'To lose to soone as weak as Max? You aren't even qualified to be called trash.'

A cold chill ran down Veylin's spine.

His breath hitched, and for the first ti in his life, he felt sothing far worse than fear—uncertainty.

His fingers clenched tighter around his spear, his mind racing.

'Who?! Who are you?!'

He demanded an answer, but as the words left his thoughts, he felt an unexplainable coldness creep into his soul—a suffocating weight pressing down on his very existence.

And then, it hit him.

The voice was familiar.

Too familiar.

Because it was his own.

Just… distorted.

Twisted.

Dark and eerie, as if spoken by a version of himself that had crawled out from the depths of sothing sinister.

'Who am I?'

The voice sneered, sending an unsettling chill through Veylin's thoughts.

'I am you. Just… slightly better than you in every way.'

A dark chuckle followed.

'And slightly more ruthless, if I may.'

Veylin's brows furrowed, his grip on his spear unsteady.

'What do you want? How did you get inside my mind?'

His tone was sharp, laced with suspicion.

He did not like sharing his mind with anyone.

Let alone with sothing like this.

'What do I want?'

The voice laughed softly, the sound a mixture of mockery and malice.

'I want despair.'

The next words sent an inexplicable shiver down Veylin's spine.

'Despair so deep that will make you suffocate… Despair that will drag you into the sea of darkness… so that I can be born.'

Veylin's heart pounded.

This wasn't normal.

This wasn't his voice.

It was him, but at the sa ti, it wasn't.

'And as for how I got inside?'

The voice chuckled once more, low and sinister.

'Hehe… well, you'll find out soon enough.'

"What? Are you scared or what?" Max's voice snapped Veylin back to reality.

His mind had wandered—drowned in hatred, regret, and frustration—but those words yanked him back like a chain around his throat.

His eyes locked onto Max's face. That damn confident smile.

It burned him.

Veylin's grip tightened into a fist. Hatred. Deep-seated and festering. Every fiber of his being wanted to erase Max from existence.

But—

He forced himself to take a slow breath, pushing aside his raging emotions.

This mont—this fight—was his only chance against Max.

If he let his anger distract him… if he allowed his hatred to cloud his judgnt…

Then this battle was as good as lost.

And Veylin never intended to lose.

His fingers relaxed. His heart steadied.

'This technique… the one my father bestowed upon … it will bring victory.'

Veylin's confidence did not waver. His belief in his father's technique was absolute.

With his mind now fully calm and focused, he turned his gaze toward Max, studying him for a mont before speaking.

"You are strong. Truly strong."

His voice carried no mockery—only acknowledgnt.

"At first, I doubted Alia's decision to surrender. I couldn't believe soone like her would admit defeat so easily. But now, standing before you, I understand."

His eyes sharpened, his posture straightening with unwavering resolve.

"However, I am not like her."

His tone grew firr, laced with the weight of his unshakable will.

"I have never been defeated. Not once. I have never tasted the bitterness of loss, and I intend to keep it that way."

The air around him seed to thicken, his presence growing heavier.

"Simply put, I don't like losing."

His lips curled into a smirk, his crimson eyes burning with intent.

"And I never will."

With those words, Veylin's arms began to transform. The once-solid lightning gauntlets that adorned his hands shifted, their structure warping and reshaping. His fingers elongated, sharpening into razor-like claws, crackling with barely-contained lightning.

Then, without hesitation, he plunged both claws into the ground, his eyes glowing with an eerie brilliance.

"Lightning Dragon Seal, First Seal—Unlocked!"

His voice was low, steady, almost a whisper—but the mont those words left his lips, the air itself crackled with ominous energy.

Every bolt of lightning that once coursed through his body began to crawl downward, snaking its way toward his arms. Sparks danced violently across his skin before plunging into the earth, vanishing into the depths of the battlefield.

Max's eyes narrowed.

He could feel it—sothing beneath them had changed.

Then—

The ground trembled.

It started as a small vibration beneath his feet, but within monts, it beca a full-blown quake, shaking the entire stage.

Max took a slight step back, his eyes scanning his surroundings, trying to predict Veylin's next move.

Then—

BOOM!

The ground between them collapsed, large chunks of stone and debris falling inward as sothing massive rose from the depths below.

Max's eyes widened in disbelief as a colossal dragon-like being erged from the earth.

A Lightning Dragon.

Its massive body, composed entirely of the soil and rock beneath the battlefield, towered over them. Cracks of lightning ran along its form, tracing its entire body like veins of pure energy.

The mont it fully erged—

"ROOOAAARRRR!!!"

A deafening roar shook the battlefield, sending out a violent shockwave. The sheer pressure of its presence distorted the air, the force behind its cry alone enough to rattle even the strongest warriors.

Then, as if sensing Veylin's hatred, the dragon's eyes glowed red.

It didn't hesitate.

It locked onto Max.

With a violent lunge, the Lightning Dragon charged toward him, the air around it boiling with energy, its entire form sparking with unrestrained destruction.

Max didn't flinch.

He didn't step back.

Instead, he smiled.

The colossal Lightning Dragon stord toward him, its massive body radiating raw destruction, but Max stood his ground.

With his sword blazing, its edge coated in the devastating force of Fusion State 20%, Max channeled everything—Level 2 Lightning Aura surged, crackling violently along his blade. Level 1 Space Aura shimred, distorting the air around it. 15 Draconic Essences fueled his strike, condensing his raw strength into a single point.

The battlefield trembled beneath him.

Max swung his sword forward—

"Divergent Slash!"

A wild, untad arc of energy erupted from his blade, cutting through the air like a celestial strike.

It wasn't just light—it was an unrelenting force of chaos, a mixture of lightning's speed, space's distortion, and draconic might, all infused into a single devastating attack composed of Sword and Fla Auras rged together.

The arc of destruction tore toward the incoming Lightning Dragon, illuminating the battlefield in a blinding flash.
