"Your weapon, I’ve already finished it,"
Fang Zheng said as he extended his hand, producing a bow.
This bow looked very simple from its appearance, with a pitch-black body, a bowstring, and a basic aiming device; that was all it had. However, for Fang Zheng, manufacturing such a bow was not easy. As for the reason... it was quite simple.
"The material for the bowstring was really hard to find. Fortunately, when dealing with those creatures earlier, I was able to gather enough tendons, and that’s how I barely managed to finish it."
As he spoke, Fang Zheng handed the bow over. Shinong took the bow, reached out, and gently pulled the bowstring.
"The arrows are manufactured separately, with collision piercing damage and recovery capabilities. The range is about one hundred ters. I made five hundred arrows for now. Try them out, and if there are any issues, let know."
Over ti, Fang Zheng had co to understand the strengths of the girls. Shinong had a talent for long-range shooting and honestly speaking, it was a bit wasteful to have her focus on being a lancer. But for safety reasons, Fang Zheng decided against giving Shinong a sniper rifle. For now, it seed that a bow and arrow was a better choice.
"Okay, thank you."
Shinong remained as silent and reserved as ever. Looking at the bow in her hand, she smiled slightly, nodded at Fang Zheng, turned, and left to figure out how to use the weapon on her own.
"Aoba, Seven Seas."
Watching Shinong leave, Fang Zheng called out, and soon saw Aoba pulling along the groggy Seven Seas, who appeared almost as if she were sleepwalking, as they excitedly looked at him.
"These are weapons for the two of you... Hmm, they’re a bit complicated, so be careful."
As he spoke, Fang Zheng took out a One-Handed Sword and a shield. The One-Handed Sword looked more like a perfectly rectangular knife, giving off a chanical and science fiction feel. The shield was similarly composed, made with three layers of different armor, towering at two-thirds the size of a person.
"You’re all quite familiar with single-hand shield attack thods."
Fang Zheng looked at Aoba and Seven Seas and began explaining, and the two nodded along — although the weapons Fang Zheng had brought out looked way cooler and more advanced than before, it was still a sword and shield fighting style that they had always used, so they were naturally acquainted with it.
"But next is what I want to emphasize."
Fang Zheng said as he looked towards the two.
"Watch closely."
As soon as he finished speaking, Fang Zheng suddenly raised the shield, gripped the One-Handed Sword in his right hand, and inserted it into the opening on the shield. Then, with both hands, he grabbed the sword’s hilt and thrust it fiercely towards the ground!
"Crack!!"
With Fang Zheng’s motion, the whole One-Handed Sword embedded itself into the shield. anwhile, the shield unfolded instantly, forming a large barrier over two ters wide and as tall as a person.
"Whoa...!"
Upon seeing this scene, Aoba exclaid in amazent, while Seven Seas also stared in surprise with wide eyes.
"This is the main purpose. In future BOSS battles, or during full-scale AOE attacks, rember to instantly switch to the barrier mode to engage. But in regular battles, I recomnd using the sword and shield form for convenience. In barrier mode, its weight increases and slows down the user’s movent speed... barely faster than a turtle. Practice more, and we’ll experint in the next Lord BOSS battle."
"Thank you, Mr. Fang Zheng!"
Taking the sword and shield from Fang Zheng, Aoba happily pulled Seven Seas aside to practice. These shapeshifting weapons truly were fascinating, attracting even the other guild mbers who had been working on separate tasks to gather around, curiously watching Aoba and Seven Seas continually transform the shield and sword.
Next ca Restia and Asuna’s Rapiers. Fang Zheng, drawing inspiration from the Cane Sword found in Anan Town, added a whip blade mode for split attacks but otherwise made minimal modifications.
As for Leafa, Gabriel, and others, Fang Zheng did not heavily modify their weapons, aside from crafting a firearm for each to use for staggering breaks.
And up next, was the highlight...
"You, you promised ."
Black Cat slowly approached, eagerly looking at Fang Zheng.
"You’ll give a weapon that ets my requirents!"
"Of course."
Hearing Black Cat’s words, Fang Zheng nodded. While giving her a sword and shield was also a good choice, he had already promised her a decent weapon, so naturally, it couldn’t be a sword and shield. Furthermore, Fang Zheng valued Black Cat for her speed and quick reflexes, so he wouldn’t pick a sword and shield that might slow her down.
eting Black Cat’s expectant gaze, Fang Zheng extended his hand and took out from the inventory...
"An umbrella?"
Looking at the pitch-black umbrella in front of her, Black Cat was slightly stunned.
The pitch-black umbrella had ornate lace trimmings and so quite pretty patterns. To be fair, it matched Black Cat’s taste well... but how was it supposed to be used in battle?
"It looks like an umbrella on the outside, but actually..."
Seeing Black Cat’s dumbfounded expression, Fang Zheng smiled smugly. He originally intended to make a joke about how "you think this is a razor, but actually, it’s a hairdryer," but knowing Black Cat probably wouldn’t get it, he wisely abandoned the idea.
"It’s a Long Spear."
As he spoke, Fang Zheng held the handle of the weapon, pressed on it lightly, and in the next instant, Black Cat saw the umbrella’s handle suddenly extend, turning into a Long Spear. Then Fang Zheng swiftly adjusted his wrist, retracting the spear. He pressed another button, causing the umbrella to "pop" open, transforming into a shield.
"You can call it a spear-shield, or umbrella-shield. In open mode, it acts like a shield. In closed mode, it’s a Long Spear. And there’s more..."
As he spoke, Fang Zheng took out a rectangular box from the inventory, installed it onto the umbrella’s body, and pulled it hard before pulling the trigger.
"Bang!!"
With an ear-splitting gunshot, the stone slab before Fang Zheng was imdiately shattered with a hole.
"Effective range is twenty ters, perfect for interrupting attacks, usable in both Long Spear and umbrella modes. But it only has eight bullets, so rember to reload frequently."
As Fang Zheng spoke, he returned the umbrella to its original form and handed it over.
"How is it? Does this weapon et your requirents?"
"Absolutely!!"
At this point, Black Cat was fixated on the umbrella in Fang Zheng’s hand, practically drooling. It perfectly matched her needs; imagine her in a pitch-black Gothic dress, ard with a pitch-black umbrella, elegantly navigating through creatures... exhibiting her refined and graceful deanor...
"I can feel the Power of the Soul resonating from it!"
Black Cat snatched the umbrella from Fang Zheng, caressed it while closing her eyes in bliss.
"Yes, this is the feeling. This power, a part I had once forsaken in a past life, is now back to my side. This ti, we will beco one again! I will regain my true form...!"
With that said, Black Cat opened her eyes and looked at Fang Zheng.
"I promise you, I’ll show you the true power of the Fallen Angel Black Cat."
".........."
Watching Black Cat clutch the umbrella and striking a pose, Fang Zheng opened his mouth slightly, then let out a light sigh.
"I look forward to it..."
Oh well, as long as you’re happy.
