Everyone else is catching up fast—they’re all on the sixth and seventh floors.
We’ll catch up to you eventually.” Revenna, calm and composed as ever, gave a nod.
“I’ll defeat you when I reach the tenth floor,” she said matter-of-factly.
Max laughed, a genuine, hearty laugh that ward the group’s spirits.
“Thank you all for your well wishes,” he said, nodding gratefully.
He turned to Alia and Revenna.
“I’ll be waiting for you both at the tenth floor.
But I won’t wait too long, so hurry up,” he added with a teasing grin.
Alia returned his smile and added cheekily, “Oh, by the way… Alice is already on the tenth floor.
Just so you know.” Max’s eyes widened slightly.
“She is?” he asked, surprised—but quickly cald down, rembering the strength of her phoenix bloodline.
It made sense.
“And you know what else she said?” Alia continued, narrowing her eyes mischievously.
Max took a small step back, suddenly wary.
“What?” “She said she’s going to take revenge… for what you did to her back in the dungeon where you two first t,” Alia said with mock drama in her voice, clearly enjoying the mont.
Max smiled bitterly, rubbing the back of his neck.
“Damn… that was a mutual deal, though.” “She doesn’t think so,” Alia replied with a smirk.
Max could only shake his head, half-amused and half-worried.
“Anyway,” he said, his voice firm now as he looked over his friends one last ti, “I’m heading up.
I expect all of you to make it to the tenth floor soon.
Show them that the geniuses of the Valora Continent aren’t ones to be underestimated.” “Don’t worry about us,” Aelric said with a confident smile.
“Just focus on your fight.” Max nodded and turned to Princess Lenavira, who stood silently beside him.
“Let’s go then,” he said.
She gave a simple nod before vanishing from her spot in a blink, her body dissolving into a trail of shimring light.
Max took one last look at his friends, then closed his eyes and focused on the tenth floor.
The tower responded to his will imdiately—and in the very next mont, his figure disappeared in a flash of red and silver, leaving behind only the charged silence of anticipation.
