Max's eyes widened in disbelief as he watched Arthur stand again after he had literally killed him by splitting his body in two. What surprised him even more was the intense intent he could feel emanating from Arthur. It was so overwhelming that Max felt as though the pressure was enough to make him kneel.
However, for so reason, that sensation was almost negligible for him. Max knew it was only because of his Three Dinsional Body skill, which allowed him to see that almost every genius present had either knelt or stumbled to the ground under the pressure of the black light.
Only a few, like Alia, Revenna, Crown Prince Aelric, Veylin, Five, and Asha, seed able to hold their ground against the pressure from the beam of light, but their conditions were dire. They could collapse at any mont from the strain.
"Max, it's a Level 1 Concept! You must dodge the next attack!" An urgent female voice reached Max's ears.
"Who?" Max glanced around, noticing that everyone else was struggling on their pillars while Asha and Mad Sword stood firm, like Alia.
Shaking away his distracting thoughts, Max focused on Arthur, his expression solemn. "Did he just use another one of his abilities to falsely break through from Level 3 Aura to Level 1 Concept of Mist?" he muttered, feeling it was the most likely scenario. He gripped his black sword tightly, preparing for an attack.
"Hahaha, Max, I have to thank you again for letting experience a concept through my own body." Arthur laughed wildly. "However, I can't enjoy this mont for long, as this form of the Level 1 Concept of Mist will only last for one minute."
His expression twisted into sothing cruel. "One strike will be enough, but until then, struggle to stand before ."
Max glanced at Arthur and the energy reaching the roof. 'He still doesn't have full control over the Level 1 Concept,' he mused, preparing for his own attack.
The Montum Sword consisted of three moves: Fast Montum Sword, Drag Sword, and Horizon Split. Max had trained all of them for days in the Dinsion of Ti, but had only mastered the Perfection Stage of the Fast Montum Sword. The other two he had only reached the expert level.
'This mont is all I have to master the Horizon Split… One chance, one mont…' The pressure on Max's shoulders grew as he gripped his sword tightly. The pressure wasn't from Arthur's boiling energy, but from the re seconds he had before Arthur unleashed his next attack.
Closing his eyes, he recalled what the Horizon Split was all about.
'The Horizon Split… It combines the relentless speed of the Fast Montum Sword with the devastating power of the Drag Sword. Two forces, one technique—a union of pure destruction and uncatchable swiftness.'
His heartbeat slowed, each thump reverberating in his ears like a drum heralding the birth of sothing extraordinary. Slowly, he raised his sword, holding it at a 45-degree angle, as if the blade itself was an extension of his will. His montum began to rise, rippling outward in waves that resonated through the stage.
Max's eyes remained closed, but his mind's eye visualized every detail: the rapid execution of the Fast Montum Sword, the concentrated ferocity of the Drag Sword. He saw the rging of the two techniques, their energies intertwining, spiraling, and condensing into a single, unstoppable strike.
'The speed to cross the horizon in an instant… The force to shatter it completely… This is the Horizon Split.'
The sword in his hand pulsed with energy, its edge glowing faintly with an ethereal light that flickered between blue and crimson—a perfect balance between swiftness and destruction. His surroundings fell silent, as if the world itself was holding its breath in anticipation.
In that mont, he quietly added the full power of his Fusion State, bringing it up to 20%, causing his calm sword to vibrate slightly.
Finally, Max opened his eyes. They glead with clarity and purpose, a reflection of his mastery in that fleeting mont. His voice was calm, steady, and resolute as he declared, "Horizon Split."
What followed was a symphony born of a single sword slash—a mont so precise and absolute that it defied comprehension.
Max's figure blurred, vanishing from his original position, only to reappear behind Arthur in an instant. The stillness that followed was deafening, as though the world itself was processing the outco of his strike.
Above, the black pillar of light that had been raging monts before flickered and faded, dissipating into the void. The oppressive aura that had filled the air faded with it, leaving only silence.
Arthur's figure remained frozen for a fleeting mont, a faint shimr tracing along his body where Max's blade had passed. Then, almost instantly, his form split in two, the halves separating cleanly with no resistance. But it didn't stop there.
The two halves of Arthur's body began to fragnt further, disintegrating into countless pieces. Each fragnt shimred faintly before dissolving into red particles of light, scattering into the air like fleeting embers.
Within seconds, Arthur's presence was completely erased, leaving behind no trace of his existence—only the haunting echoes of his defeat.
Max stood motionless, his sword hanging at his side, the faint glow of his Horizon Split fading from its edge. His breathing was steady, his expression calm, as though what he had just accomplished had been inevitable.
The battle realm seed to hold its breath, the gathered geniuses unable to process the sheer dominance they had just witnessed.
"He—he killed Arthur again!" Bruce muttered in shock, his hand trembling as he pointed at Max, as if he were pointing not at a human, but at so savage monster. He was that stunned by what he had just seen.
After Crown Prince Aelric's words echoed across the battlefield, the weight of his insight settled heavily upon the gathered geniuses. Arthur's sudden surge of power made sense now.
He had utilized his class to forcefully break through the shackles of a Level 3 Aura, stepping into the rarefied realm of concepts. The imnse pressure they had felt monts ago was undeniable proof—Arthur had awakened the Level 1 Concept of Mist.
The revelation left everyone awestruck. A concept, even at its most basic level, was a monuntal milestone that could tilt the balance in any battle. Combining it with Arthur's overwhelming presence had made it clear to them: Max was standing against an insurmountable force.
Many silently concluded that the fight was over, and Arthur's victory was all but certain. Discover hidden tales at My Virtual Library Empire
