Watching Walnut before them, everyone gaped in surprise, unable to utter a word.
"You, how can you...?"
"Save the chit-chat for later!"
But Walnut had no interest in exchanging pleasantries with the others. She suddenly leaped upward, and at the sa ti, swung down the shovel in her hand forcefully, smashing it once again onto the head of the TANK. This ti, the TANK couldn’t withstand Walnut’s attack and was directly decapitated by the shovel. Its huge body then crashed to the ground, motionless.
"Ugh...ugh...!"
The fall of the TANK also caught the attention of several other Zombie Dogs, which quickly shifted their focus from the small zombies and turned their gaze toward Walnut. However, faced with the stares of these Zombie Dogs, Walnut simply raised her shovel and stood still, watching them.
"Woof! Woof!"
In the next mont, several Zombie Dogs scread and charged at Walnut, leaping from within the crowd and pouncing toward her!
"Walnut! Be careful!"
Watching this scene, the others couldn’t help but shout out; after all, to them, Zombie Dogs were far more dangerous than regular zombies. They were agile, moved swiftly, and had speeds that humans could hardly react to in ti. Even Walnut couldn’t possibly stand against such Zombie Dogs!
However, what happened next left everyone utterly shocked.
Facing the Zombie Dogs that were flying toward her, Walnut’s shovel suddenly whirled around, and then she, holding the shovel’s handle with both hands as if wielding an axe, spun around in place and swung down forcefully toward the front!!
"Whoosh!"
A transparent wave of air burst forth from the shovel, and the Zombie Dogs that reached Walnut howled in pain, instantly being sent flying. They flew a good five ters high, then fell heavily to the ground in a curve. Several of them died on impact as their heads shattered upon landing. Those that didn’t die instantly were unable to move due to broken bones all over their bodies.
Even as they desperately tried to stand up and attack again, aside from weakly opening their mouths to howl, they were wholly unable to do anything else.
"Phew..."
Only when the threat was removed did Walnut finally wipe her forehead, and at that mont, the others rushed over to her, surrounding her imdiately.
"Walnut! Is it really you?"
"Walnut, you’re alive!!"
Looking at the twin-tailed girl before them, everyone showed expressions of joy, and Sakurazawa Shizu and Wakasa Yuri were even on the verge of crying. They rembered all too well when their group was almost surrounded after alerting the zombies, leaving them with no way out. Had it not been for Walnut, who was gravely ill at the ti, drawing the zombies away, they wouldn’t have had a chance to escape alive.
Because of this, they couldn’t forget the sight of Walnut fighting desperately alone to block the horde of zombies, sacrificing herself for everyone. Everyone had thought she had given her life for the group, but none imagined they would see her again here!
"Eh? Walnut?"
At that mont, Yuki Nagayari wearing a cat-eared hat seed to have discovered sothing and looked at Walnut’s eyes in astonishnt.
"Your eyes... why have they turned red?"
"Eh?"
Upon hearing Yuki Nagayari’s question, it was then that everyone noticed Walnut’s deep purple eyes had turned a vivid red. Walnut’s expression shifted slightly, unsure of what to say.
"This..."
Looking at her companions before her, Walnut bit her lip. Although reuniting with them here filled her with joy, just thinking of her current state filled her with worry. What would they think if they knew she had beco a Zombie, only able to survive on human blood?
Would they still treat her the sa as now?
Considering this, Walnut began to feel afraid, but after a brief hesitation, she clenched the shovel tighter, looked at the group, and started to speak.
"Everyone, listen to , actually..."
"Ahhh, run, what are you waiting for, get moving!"
However, before Walnut could finish, her speech was interrupted by a sudden shout. She turned in surprise to look behind her, only to see three zombies sprinting toward her from down the street. Leading them was a black-haired zombie in a black Robe of Cultivation, moving on all fours like a dog, charging forward rapidly, and biting down on sothing in her mouth... a head of golden hair?
Behind the black-haired zombie was another that had lost its head, wearing clothes that were torn and tattered, and another Zombie in a Kimono, holding the hand of the headless one, desperately dragging it along. When the gold-haired Zombie’s head saw the people standing in the road, it also started yelling.
"I said move it, why are you standing there, run, that woman is coming after us!"
"Boom!!"
As if to confirm the words of the blonde zombie, just then, with a loud boom, a house in the distance collapsed suddenly, and a figure shot out from within, rushing toward the group.
"Walnut! These few zombies are good people!"
Sakurazawa Shizu hurriedly grabbed Walnut’s arm as she again tightened her grip on the shovel.
"They saved us just now..."
"I know! Sister Ci, leave it to !"
Hearing Sakurazawa Shizu’s words, Walnut nodded, then she quickly sprinted forward. At that mont, the woman with purple hair had descended from the heavens, her katana’s blade gleaming as she swung it at the back of the fleeing zombie in a kimono!
"You won’t get away with this!"
Simultaneously, Walnut roared and threw her iron shovel with all her might at the purple-haired woman. The shovel whistled through the air like a missile, and in the blink of an eye, it was upon her!
However, the purple-haired woman was quick to react too; she hurriedly retracted her sword to block, deflecting the incoming shovel. The shovel spun through the air several tis before landing back in Walnut’s hands. The two then began to battle back and forth.
"Phew... that was a real scare, who is that girl? She seems quite formidable."
The three battered zombies had since returned to Sakurazawa Shizu and her group. The blonde zombie picked up her head and placed it back on her neck, then curiously began to ask questions while glancing at the little zombie rummaging through the corpse of the zombie dog.
"Hey there, little one, what are you looking for now?"
"I’m looking for my most important thing! Lily’s thing was eaten by these blasted zombie dogs!!"
"Oh, that thing..."
Hearing the little zombie’s teary response, the blonde zombie humd deeply with significance.
"It’s eaten, so what? You’re a zombie now; it’s not like you need it, right?"
"That’s true to say..."
"Enough with the small stuff, let’s hurry and run."
The blonde zombie pulled up the little zombie, who wore an expression full of conflict.
"That woman is an undying creature... Anyway, little girl, you better run too! We’re leaving now!!"
With that, the blonde zombie was about to hastily retreat with the rest.
"Wait, wait a minute!"
Walnut, who had just blocked a strike from the purple-haired woman, was shocked to hear that the blonde zombie and her party planned to leave, and she quickly turned her head and shouted after them.
"Do you know Miss Minamoto Sakura?"
"Huh?"
At Walnut’s ntion of that na, the blonde zombie and her party also hurriedly stopped in their tracks, looking at her in surprise.
"Do you know where they are?"
"Of course! Miss Minamoto Sakura and the rest are with us; they’re also looking for their companions... Ahh!"
Perhaps because she was distracted by the question, Walnut was finally overwheld by an attack from the purple-haired woman; her movents were slightly askew. The purple-haired woman seized the opportunity, pulling back her sword before suddenly swinging it towards Walnut’s neck!
But just as the blade was about to strike Walnut’s neck, a flash of sword light suddenly appeared behind her, precisely striking the purple-haired woman’s sword blade and repelling her attack!
At the sa ti, a voice sounded.
"Really, Miss Walnut, you shouldn’t run off by yourself like that..."
"Sorry, Miss Rea."
Wiping the sweat from her forehead, Walnut quickly moved to the side. Behind her, Rea, dressed in a white dress holding a Western sword, narrowed her eyes and stared intently at the purple-haired woman wielding the katana.
"So this is our enemy... right?"
She then asked.
