Seeing the golden swords raining down toward him, Max's Dinsional Sovereign Body locked in completely.
The mont the storm of radiant blades began to descend, his perception sharpened to an extraordinary degree. Every fluctuation of energy in the air, every shift in the trajectory of the swords, and every ripple of pressure spreading through the arena beca perfectly clear in his senses.
The world around him seed to slow as his mind analyzed the countless weapons rushing toward him.
For a brief mont, the sight of the golden swords filling the sky reminded him of one of his own abilities.
There had once been a skill that allowed him to summon hundreds of glowing blue swords that could rain down upon his enemies with destructive force. At its peak that skill had been considered a legendary rank skill at level one hundred within the mortal realm. It had been a powerful ability capable of dominating battles among mortal cultivators.
Yet here in the Divine Realm that technique had beco aningless.
The skills he had obtained in the mortal realm had been forged under completely different laws of power. No matter how impressive those abilities had once been, they were now insignificant when compared to the terrifying strength that existed within the Divine Realm. The gap between the two realms was simply too vast.
A skill that once stood at the pinnacle of mortal cultivation could not even be considered relevant here.
However Max did not feel any regret about that.
He possessed far greater abilities now.
Black flas suddenly erupted around him.
The dark fire burst outward from the center of his body like a rising tide of destruction. The flas surged violently into the air and spread across the battlefield with terrifying intensity. The amount of black flas Max released was imnse, enough to darken the golden light descending from above.
The flas quickly gathered together.
Within monts the raging black fire began to condense into a massive shape.
A colossal Black Tortoise Divine Beast ford from the swirling black flas. Its enormous body appeared solid and majestic as the dark fire shaped its thick shell and powerful limbs. The beast stood firmly around Max, enclosing him within its protective form.
This was the inheritance technique known as the Four Divine Beasts Manifestations.
Among the manifestations of that inheritance, the Black Tortoise represented absolute defense.
Max stood calmly at the center of the divine beast while the massive flaming shell surrounded him like an impenetrable fortress.
At that mont the golden swords finally arrived.
They crashed downward in a storm of radiant destruction.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The impact of the blades striking the black tortoise resounded throughout the arena as shockwaves spread in every direction. Each golden sword carried imnse power, yet the mont they struck the flaming shell they failed to penetrate its defense.
So of the swords were deflected away by the imnse strength of the tortoise's shell.
Others were swallowed by the black flas themselves the mont they entered the range of the divine beast.
The raging fire devoured the energy of the golden swords and reduced them to fading fragnts of light.
No matter how many blades descended from the sky, not a single one managed to break through the defense of the Black Tortoise Divine Beast ford from Max's black flas.
However, just when the golden swords had fallen and were all blocked by the Black Tortoise Divine Beast, Max suddenly sensed sothing different.
Through the perception of his Dinsional Sovereign Body, a streak of power appeared in the distance. It was not like the golden swords that had rained down from above. This presence was concentrated, sharp, and far more dangerous.
A beam of golden light was rushing toward him.
The streak of light cut through the battlefield with terrifying speed. It moved so fast that even the surrounding space trembled violently as it passed through the air. The golden radiance tore forward like a divine spear aid directly at Max's position.
'This attack is too powerful,' Max realized instantly.
The pressure carried by the beam was far greater than the golden swords that had descended earlier. The mont his senses locked onto the attack, Max understood the terrifying destructive force hidden within it.
At that mont a thought flashed through his mind.
He rembered that his mother had been holding a bow.
'So this is an attack from her bow,' he concluded imdiately.
There was no ti to hesitate.
Max activated the Four Divine Beasts Manifestation inheritance technique once again. This ti he did not manifest another divine beast. Instead the black flas surrounding him condensed rapidly into a different form.
A massive sword ford from raging black flas appeared beside the Black Tortoise Divine Beast.
The enormous blade radiated terrifying heat and destructive power. It remained anchored beside the tortoise's flaming shell as though the defensive beast had beco the foundation of a powerful weapon.
The golden beam continued rushing forward with unstoppable montum.
Seeing the attack closing in, Max controlled the giant black sword ford from his flas. The weapon rose into the air and then swung downward toward the incoming beam of light.
The mont the two forces collided, the entire battlefield exploded.
BOOM!
A cataclysmic explosion erupted where the golden beam t the descending black sword. Black flas and golden light crashed into each other violently as the impact released a devastating shockwave that spread across the arena. The ground shattered beneath the pressure while the surrounding air trembled under the clash of the two opposing powers.
For several monts the explosion raged like a storm of destruction. Golden light and black flas twisted together as the energy surged outward before slowly beginning to fade.
When the violent radiance finally began to die down, the battlefield gradually beca visible again.
At the center of the fading explosion stood Max.
Yet he was no longer alone.
His mother had appeared beside him.
Her body was now covered in armor ford from brilliant golden light that shone with sacred brilliance. The armor fit her figure perfectly and radiated the authority of her Heavenly Luminance Sacred Bloodline. In her hand she held a sword made entirely of the sa golden radiance.
The blade was already pressed between Max's two hands.
The tip of the golden sword had slipped through the narrow space between his palms and stopped just before his chest, its edge gleaming dangerously close to his heart.
