In the forest, there was a deathly silence.

"Ugh... this place feels really bad..."

Asuna held her rapier, scanning her surroundings as she advanced along the path. Eiriri stood not far in front of her, vigilantly watching the bushes on both sides and occasionally glancing at the map.

"Don’t worry, at least there shouldn’t be any enemies nearby... But it’s really strange, isn’t the starting map usually ant to get you familiar with small creatures? How have we gone so far without seeing a single one?"

"It’s so dark everywhere, and these hanging branches are really uncomfortable too."

Looking at the branches and leaves overhead, Asuna also sighed. The tree branches in this forest drooped almost to head level, and as they walked forward, they would occasionally brush against branches and leaves. Luckily, this was a ga and not real life, otherwise Asuna would have to go back and take a good bath. Even so, Asuna had already decided that she would take a nice, relaxing bath when they returned...

"Ah, Asuna, wait a mont."

Just then, Gabriel, walking behind Asuna, suddenly called out to stop her.

"You’ve got sothing on you."

As she spoke, Gabriel lazily reached out and took sothing off Asuna.

"Ah, thank you, Gabrie..."

As soon as Asuna heard Gabriel speaking, she hurriedly turned around to thank her, but stopped in her tracks halfway through her sentence.

The next mont, Asuna’s expression turned deathly pale.

Because what she saw in Gabriel’s hand was a furry, palm-sized, struggling...

Spider.

"Eek———!!"

Seeing this, Asuna reflexively wanted to retreat, but Gabriel grabbed her.

"Wait, there are several more."

"Se... several more?!!"

Asuna felt her legs go weak, barely able to stand. She could only stand there dumbfounded like a puppet, watching Gabriel pull out one spider after another from behind her and toss them aside.

"What’s the matter, Asuna?"

At this mont, Eiriri also turned her head, curiously looking at Asuna and asking. Asuna glanced at Eiriri and then her eyes widened in horror—because she saw several furry spiders slowly crawling up and down Eiriri’s back!!

"Eiriri!! Spider!! Spider..."

"Eh?"

Seeing Asuna’s pale face pointing at her, Eiriri instantly stood stiffly on the spot.

"Where? Where is the spider? Help get them off! Hurry up!!"

"Ah, there really are spiders!"

At this point, Yuki also ran over joyfully. Seeing the spiders on Eiriri’s back, she widened her eyes with curiosity and then swiftly advanced.

"Wait a minute, Sister Eiriri, I’ll get them off for you now."

"Hurry, hurry, get them off ...!!"

Eiriri was stiff from head to toe, almost in tears!

Fortunately, Gabriel and Yuki were not afraid of the spiders, and in no ti they cleared the spiders off the two.

"Why do we have to suffer like this...?"

Asuna looked at Gabriel and Yuki with a mournful face—she couldn’t understand why these two had not a single spider on them. But judging by their expressions, they didn’t seem to mind.

"Seriously, where did these spiders co from?"

Though the spiders had been removed and discarded, Eiriri continued to pat her robe as if it had been stained with sothing dirty. As she complained, she instinctively looked up. And there, she froze.

Now paying closer attention, she saw that between these trees were white webs everywhere, with swarming spiders crawling back and forth on them like a colony of ants...

"Ah... ah..."

Eiriri felt weak all over, shaking and chattering her teeth. At that mont, a palm-sized spider swayed twice on a branch before dropping with a "thud" onto Eiriri’s face...

"Aaaahhhhhhh!!!!"

With an ear-piercing scream, Eiriri swatted the spider off her face and ran desperately backward, crashing into Mil at the back of the line and falling to the ground.

"Whoa, what are you doing?"

Carrying her greatsword, Mil was startled by Eiriri’s sudden collision, glaring disapprovingly at her. As Eiriri looked up, she saw several spiders crawling down Mil’s hair and shoulders from the greatsword...

"Spi... spi... sword..."

Eiriri pointed at Mil, unable to articulate her words. She even felt a warm liquid pouring down like a flood between her legs...

"Sword? What’s that?"

Curious, Mil took down the greatsword from her shoulder, and quickly saw the webbing entwined around the blade and the multitude of tiny spiders crawling over it...

"Aaaaahh!!"

With a scream, Mil dropped her longsword and frantically began to brush off her body.

"Where did these spiders co from?! Help!!"

Even more distressing was the fact that with every slap from Mil, more and more spiders cascaded down from her body. Seeing this, Mil panicked even more, flailing her limbs around as if she had lost her mind...

"Miss Mil! Please calm down!"

"No, how are there so many spiders?! Help!!"

"Clack-clack-clack-clack..."

Just as Asuna wanted to step forward to calm them down, suddenly, with a few soft sounds, Asuna saw several massive shadows descending from above, surrounding them—they were enormous spider monsters, each as big as a hippo, with scarlet eyes fixed on their prey, incessantly moving their mouthparts...

Asuna stared blankly at the spiders in front of her, and in the next mont, everything went black, and she fainted.

"...What a hassle."

Gabriel sighed, scratching her head in exasperation, as she looked at the fallen Eiriri, the fainted Asuna, and the frantic Mil.

"Yuki, take care of these creatures, I’ll drag these three back..."

"No problem, leave it to !"

Upon hearing Gabriel, Yuki nodded in agreent, then raised her longsword and charged at the spider monsters.
