"Why are you in such deep thought?"
Lucia's voice pulled Max back from the depths of his contemplation. She had been observing him closely, and the sudden shift in his deanor had not escaped her notice.
Monts ago he had been asking questions with calm curiosity, but now his expression had turned solemn, his eyes distant as if he were piecing together fragnts of a much larger puzzle.
Max blinked once and allowed the intensity in his gaze to fade. The thoughts regarding Imperial Bloodline, incompleteness, and evolution settled quietly at the back of his mind. This was neither the place nor the ti to reveal even a fraction of what had just taken shape within him.
He let out a faint breath and curved his lips into a light smile.
"I was just wondering," he said evenly, his tone relaxed as though nothing significant had crossed his mind, "you ntioned two disciples who could break records. I am curious who the second one is."
Lucia studied him for a mont longer, her sharp eyes lingering on his face as if trying to detect any hidden aning behind his calm deanor.
There was a subtle awareness in her expression. She knew Max was not soone who drifted into silence without reason. Yet his response was smooth, and there was no visible tension in his posture.
The golden light from the central path reflected faintly in his eyes, giving him an almost tranquil appearance. However, beneath that calm exterior, his thoughts remained active, carefully asuring every word and every reaction.
If the Saintess in training was the first, then the second must be soone equally extraordinary.
Max's curiosity was genuine. The Path to Eternal Flas radiated an aura that felt both ancient and violent. If records were truly going to be broken, then whoever achieved such a feat would have to possess either an overwhelming affinity with flas or an unparalleled level of endurance.
Lucia's lips curved slightly, clearly pleased that he had redirected the conversation.
"So you are finally interested," she said lightly.
Max's smile remained steady, though his gaze sharpened just enough to reveal that he was listening carefully.
Whether it was the Saintess, another genius of the Seven Families, or soone hidden among the disciples of the Thirty Six Halls, he intended to understand the landscape of power before stepping onto that golden path.
Because if records were ant to be broken today, he did not intend to be a re spectator.
"Well, the second one is the one with the highest chance of breaking the records in the next two trials," Lucia said with a confident smile, her tone carrying certainty rather than speculation.
"Highest chance? Higher than the Saintess in training?" Max asked, genuine surprise slipping into his voice despite his usual restraint. If Isabella carried the Imperial Bloodline, which was regarded as the pinnacle of the Black Dragon lineage, then the idea that soone could currently surpass her in raw performance seed almost contradictory.
Lucia nodded without hesitation. "Yes. At least for now."
Her gaze shifted toward another section of the do, where a tall young man stood among a small group of disciples. His posture was straight, his expression calm, yet there was an unmistakable dominance in the way others subtly maintained distance from him.
"This second disciple is Zain Heron," Lucia continued. "He is a direct descendant of the Heron Family and currently the strongest outer disciple across all Thirty Six Halls combined."
Max's eyes settled on the figure she indicated. Even from a distance, he could sense a density in Zain's aura that was far from ordinary. It was not rely powerful. It was refined and controlled, like a blazing furnace contained within an iron shell.
"What makes him so special," Lucia went on, "is that he was born with a divine physique known as the Blazing Dragon Sovereign Body."
The na itself carried weight.
"The Blazing Dragon Sovereign Body is an extrely rare constitution that possesses a natural affinity with fla and draconic energy. From birth, his body was perfectly attuned to absorbing and circulating fire based energies. When his Black Dragon Chaotic Bloodline awakened, which in his case is a Source Bloodline, the two did not rely coexist. They resonated."
Lucia's voice lowered slightly, her expression growing serious.
"That resonance amplified both sides. His divine physique strengthened the Source Bloodline, and in turn the bloodline further enhanced his physique. Because of this synergy, his Source Bloodline has beco one of the strongest among all those who possess it within the Black Dragon Clan. It is almost as if the Blazing Dragon Sovereign Body was designed to be the perfect vessel for the Black Dragon Chaotic Bloodline."
Max listened carefully, analyzing every word.
Lucia continued, "All abilities that stem from the Source Bloodline are magnified in his case. His control over black flas is frighteningly precise. He can manipulate flas down to a microscopic scale, altering their density and intensity with ease. When he performs Dragon Transformation, the shift in his aura feels seamless, almost natural, as though he is not transforming but rely revealing his true form. Among those with the Source Bloodline, his black flas are considered the most lethal, second only to so of the elder generation."
Max observed Zain once more, this ti with deeper scrutiny.
Lucia added, "Isabella has the potential to surpass him, but she is still only a Saintess in training. Her Imperial Bloodline has not fully awakened yet. The Imperial Bloodline carries unimaginable authority once complete, but until that awakening occurs, its power remains partially dormant."
She glanced back at Max.
"Only when her Imperial Bloodline fully manifests will she have the ability to exceed Zain Heron. And when that happens, the gap will not be small. It will be overwhelming. However, as things stand now, Zain Heron is stronger."
Max's thoughts grew more layered.
On one side stood Isabella Lumin, bearer of the Imperial Bloodline, a symbol of future prosperity whose true strength had yet to unfold. On the other stood Zain Heron, a genius whose divine physique and perfected Source Bloodline had already reached a formidable level.
If Lucia was correct, then the Path to Eternal Flas would likely beco a battlefield not of open combat, but of silent competition. The records etched within the history of the Black Dragon Palace would either remain untouched or be rewritten today.
Max's gaze lingered briefly on the golden path once more.
The heat radiating from it felt almost eager, as though awaiting soone worthy.
Whether it would be Isabella, Zain, or soone else entirely remained to be seen.
But one thing was certain.
This trial would not be ordinary.
