate the Energy Leech to furiously suck away at the target, draining the enemy’s energy completely dry. Throughout this, the Light Cruiser had nearly unleashed all its firepower on Vampire, and yet the Young Lady, relying on the power she absorbed from the enemy, didn’t even have her shields broken... by the ti that poor Light Cruiser had been completely drained of its ability to resist, Fang Zheng, who couldn’t bear to watch any longer, finally dispatched it with a torpedo.

Although Vampire’s ability was strong, it was not enough to face the enemy head-on. Apart from absorbing energy, she had almost no basic weaponry at all, with only a few drones she could use to put up a show. Hence, Fang Zheng’s role for Vampire was to support Iona, to stealthily drain the enemy’s energy while they were busy defending against Iona’s torpedo bombardnt. Luckily, Vampire’s speed was very fitting for this kind of surprise attack role. It was a pity that this was just the beginning. In Fang Zheng’s opinion, Vampire was currently nothing more than a support Fleet Girl. If one were to describe it in team terms, she was akin to a Wizard specialized in applying DEBUFFS, but having only a Wizard and an Archer was definitely not enough. At the very least, they needed a tanky MT as well as a frontline main damage dealer along with a healer to form a five-person squad. That is to say... at least a Battleship and a Heavy Cruiser were needed.

However, it was a pity that, as things stood, this was not an easy task.

Why, you ask...

"I didn’t imagine Sea Mist would band together like this."

Seeing the signals on the radar, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but comnt. According to the radar reading, ahead of them were ten Nagara-class Light Cruisers, along with five Yura Level Light Cruisers, and one Takao Heavy Cruiser. They were clearly forming a patrol formation, evidently wandering around. But...

"Generally speaking, does Sea Mist gather like this, Iona?"

"Rarely."

Hearing Fang Zheng’s question, Iona shook her head.

"Sea Mist usually operates individually. Unless ordered, they almost never assemble."

"An order, huh... Did we hit them too hard before?"

Looking at the screen before him, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but make a snide remark. However, he hadn’t expected that his offhand comnt would unintentionally hit the nail on the head.

Since Fang Zheng’s goal was to rush through the clearance process and then farm map materials, these past few days he’d been vigorously ordering Iona and Vampire to attack every Warship of Sea Mist they encountered. Sea Mist might be brash, but they weren’t fools. Once they detected sothing amiss, they naturally chose to stick together for warmth.

"And that’s clearly an anti-air formation..."

"What should we do, Master?"

Seeing the scene unfold before her, Nymph also furrowed her brows. Previously, their targets were at most a group of five ships. But now, with fifteen warships forming an anti-air grid, this was going to be tricky to deal with.

"How about I use drones to harass them a bit? Those dim-witted fellows will surely go into a frenzy over that!"

At this mont, Vampire chid in, proudly suggesting her plan, but Fang Zheng quickly shook his head in response.

"You only have fifteen drones. How effective they’d be is debatable. But if the drones get sunk... do you think repairs are free?"

Fang Zheng’s reserve of Furniture Coins wasn’t unlimited!

And you, a Destroyer, what’s with those drones?

"No choice, although it’s a bit of a waste, we can only do this now."

With that thought, Fang Zheng gave the command.

"Iona, target the lead ship and initiate an attack, aim to sink it after one round of fire. Our range is much longer than theirs, let’s take advantage of that and kite them! Then we’ll decide on the next battle plan based on how they respond. Vampire, remain on standby, and rember, don’t move unless I give you the order."

"I got it."

Vampire nodded obediently, although sowhat disgruntled.

"Target locked."

"Torpedoes away!"

"—————!"

With Fang Zheng’s command, the Purification-level stealth bomber hidden among the high clouds revealed itself, and in the next mont, dozens of torpedoes whistled out, flying towards the distant target.

"The target is on the move!"

Shortly after the torpedoes were launched, the radar screen showed that the enemy seed to have detected the attack and started to quickly turn around. At the sa ti, a barrage of gunfire shot upwards, and the whistling missiles ford an impenetrable air defense network. Within a few seconds, the screen in front of Fang Zheng showed that two-thirds of the launched torpedoes had been destroyed, and although so hit the enemy directly, they did not cause significant damage.

"Having numbers is indeed power, this is quite troubleso..."

Fang Zheng frowned at the ineffectiveness of his attack. Iona was silent for a mont, quietly observing Fang Zheng sitting beside her.

"Master, what should we do?"

"Load the electromagnetic bombs and launch the torpedoes again, fire them in two salvos with the electromagnetic bomb in between!"

"Understood!"

Following Fang Zheng’s order, Iona quickly loaded for the second round and a new barrage of torpedoes was swiftly launched. Then, four electromagnetic bombs followed closely behind, hidden in the smoke of the torpedo launch, flying towards the distance.

The Sea Mist, having been prepared this ti, was not going to let Fang Zheng’s tactics succeed so easily. Quickly, the second wave of anti-air barrage erupted, confronting the torpedoes. The torpedoes, under such intense defensive fire, were soon reduced to spectacular fireworks that dissipated in the sky.

However, imdiately after, four sinister shadows erged from the smoke of the explosions and continued to charge toward the target. This ti they were lucky, perhaps because the Sea Mist had temporarily run out of ammunition, or maybe because of the previous explosions, the Sea Mist cruisers had not managed to respond in ti. Thus, the bombs roared past and exploded quickly, transforming into several blue rings that spread out in all directions.

"—————!!"

The Warships of Sea Mist enveloped by the blue rings started to tremble, with many protective flashes appearing on their hulls, which then quickly began to weaken. At the sa ti, the second wave of torpedo assault also swiftly arrived!

"Boom!!!"

This ti, the Sea Mist could not rely on their pride, the Klein Field, to help them escape. Under the bombardnt of the erosion torpedoes, the three leading Sea Mist light cruisers exploded instantly, and the remaining ships were greatly ruptured, quickly retreating.

"This is really a hassle."

Seeing that the Warships of Sea Mist were not pursuing as he had expected, but instead started to retreat in an attempt to evacuate, Fang Zheng frowned. He was not like those on the ground, the navy, who probably wished nothing more than for the Sea Mist to retreat. But Fang Zheng had mission objectives—he was waiting to clear the level and farm materials!

If there were an MT to attract firepower, he would have charged straight in.

Now...

"Iona, open fire again."

No way around it, if there’s not enough numbers, firepower will have to make up for it.
