Kaiden drew a slow breath and lowered his hands.
"I surrender."
The arena went silent once more. Angelina Valerius regarded Kaiden for a breath, and then she announced calmly, "Kaiden Voidmere has surrendered."
[Winner: Max Morgan.]
[Kaiden Voidmere Defeated.]
The screen above the stage updated.
[Battle Record Updated.]
[Max Morgan]
[Total Battles Fought: 18]
[Total Wins: 18]
[Battle Record Updated.]
[Kaiden Voidmere]
[Total Battles Fought: 18]
[Total Wins: 17]
The result shone above the arena. Kaiden Voidmere, the supreme genius of the Grand Void Sanctum, had lost. He had not lost because he was weak, nor because his Void Genesis Art was flawed.
He had lost because Max Morgan’s mastery stood higher, and because Max’s body rendered space itself nearly incapable of harming him.
At the Black Dragon Clan, the disciples erupted into wild cheers yet again. At the Grand Void Sanctum, the atmosphere stayed silent and plicated. Some disciples looked unwilling to accept it, but the elders said nothing at all.
They had seen the truth with perfect clarity. Kaiden had not surrendered out of cowardice. He had surrendered because he understood the gap more deeply than anyone watching from outside.
Inside the Eternal Hourglass, Kaiden stood across from Max and bowed his head slightly. It was not the bow of a defeated man surrendering his dignity. It was the acknowledgment of someone who had glimpsed a higher level of his own path.
"Junior brother," Kaiden said softly, "walk far."
Max looked at him and nodded. "I will."
The transfer light descended and carried Kaiden back to his pillar, and Max returned to his own a moment later.
The other participants watched him in silence. He had defeated Rakan in a contest of body strength, and he had forced Selene to surrender without ever fighting. Now he had defeated Kaiden Voidmere on the path of space itself.
After Max defeated Kaiden Voidmere, the atmosphere of the final petitive stage grew even heavier. Another undefeated name had fallen.
Kaiden’s defeat felt different from Rakan’s, different from Orion’s, and different from the loss Aurelian had suffered at Damian’s hands. He had not been overwhelmed by raw force, cut down by sword authority, or exhausted by a countering Pseudo Cosmic Path. He had lost on the very path he took the most pride in.
The Void Genesis Art had been matched against the Void Genesis Art, and Max had displayed higher mastery and deeper authority. On top of that, his body had rendered spatial attacks nearly meaningless.
The Grand Void Sanctum fell into thoughtful silence, while the Black Dragon Clan erupted yet again.
Inside the Eternal Hourglass, Max returned to his pillar calmly, and Kaiden sat down with a faint smile resting on his face. His loss had not crushed him. Instead, it seemed to have answered a question he had carried in his heart, and after acknowledging Max as someone chosen by the same master, his expression had grown much lighter than before.
Angelina Valerius waited until the screen finished updating the records, and then she raised her hand once more.
"The next battle will now begin."
The giant screen above the arena began to rotate. At this stage of the tournament, every single name carried weight. Most participants had already fought eighteen or nineteen battles. The weaker among them had long dropped out of the upper race, while the true monsters kept carving out their positions through victories and rare defeats.
One loss could reshape the top five, and one major victory could restore a damaged reputation. A single bad matchup could ruin everything.
The names flashed past, among them Max Morgan, Damian Voss, Revona, Ervin, Aurelian Lareth, Rakan Thorne, Orion Starfall, Morgana Starveil, Rosaline Lunara, and Kaiden Voidmere.
The light slowed, and the first name stopped.
[Rakan Thorne]
Across the Divine Realm, the War God Palace disciples snapped to attention at once. Rakan had already suffered one crushing defeat against Max, but since then he had won battle after battle with fierce dominance.
He remained one of the strongest body cultivators in the conference, and most participants below the absolute peak still could not withstand even his First or Second Limit. His record remained excellent, and his fighting spirit had not dimmed in the least.
The second name kept spinning and then slowed further. Aurelian Lareth’s golden eyes narrowed.
The name stopped.
[Aurelian Lareth]
The screen enlarged both names.
[Final petitive Stage]
[Rakan Thorne vs Aurelian Lareth]
The arena erupted immediately, for this was another major battle. Rakan Thorne, the first Warlord of the War God Palace, would face Aurelian Lareth, the Divine Son of the second elven faction. One of them represented the extreme of physical body cultivation and close bat war power.
The other represented divine light, royal bloodline authority, and long-range Heavenly Luminance suppression. Both men had already lost to someone at the peak, yet both remained terrifying enough to dominate nearly everyone beneath that level.
On his pillar, Rakan cracked his neck and grinned. "So I finally get the shining prince."
Aurelian looked at him coldly. "You should worry less about my title and more about whether your fists can reach me."
Rakan’s grin widened. "If they reach you once, you will understand why people respect the War God Palace."
Aurelian’s expression did not change. "Then try."
The War God Palace disciples began to roar.
"Rakan!"
"First Warlord!"
"Crush the Divine Son!"
"Break through that light!"
Inside the viewing halls of the second elven faction, the atmosphere ran colder but burned no less intensely. Aurelian had already lost to Damian, and the humiliation of that defeat had not faded. If he lost again to Rakan, his standing in the eyes of the Divine Realm would sink even further.
Several elders stared at the screen with sharp eyes.
"The Divine Son cannot lose this."
"Rakan’s close bat is frightening, but he has a clear weakness."
"He must be kept away."
"His fists are only meaningful if they reach the target."
Inside the Eternal Hourglass, Max watched the stage calmly. This battle would be a clash of styles. If Rakan dragged Aurelian into close bat, Aurelian would suffer, because even with the Crownless Divine King he would not want to trade blows against Rakan’s Third Limit for long.
But if Aurelian held his distance and used the Heavenly Luminance Divine Dominion to suppress the battlefield, then Rakan would have to fight through layers of divine light before he could ever land a clean hit.
Angelina looked toward both participants. "Rakan Thorne. Aurelian Lareth. Enter the stage."
Two beams of light descended. Rakan landed heavily on one side of the central stage, and the stone beneath his feet cracked slightly under the weight of his body. Aurelian appeared opposite him with golden-white light flowing around him like a sacred robe.
pared to Rakan’s violent war aura, Aurelian’s presence felt colder, brighter, and more distant, like a divine sun hanging high above a battlefield.
Angelina raised her hand.
[Battle Begins.]
Rakan moved first. He did not hesitate, and he wasted no time on slow probing. The instant the battle began, the bronze markings on his arms lit up.
"War God Body, First Limit, War Blood Awakening."
His blood roared like war drums.
Boom!
The stage shattered beneath his feet as he charged. In a single instant he crossed half the distance to Aurelian with his fist drawn back and battle intent blazing in his eyes.
